Lila honestly dint know what to say. She was stunned speechless. She knew he had barriers around him but to this extent? She wondered what on earth he had gone through in his child hood for him to grow up like this. She suddenly felt saddened for him. From the way Cyrus spoke to her she could tell that Cyrus and Darrius had a bond that was deep and it made her wonder how step brothers could hone such amount of feelings for each other.
"it looks like you were the straw he was holding up to when he should have collapsed Cyrus…. You might not know but from what you've just told me, you mean a lot to Darrius. Lila said and Cyrus just smiled and said nothing. Honestly being this emotional was not his forte so he wanted to get off this as soon as possible.
"his feelings? Lila said as though she was talking to herself.
"I don't believe that he can't feel anymore. I just believe he locked it in himself from being hurt. And can no longer express it."
"you think so?"
"yes."
"what do you think wife?" the door swung open and Darrius walked in. it made her stunned because Darrius always teleported so it looked strange for him to walk in like a normal human. And from the curiosity in his face it seemed like though he had restrained himself from eavesdropping on their conversation which made Cyrus heave a sigh of relief... Darrius knew Cyrus well. If he was here, then it means he was trying to feed his wife nonsense….
It seems like you miss your wife so I'll give you guys tome privacy." With that he disappeared like he was never there.
"don't listen to him. Darius said with a frown. He had a feeling that he must have said something form the way Lila was staring at him.
Lila had no appetite as she kept on thinking about the fact that Darrius had suffered a worse life than hers. She had studied Cyrus expression. She had iris because they faced the situation together but the same could not be said to Darrius. He was an illegitimate child. No matter how hard Cyrus would have tried at the end he couldn't protect him from the clutches of his parents.
'how much pain have you experienced to turn out like this Darrius?" Lila said and her hand flew to her mouth realizing she said it out loud
"in sorry I…."
"I can't change my past Lila but at least I have a future... I'm no longer the little me that experienced pain.'
'Darrius." Lila said as she teared up
"you talking about it will reopen a closed wound Lila" not wanting to see her pity towards him, he got up and stormed off.
