Chapter 1 - The Day It Rained Memories

The rain didn't just fall that evening — it sang.

Soft, steady drops echoed against the bookstore windows as Amelia stacked the last few books, humming to herself.

It was a quiet night, the kind that felt both peaceful and lonely.

She turned off the lights and reached for her umbrella when the door creaked open.

A tall man stepped inside, soaked to the bone, his dark coat dripping onto the wooden floor. In his hand - an envelope, yellowed by time.

"Are you Amelia Hart?" he asked, his voice deep but trembling slightly.

She blinked, surprised. "Yes… can I help you?"

He placed the envelope gently on the counter.

"This was meant for you," he said, eyes filled with something she couldn't name.

"Ten years ago, the sky promised I'd find you."

Amelia stared at the envelope — her name written in faded ink, the handwriting strangely familiar.

Outside, thunder whispered softly…

and for the first time, she felt like the sky was trying to tell her something.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she reached for the envelope.

The paper was soft, almost fragile — as if it had been waiting too long to be opened.

She could feel her heart beating louder than the rain outside.

"Who sent this?" she asked quietly.

But when she looked up, the man was already gone.

The door swung gently behind him, leaving only a trail of raindrops and the faint scent of rain-soaked earth.

Amelia stood there for a long moment, staring at the closed door.

It was as if time itself had stopped — the bookstore frozen in a quiet between worlds.

Finally, she tore open the seal.

Inside was a single folded page, the ink slightly blurred but still readable.

"If you're reading this, then fate has finally caught up with us.

I promised I'd find you — even if it took a decade.

Don't be afraid when the rain begins again.

It means the sky remembers… and so do I."

Her breath hitched.

The handwriting — she knew it.

It was identical to a letter she had written years ago… to someone who never existed.

The room felt colder. The sound of the rain deepened, echoing through her chest.

Outside, lightning flashed for a moment, illuminating the glass window —

and in that reflection, just behind her shoulder…

she thought she saw someone standing there.
