After his battle with Kyogai, the Drum Demon, Goku followed Tanjiro Kamado through the mansion, to search and find two kids who came with Tanjiro.
"So... Since when you were fighting that demon?" Asked Goku.
"I don't know, honestly, but... About ten minutes, I think," replied Tanjiro.
"I understand..." sighed Goku. Finally, T the two boys arrived in the room where the two kids were. Goku opened the door.
"Hey!" He exclaimed. But Kiyoshi, the older brother, took the closest thing around and threw it at Goku. The object landed right in the middle of Goku's forehead.
"Ouch!" He exclaimed in pain, clutching his forehead, "why the hell are these kids throwing things at me!?"
"Hey, you two, calm down! He's an ally!" explained Tanjiro.
"What is his name, aniki?" Asked Teruko.
"My name is Goku, little girl..." said Goku, massaging his forehead.
"Let's go outside now," said Tanjiro, "Zenitsu is there with Shoichi."
"Shoichi? Who is he?" Asked Goku.
"The third brother," answered Tanjiro.
"Oh, I see. Let's go, then," said Goku, understanding. Then, led by Tanjiro, he got outside the mansion.
When the four boys saw the sun again, Goku noticed other two guys. One of them had yellow hair, yellow haori and yellow eyes. He was holding a box in his arms, and he was bleeding from the nose.
The second one had a boar mask on his face, and unlike the first one, he had no haori, with his raw physique and abdomen clearly showed.
"T-Tanjiro..." said the yellow boy, pointing the box, "I... I protected it..."
"C'mon, get up and fight me, dumbass!" Said the boar-headed boy.
"Tsk... Fine, I'll handle it," said Goku. "Hey, you with the boar mask! Can you please stop hurting that poor boy?"
"Who are you? You seem pretty strong!" Exclaimed the boar-headed boy. "Let's fight!"
The boar-headed boy charged at Goku, but he dodged easily and said, "like hell we will!"
With a quick hit on his nape, the boar-headed boy got knocked off by Goku. Due to the raw impact, the boy's mask fell off, revealing his face. He had long, black hair, with blue nuances at the end.
"What a weirdo..." commented Goku. Then, the boy walked towards the yellow boy and gave him his hand.
"Are you okay, yellow boy?" He asked. The yellow boy grabbed Goku's hand and stood up.
"Yeah, I-I'm fine..." he said, "w-what's your name?"
"My name is Goku Urokodaki," said Goku, "what's yours?"
"My name is Zenitsu Agatsuma..." said the yellow boy.
"And tell me, who might that boar-headed dumbass be?" Asked Goku, pointing at the unconscious boar-headed boy with his thumb.
"I have no idea," said Zenitsu, "he attacked me because he wanted the box... but I knew it was important for Tanjiro, and I didn't let him took it..."
"I see," said Goku, "well, I'll leave in a while, but first, I want to help you bury the dead people. And I hope boar-head wakes up, so I can ask him his name..."
"Are you sure? You're not forced to stay with us if you don't want to," said Tanjiro.
"I want to," said Goku.
"Arigatou, Goku-san..." said Tanjiro. Goku smiled.
Later, that day, the boar-headed boy suddenly opened his eyes and screamed, "HEEEEEEEY!"
After he got up, he ran towards Goku.
"Hey, stop!" Said Goku, "what's your name?"
"HASHIBIRA INOSUKE!" screamed the boar-headed boy.
"Nice to meet you, Inosuke-kun! My name is Goku!" Exclaimed Goku, "oh, and anyway, your mask fell when I knocked you off."
"Huh? Really? And how do I look?" Asked Inosuke.
"You look like a girl," answered Goku, "but, I have to admit, I wish I had green eyes too."
"But you've got green eyes too!" Exclaimed Inosuke, pointing at him.
"No! Mine are dark green, I wanted them light green, like yours!" Explained Goku.
"They're green anyway!" Said Inosuke.
"Well, actually yes..." realized Goku.
"Anyway, what are those guys doing?" Demanded Inosuke, pointing Tanjiro and the others.
"They're burying corpses," answered Goku, "would you like to help us?"
"No! I won't bury anyone!" Said Inosuke.
"What if we do a challenge?" Proposed Goku, "the one who buries more corpses between me and you wins! Are you in?"
"Of course I'm in! I'll show you who's the strongest!" Exclaimed Inosuke, already rushing inside the mansion to pick up some corpses.
"It didn't take so long to change his mind..." muttered Goku. Then, Goku turned back to Tanjiro and the others.
"Are you done with this one?" He asked.
"Almost, Goku-san!" replied Teruko.
"Fine," said Goku, "the boar's name's Inosuke, by the way..."
"Did you ask him his name?" Asked Zenitsu.
"I did," replied Goku.
When the sun began to set, Goku was sitting in front of a grave. Suddenly, Shoichi approached him.
"Goku-san, why did you stay with us?" he asked.
"Because I wanted to ask Inosuke his name," said Goku, "and also because I wanted to bury the dead people, in sign of humanity..."
"Humanity? Aren't you human?" Asked Shoichi.
In that moment, Goku realized he might have talked too much. What if Shoichi started to suspect he was a hybrid?
"Of course I'm human!" Laughed Goku, "it's just that I want to make everyone know I'm kind!"
"Oh! Now I understand!" Said Shoichi. Then, the little kid turned back and walking away.
Goku turned back to the grave.
"Hey, Goku-san!" Voiced Tanjiro. Goku turned again.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Aren't you coming with us?" Asked Tanjiro.
"No. You're all funny, strong and kind, but I have my own path to follow. I'd love to stay, but I can't," explained Goku, "I hope we meet again soon, guys..."
"I hope so, Goku-san..." said Tanjiro.
"Call me Goku, or Goku-kun. I'm not your superior, nor senior," said Goku, "besides, I feel old when someone calls me with the "san" suffix."
"I understand, Goku!" Axclaimed Tanjiro. Then, Goku turned back.
"Oh, and tell Inosuke-kun I'll fight him next time we meet..." he said.
"I will," promised Tanjiro. Then, as Goku started approaching the forest, he heard another voice.
"See you soon, Goku-san!" It was Zenitsu. Goku turned, and waved his hand at him.
"Goku-san is really cool... I hope we see him again..." said Zenitsu.
"I want to fight him!" Exclaimed Inosuke.
"We will meet him again," smiled Tanjiro, "I'm sure of it."
That day, Goku met a weird trio, who might become great friends in the future.
