The four of them stared at the table that Matthew had walked toward, still stunned. Music played in the background, but in that moment, everything felt weirdly still.
Kate was the first to break the silence.
"What is Bri doing here?" she scoffed. " She is with her weird friends!? How did they even get in?"
William and Evans both turned to look at Kate, then finally at Chris.
Feeling the awkwardness, Chris immediately looked at Kate as he spoke." Watch your words, Kate!" he reprimanded.
Evans rubbed his forehead.
"Remember Matthew told us he's cousins with one of them?Maybe he is cousins with Bri, and is interested in her friend."
Kate instantly shook her head.
"No. She said the other night; she doesn't have any relatives. Only her grandma who passed on a while back."
Chris looked confused.
"What are you guys whispering about?"
