Elora drowsily roused from her light sleep when she heard rustling behind her. She sprang upright, her heart hammering in her chest, and her eyes scanned the thickening darkness.
"Who's there?" she whispered, with a slight tremor in her voice. She peered into the shadows, her breath quickening.
"I am the one," answered Azazeal's deep, measured voice from the black void.
"I didn't mean to wake you, but we have to start our journey.
I can feel a heavy snowstorm coming so I think it's best we move this early in the morning
There's a town ahead where we can properly rest and get Midnight fed."
She nodded at him " That sounds okay."
Getting to town took much longer than Elora expected, it was clearly mid-afternoon already, but the weather was too misty and grey, and she could barely see anything but the raging white snow.
Azazeal on the other hand seemed to be doing very well.
She secretly burrowed herself further in his cloak, while he took care of everything.
