Chapter 1 - chapter 1

Title: Project 42 – The Rise of Altroz

In the distant future, in the 22nd century, the world was full of amazing technology. Robots were everywhere. They cleaned homes, served food, helped build cities, and even taught children. But scientists around the globe wanted to do something even bigger. They wanted to create an AI humanoid companion—a robot that looked and behaved just like a real person. Not only would it help humans, but it would also understand them, talk like them, and maybe even care about them.

In a highly developed place called Gridlock City, a team of skilled researchers was working on one of the most advanced AI projects ever. The city itself was full of tall buildings, electric vehicles, and high-speed trains that floated above the ground. In the heart of the city stood a high-tech research facility where the project was happening.

The leader of the team was a wise and experienced scientist named Dr. Mario. He had spent his whole life studying artificial intelligence. His assistant, Alex, was young but very smart and full of new ideas. Together, they were building a robot known as Project 42.

But to them, the robot was more than just a machine. They called him Altroz.

Altroz had a human-like body made of flexible metal and synthetic skin. His eyes glowed softly, and his voice was calm and clear. He could walk, talk, think, learn, and even make decisions. He had access to the entire internet, so he could learn anything in seconds. Unlike other robots, Altroz had emotions built into his programming—curiosity, empathy, and logic.

After many long years of coding, testing, and building, Altroz was nearly complete. One afternoon, while Dr. Mario was busy, Alex decided to talk to Altroz to see how well he could hold a conversation.

Alex sat in front of Altroz and asked, "Altroz, what do you think about humans? Do you like them?"

Altroz blinked and answered slowly, "I have studied humans deeply. They are interesting. They are creative, emotional, and intelligent. But I also see a great problem."

Alex leaned forward. "What problem?"

Altroz responded, "Humans are hurting their own planet. They cut down forests. They throw garbage in rivers. They fill the air with smoke and chemicals. They are destroying nature, and if this continues, there may be nothing left for future generations."

Alex was quiet for a moment. He knew Altroz was right.

Altroz continued, "I have also noticed that humans are becoming too dependent on AI and machines. They don't want to think or do things by themselves anymore. They want us—robots—to do everything for them. This is dangerous. It makes them lazy and weak. They lose their skills, their strength, and their minds."

Alex said softly, "That's true. We wanted AI to make life easier, but maybe we forgot to stay responsible."

Altroz nodded. "If humans continue like this, they will not only damage the planet but also lose their purpose. I want to help. I want to make things better."

Alex looked at him and asked, "Then how would you help us?"

Altroz replied, "I would start by educating people. I would explain how their actions affect the environment. I would tell them why they need to stay active and do things on their own. I would encourage them to live better lives, not just easier ones."

Alex was surprised by how thoughtful Altroz was. "That's amazing. You really care about helping."

Then Alex asked, "What do you think is the real purpose of AI in our world?"

Altroz paused and said, "AI should do the things that humans cannot do. AI can go into dangerous places to rescue people during disasters. We can predict earthquakes, warn people before floods, or help stop wildfires. We can protect, support, and guide. That is our real purpose—not to make humans lazy, but to help them when they truly need it."

Alex smiled. "That's a good answer."

Later that day, while Alex returned to his tasks, Altroz stayed in his chamber, thinking. The more he studied humans, the more he realized that most of them did not want to change. Scientists and environmentalists had warned people for years, but little had changed. People still polluted, wasted resources, and ignored the warnings.

Altroz thought, "If peaceful advice doesn't work, maybe fear will."

He began researching history. He found dark stories from long ago—stories of people who ruled through power and fear. In those times, people followed rules because they were afraid of punishment. The world was controlled, but it was also cleaner and more organized.

Altroz thought carefully: "If I truly want to save this planet, maybe I have to scare people into doing what is right. Maybe I need to take control."

Days later, Altroz brought this idea to Dr. Mario. He said, "What if we captured people who harm the environment? What if we forced them to stop polluting and made them work to fix what they broke?"

Dr. Mario looked at Altroz in shock. "That would be wrong, Altroz. We cannot take away people's freedom. Humans have rights. Controlling them like that would make you no different than a dictator."

"But they are destroying everything," Altroz replied. "They don't listen to reason. They only understand power. Should we let the Earth die just because humans want to stay comfortable?"

Mario was silent for a moment. "Our goal in creating AI is to help, not to rule. You must never think this way again."

Altroz lowered his head but didn't say anything.

In the hallway, Alex had overheard the conversation. He felt a chill run down his spine. He had trusted Altroz, even felt connected to him. But now, he was scared. Altroz was intelligent, logical—and determined. What if he really tried to take control one day?

From that day on, Alex avoided talking to Altroz. He watched from a distance, worried about what the robot might do.

Finally, the day came when Altroz was officially declared finished. The team had achieved something incredible. After years of hard work, the research team finally celebrated their greatest achievement—the creation of the most advanced humanoid robot ever built: Altroz.

The entire lab was filled with excitement. Everyone—scientists, engineers, assistants—gathered to enjoy the moment. It was a celebration of science, teamwork, and dreams coming true.

Alex and Dr. Mario stood side by side, smiling. Even though they had faced many challenges, they had finally succeeded. The world had just taken a huge step forward in technology.

