Chapter 2 - Welcome to Chaos, Please Mind Your Skills

The colors faded, and I stumbled onto solid ground.

Or at least, I hoped it was solid. The floor beneath me was glowing moss that occasionally tried to nibble my shoes.

Above, three suns hung lazily in the sky, each orbiting in completely different directions. One of them winked at me. I swear it did.

I looked down at the holographic screens hovering before me:

> [SYSTEM INSTALLED: Heroic Ascension Tracker – Level 1]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: Random Skill Generator – Initializing…]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: Interdimensional Gacha – 0/∞ pulls remaining]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: Companion Bond Leveler – 0 companions]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: Arcane Cuisine Simulator – Ready]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: Legendary Farming Expansion – Ready]

[SYSTEM INSTALLED: System Management System – Cannot be deactivated]

"Alright… let's see what these systems do." I pressed a random button.

> [ARCANE CUISINE SIMULATOR – SKILL UNLOCKED: Fire-Spicy Cloud Cake]

Suddenly, a cake made of floating clouds and fire appeared in midair.

I reached for it—and accidentally triggered a flavor explosion.

The cake shot up like a mini meteor, then crashed into a nearby village of crystal huts.

Villagers screamed.

Bird-like creatures with translucent wings shrieked.

A goat wearing a monocle stared at me and shook its head.

> [SYSTEM ALERT: Village Morale – Critical]

[SYSTEM ALERT: Heroic Ascension Tracker – +0.1 points]

"Wait… what?!" I yelled.

Apparently, my "heroic debut" had gone spectacularly wrong.

Then a voice boomed from the sky, or maybe it came from my head—I wasn't sure:

> "Congratulations, Kuro. You have successfully begun your legend… in the most chaotic fashion possible."

I sighed, already regretting the life I had left behind.

Well, technically, I had seven lives now if you counted the systems.

And so, my adventure began:

I was a hero who could barely control his cooking system.

I had companions I hadn't met yet.

And the multiverse apparently expected me to save everything… or at least try.

All while the three suns laughed silently above.
