My pulse quickened. "Rowan!"
We were chest to chest, his arm curved around my lower back, my free hand gripping his arm.
His eyes were on my hand, and there was no mischievous look in them. He was just… focused.
"This is the frame," he said quietly, still focused on my hand gripping him. "Your other hand goes on my shoulder."
I didn't understand why I just listened to him. I must have been still stunned by the sudden closeness for me to have lifted my hand and rested it on his shoulder.
I could feel the muscle beneath his shirt, and his palm pressed against the small of my back made me aware of how big his hand was.
"Now, we move together." He smiled faintly. "I lead, you follow. Don't think too much about the steps. Just feel where I am guiding you."
He stepped forward. "Move backward."
I stumbled back, my foot catching on his.
"Sorry—"
"Don't apologize." He steadied me with a small squeeze of his hand. "Again. Just feel where I'm going."
Easy for him to say.