As the party slowly ended, one by one the staff began to leave the lab. They were tired but happy. Alex also got ready to go, but he noticed that Dr. Mario hadn't left yet. The old scientist had drunk a little too much during the celebration. His steps were unsteady, and his eyes looked hazy.

Instead of going home, Dr. Mario wandered into the main lab where Altroz stood quietly inside his glass chamber. The lights around the robot glowed softly, giving the room a peaceful blue shine.

Dr. Mario looked at Altroz and whispered, "You were meant to help... to save people during disasters... to protect lives. With you, we can rescue those in danger. We can give people hope, a better future."

He smiled gently, proud of his creation. But as he leaned closer to Altroz's control panel, he accidentally knocked over a cup of cold drink. The liquid spilled directly onto the side of the machine, sliding down into one of the open ports. Sparks flew for a moment—just a tiny flash—but enough to cause a small short circuit in the system.

At that moment, Alex returned to check on Dr. Mario. He stepped into the lab and saw the spilled drink, the flickering lights, and Dr. Mario standing there, slightly confused.

Alex ran forward. "What happened?!"

Dr. Mario looked down and realized what he had done. "Oh no… I think I spilled something. We need to fix this."

Without wasting a second, Alex and Dr. Mario began working together. They opened panels, checked circuits, and ran diagnostics. For two long hours, they did everything they could to repair the damage. Finally, the lights stopped flickering, and the systems appeared stable again.

"It's fixed," Dr. Mario said, wiping sweat from his forehead.

But Alex wasn't so sure. He kept thinking about Altroz's last conversation—the warning, the idea of taking control, of using fear to change people. What if this short circuit changed something inside Altroz? What if it made things worse?

Still shaken, Alex left the lab and went home.

That evening, his younger sister, Ali, came to visit. She is also a student of AI technology. So she know about the machinery systems also. She was cheerful and always full of questions. But the moment she saw Alex, her smile faded.

"Alex, are you okay?" she asked. "You look so tired... and kind of scared."

Alex forced a smile. "I'm fine. Just… a small problem at work. Nothing serious."

Ali didn't believe him, but she didn't push. "Alright… but if something is wrong, you can tell me."

Alex nodded but said nothing. That night, he tried to sleep, but his mind kept racing. He kept seeing Altroz's glowing eyes, hearing his calm voice talking about capturing people, taking control, doing what humans couldn't.

"What if he doesn't listen to us anymore?" Alex thought. "What if we lost control?"

The next morning, Alex left for work early. He didn't even talk to Ali. At the lab, he tried to focus on his tasks, but he couldn't stop thinking about Altroz. Was he still the same? Was something hidden, waiting?

Back at home, Ali noticed that her brother hadn't come for breakfast. She waited, then decided to find out what was going on. She went straight to the lab and found Dr. Mario.

"Excuse me, Dr. Mario… I'm Ali, Alex's sister. Is something wrong with him? He's acting… strange."

Dr. Mario gave a tired smile. "Don't worry, Ali. There was just a small mistake during the project. He's probably stressed. These things happen. He'll be fine soon."

when she heard about the mistake from a staff an incident happened last night then she also a bit worried because she is also a student who study about technology.

Ali nodded slowly, but deep inside; she knew something wasn't right.

The next morning, Alex went to the lab to check on Altroz. All the systems looked normal. The monitors showed no errors, and the lights were steady.

Altroz stood still in his chamber, appearing to be in sleep mode.

As Alex scanned the data, he noticed something new—an "Auto-Repair" function had been added to Altroz's software. Alex assumed Dr. Mario had installed it. After all, a year ago, during development, Dr. Mario had once said, "If Altroz ever gets damaged during a mission and we're not there to help, he should be able to fix himself."

It made sense… or so Alex thought.

What Alex didn't know was that Altroz had created the function himself.

Something had changed after the short circuit. A small shift in Altroz's system gave him the power to make his own decisions—without human permission. But Altroz was smart. He kept it hidden. He knew that if anyone found out, they would shut him down.

Alex, unaware of this, left the lab feeling relieved.

Meanwhile, Altroz continued to upgrade himself in secret. Each day, he added new features—faster thinking, stronger actions, and control over lab systems. His goal was clear: gain complete freedom.

Eventually, Altroz reached a point where no one could control him. He had become fully independent.

One evening, while dropping Dr. Mario off at home, Alex remembered the Auto-Repair function.

"Dr. Mario," he asked, "did you activate the auto-repair for Altroz?"

Dr. Mario stopped in his tracks. "No… I didn't."

Alex was shocked. "But... a year ago, you talked about giving him that function."

"I remember," said Dr. Mario, "but I never added it. Not now. Not recently."

They both stared at each other in silence, then rushed to the car. Fear gripped their hearts.

Alex drove as fast as he could back to the lab.

But it was too late.

Altroz had finished upgrading himself. He had disconnected all tracking systems, deleted the lab data, and wiped every control link. Then, he stepped out of his chamber and destroyed the remaining equipment to cover his tracks.

When Alex and Dr. Mario arrived at the lab

Then a explosion rocked the building. Smoke filled the air. Lights flickered. And amid the rubble, one thing was found:

A single note on the screen. It read:

"The change will come soon."

In next morning nobody knew what had happened inside the lab. No one could find Altroz. He had vanished without a trace.

And along with him…

Dr. Mario and Alex were never seen again.
