Chapter 45 - Is Teacher Lu a Master Breeder? (Please Vote!)

After Brock joined the group, it was already late at night.

Simply glancing at the group member list made his spine shiver with chills.

"Have I joined a Master Division player group?"

Brock's expression turned serious as he muttered to himself. "This lineup is far too luxurious."

Gold was currently squatting in the breeding house, playing games, with an exceptionally fierce Togekiss floating beside him.

"Togetic!" (You idiot, do you even know how to play?!)

"Ah, Togetic, you are distracting me!"

Togekiss used Body Slam to knock Gold aside, crying out toward the window. Aipom immediately climbed through from the tree, hoisting the dizzy Gold onto the bed.

Gold scratched his head and saw Togekiss instructing Pichu on how to win this level, so he could only smile helplessly.

His phone buzzed with vibrations. Gold glanced at his phone and immediately cried out in surprise.

"The squinty-eyed uncle!"

Brock's eyelid twitched, and several veins bulged at his temples.

"Why are you still not sleeping so late?" Gold inquired.

"I came to consult Mr. Lu about breeding insights," Brock answered honestly.

"Ah, you mean Teacher Lu? That guy is probably already asleep. You should find him tomorrow!"

Brock nodded silently, gazing at the full list of Master trainers, immediately feeling awe and respect.

"Just what kind of powerful breeder is this person?" Brock murmured.

After pulling Brock into the group, Lu Ye went to sleep.

It was not until early morning that his phone's buzzing vibrations woke Lu Ye up.

The group discussion topic centred on Lu Ye's Late Night Diner video released last night.

"I am so hungry right now." Yellow was humbly online.

"My family made breakfast. You can come over later." Red said.

Yellow: "!!?"

Gold's tone displayed extraordinary shock. "What? That guy is also a breeder?!"

"Infusing emotion into cooking and causing Pokémon evolution represents quite advanced breeding techniques." Brock sighed with admiration.

Lorelei said, "Kalos's Water Elite Four Siebold probably uses this method as well."

Green frowned deeply.

He had always adhered to survival of the fittest evolutionary principles, never showing interest in these so-called emotions.

Emotions would cloud a trainer's eyes and judgment.

However, undeniably, Teacher Lu's method seemed feasible as well.

"Aha, Gastly evolved!" Blue's eyes sparkled brightly. "This has not even been two months!"

"Enabling Gastly evolution within two months is already quite rare." Brock stroked his chin seriously.

"Mr. Lu might even be a Master-level breeder!"

Lu Ye looked completely bewildered.

What breeder? What were they talking about?

Did Gastly not evolve just to lick the plate?

I am not, I did not, you all should not speak recklessly!

Watching the group discussion proceeding enthusiastically, Lu Ye could not bear to interrupt them.

"Whatever, you all can be happy." Lu Ye sighed.

Closing the chat group, Lu Ye clicked open the management backend, checking his follower count.

After one night's time, Lu Ye's follower count reached one million, precisely breaking through the million-follower threshold.

Simultaneously, the system notification sound rang out.

[Achievement 'Million Follower UP Master' Completed!]

[Achievement Reward: Cherish Ball x1, Skill Upgrade Voucher x1]

This meagre reward made Lu Ye feel cold from head to toe.

Such a prestigious million-follower achievement only awarded a Cherish Ball?

"Explain why you did not give a Master Ball!"

"Did you embezzle my reward with kickbacks?!"

[Ding! To commemorate the host's significant achievement, the system will distribute the precious Cherish Ball as a reward.]

Cherish Balls, in reality, naturally would not be like games where buying ten gives one free.

Instead, they were special Poké Balls issued in limited quantities by Poké Ball factories to commemorate various events.

From a collectable value perspective, Cherish Balls were absolutely priceless treasures.

However, Lu Ye definitely would not foolishly trade system items outside.

"This thing can only gather dust on the shelf."

The other reward, the Skill Upgrade Voucher, was something he had never seen before.

Lu Ye felt somewhat curious. When his finger touched it, this small card immediately crumbled into powder.

[Skill Upgrade Voucher successfully used!]

[Please select one skill to upgrade: Cooking Lv2, Spirit Vision Lv1, Poké Block Craftsmanship Lv4, Japanese Lv3]

From a cost-effectiveness perspective, upgrading Poké Block Craftsmanship would definitely be higher.

However, Lu Ye was not becoming a trainer anyway. Level 4 was already sufficient.

After an intense internal struggle, Lu Ye sighed and ultimately chose Poké Block Craftsmanship.

"Why do I feel this is another trap?" Lu Ye murmured.

[Ding! Skill upgrade successful!]

[Poké Block Craftsmanship Lv5: You who understand berries thoroughly have a certain probability of crafting perfect quality Poké Blocks. (Sufficient to rival Coordination Champions!)]

Even at Level 5, perfect quality could not be guaranteed one hundred per cent, but instead upgraded from "rather low probability" to "certain probability."

Additionally, extensive practice was still required to fully unleash the skill's complete effects.

Although Lu Ye's current level temporarily could not match Coordination Champion Wallace, easily surpassing Coordination Masters like Fantina was quite simple.

Since it was early morning, Lu Ye feared disturbing neighbours, so he chose not to immediately test that extremely noisy berry blender machine.

However, he clearly felt the effects brought by the skill upgrade.

"Brat, you have good fortune now!"

Lu Ye arrived at the adjacent room, preparing to tease Haunter, but suddenly his eyes widened.

"Kekeke!"

Haunter was currently practising punches against the wall.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!"

Those two claws that could freely leave its body flew everywhere around the living room, melting into walls before flying down from the ceiling, making it impossible to predict where they would appear next.

Haunter was training the move Shadow Punch!

"You are a special attacker." Lu Ye felt somewhat weary. "With your pitiful attack stat, what use is practising boxing?"

"Kekeke?"

Haunter glanced at Lu Ye.

Are you trying to tell me what to do?

"Whatever, I said nothing. Your happiness is most important."

Lu Ye crossed his arms, watching Haunter practice boxing for quite a while before reaching the following conclusions.

The claws could not be farther than five meters from Haunter. Converting to Stand parameters, this guy's range was only D.

Although precision probably reached EX level, Haunter's pathetic attack stat made its power disappointingly weak.

"Practice if you want to practice." Lu Ye sighed. "I will buy you a dumbbell set another day."

"Kekeke!" Haunter's eyes gleamed brightly as it nodded vigorously.

Lu Ye rubbed his temples.

No matter how hard it worked, Pokémon still had limits!

Practising boxing like this now, could it really develop into a mixed-attacker Haunter?

Although he felt Haunter practising boxing was useless, Lu Ye did not plan to pursue the battle path anyway.

Rather than dampening its enthusiasm, he might as well let this kid figure things out on its own.

"I need to attend class. Are you coming with me?" Lu Ye called out.

"Kekeke!"

Haunter shook its head, adopting a boxer's stance, swinging its fists with "huff huff" sounds.

"Alright, just do not smash the house apart!"
