Chapter 10 - School Competition 2

"What the fuck is he doing here?" a voice asked loudly.

Darius turned around only to see a group of people staring at him with disdain-filled in their eyes.

Darius or rather the owner of the body knew them. They attended the same highschool together and they were all from influential families but of course his family was more influential than theirs.

Darius sighed in exhaustion, he was not ready to deal with airheads who didn't know better than bullying the weak and hiding from the strong.

"How did you even pass?"a girl with a red hair snarked, "I heard you fainted, your father just have bought his way up here."

The group of five laughed at the girl's words. Darius simply glanced at the group with a look of annoyance.

They were noisy and stupid.

Seeing that Darius didn't seem embarrassed or interested in anything they said, a guy in the group grabbed Darius by the collar.

"Oh, it looks like you've grown wings right?"

Darius simply stared at the guy in irritation, he wanted nothing more than to knock the guy's teeth out.

The most annoying thing wasn't even the fact that the guy held his collar it was that the guy holding him was a rank 1.

How did he know, well the glasses.

Darius could fight with him and win but he wouldn't be stupid to do that.

The others were either rank 2 or 3, fighting right now might get him disqualified from the competition.

"Get your hands off my collar or I'll knock your teeth out of your mouth," Darius said with a calm expression.

The guy stared at Darius in anger, he was pissed because Darius wasn't begging and was instead threathening him.

"I'll kill you, you little wimp," the guy said in anger.

"Calm down Bruno," the girl said as she stared at everyone. I was well aware that everyone was already staring at us.

"I'll advise you not to, if I die, we both know you won't leave this place alive," I stated with a devilish smile.

His expression dropped.

He doesn't have the power or the capacity to kill me and even if he does kill me, he knew very well what my father was capable of doing to him.

"I'll advise you to leave him alone," a voice suddenly said.

I looked at the direction of the voice only to see someone I was incredibly familiar with.

I frowned in surprise.

I wasn't surprised because the owner of the voice was Dain who was coming to 'rescue' me but rather because if his rank.

Dain Holloway is a Elite of 4th rank. My brain began to work, should I team up with him?

I instantly dismissed the idea of teaming up with him, humans are frickle in nature he might deceive me.

The moment Bruno saw who was talking, he left the collar of my shirt.

I raised an eyebrow.

Bruno and his team looked a bit scared of Dain. I searched my brain if there was any information about Dain but there was none.

"Are you okay," Dain asked as he approached me, he looked quite concerned.

"hmm," I hummed in response.

The group of individuals hurriedly fled the scene in a hurry.

"Cowards," Dain snorted, "You should be careful, they might come back for you during the competition,"

I adjusted the sword that was strapped to my back, "Don't worry about me, I have my ways of dealing with them,"

Dain stared at me like I told the joke of the century.

I didn't pay him attention rather I waited for the instructor to come.

"I feel like you've changed a lot,"

I froze, "We just met last week, you do not know me to say that."

Dain instantly shook his head, "Don't get me wrong at all, when you woke up from your head injury you seemed all goofy but now, you resemble an emotionless machine,"

"I'll take that as a compliment then," Darius replied with a snort. It was better to be called a machine than goofy.

"Dain," someone called

Dain and Darius looked at the direction of the voice. A young youth clad in white waved in excitement.

Beside the youth stood two people. A girl with a white hair and a guy with a golden hair.

What shocked Darius wasn't the fact that everyone in the group was rank 4 but the fact that the white girl was a Super elite.

Super elites were rare.

Darius noted the girl's appearance, she was one of the people he would have to avoid if he needs to get into this academy.

"My friends are here, bye," Dain waved then he left. Darius sighed in relief.

He certainly did not want to go on the mission with Dain.

Darius knew that joining a group would increase his chances of entering the university but it would be better to be safe than sorry.

He didnt want to join a group that wuld turn on him and it was better if no one knew his strength.

After, ten minutes of waiting, blonde blonde-haired man appered on the podium.

The man looked like he was in his early 30s but in reality that man is 53 years old.

"Hello everyone," the blonde-haired man spoke. Everyone immediately stopped talking.

"My name is Mr. Ignatus and I am the Vice-Principal of this school," the blonde-haired man said, his voice was soft yet everyone in the hall could hear him.

"As you all know, you are all here to participate in the entrance exam of this school and only 300 of you would be worthy to be called students of this beloved school," he paused briefly then continued, "The rules are simple; Don't kill anyone and the only way to pass is to submit seven of wooden tokens when this competition is over, Do you understand,"

"Yes sir," everyone responded.

The vice principal smiled, he was content with their response.

"You will be in there for three days, do not kill, we have cameras watching you, everyone is watching you…I wish you all best of luck,"

Immediately he was done with his sentence, the ground began to hum.

Darius looked at the podium only to see that the vice principal was gone.

He raised an eyebrow, the vice principal must be powerful if he could just disappear like that.

Darius wasn't the only one who noticed the vice principal had vanished without a trace, a few groups noticed but they weren't surprised.

The ground suddenly split open as if to swallow them. People screamed as they fell into the dark abyss.

Darius felt like his heart would jump out of his chest when the floor split but he wasn't scared instead his cold calculating eyes stared at the abyss he was falling into.

His heart rate didn't increase because of the fact that he was falling but because of the fact that the ground suddenly split open

He should be panicking instead he was calculating the intensity landing.

The feeling of dread crept into Darius heart, he wasn't afraid of the fact he was functioning perfectly when he should be panicking, what he really feared was the monster he would become if he continued this way.
