Chapter 6 -   Dvalin: Young Man, How Dare You Sneak Attack!

A violent storm was tearing through Mondstadt.

The fierce gales ripped the stalls right off the streets, and the sky above the city was a swirling chaos.

Caught off guard, Gu Chen, Lumine, and Paimon were swept high into the air.

Only Amber, quick on her feet, managed to grab hold of a metal railing to keep herself from being blown away.

[Nilou]:Ahh! They're blown that high up?! What if they fall?!

[Hu Tao]:What else? A grand funeral, of course! Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's newest deal — buy one gravestone, get one free! Paimon's so tiny, she could fit in the same coffin with Gu Chen. Total bargain!

[Paimon]:...

[Lumine]:...

[Amber]:No… something's off. Something's very off — like twelve levels off out of ten!

[Kaeya]:Heh, elaborate?

[Amber]:@[Lumine] I remember it clearly — I only gave you your Wind Gliderafter we met! But in this video, you don't have it yet!

[Lumine]:!!!

[Lumine]:No Wind Glider?! Then won't my past self just… die instantly?!

Lumine's expression turned grim.

Without a Wind Glider, falling from that height was definitely fatal.

Even if it was her "past life," she couldn't help but feel a pang of worry.

Who wouldn't hope their past self had a better fate?

If she really splattered on the pavement, that would be too tragic.

"Come on, Gu Chen, do something…" she prayed silently.

Beside her, Paimon looked at the screen nervously.

"Good thing I can fly… but with winds that strong, I'd probably just get blown into a wall and die too… so scary…"

[Zhongli]:From what we've seen so far, this Mr. Gu Chen is no ordinary man. He should be able to handle this situation.

[Tartaglia]:Agreed. I've been watching closely too — he doesn't flaunt his strength, but every time he fights, he uses the most efficient, decisive methods. One hit kills, minimal risk. Whether or not he has elemental powers, his combat skill is undeniable. I'd love to spar with him!

[Dvalin]:I have arrived.

[Venti]:Wait—what?

[Dvalin]:Are you blind or something?

Venti froze — then glanced at the screen.

And there it was.

A colossal shadow emerged within the storm — the maddened Stormterror, Dvalin himself!

Swept up in the winds, Lumine and Paimon flailed helplessly in the sky.

But Gu Chen, after a moment of shock, regained his calm.

"Hold on!"

In a flash, Gu Chen appeared beside Lumine midair, his arm wrapping around her waist.

The sudden embrace sent a flush to Lumine's cheeks, but Gu Chen said nothing.

He dove straight toward the ground — landing lightly, as though gravity didn't exist.

Before she could even react, he took Lumine's hand and pressed it against the railing.

"Hold on tight. I've got one more to save."

"Ah—oh! O-okay!" Lumine stammered, nodding rapidly.

[Lumine]:Confirmed — past-life me was absolutely love-struck. But again, that's past me!

[Paimon]:Gu Chen's such a good guy! He didn't forget to save me too!

Indeed, while Paimon could float, her flight power wasn't strong enough — in the raging storm, she was like a helpless balloon being tossed about.

Fortunately, Gu Chen leapt up once more, snatched her out of the air, and placed her beside Lumine, making sure both girls clung tightly to the railing.

The sight of the two of them hanging on for dear life — one tall, one tiny — was so pitiful it made everyone in the chat laugh.

[Jean]:Good thing the street railings in Mondstadt are well-built. Seems our Honorary Knight and Paimon are safe for now.

[Kaeya]:What surprises me more is Gu Chen's power… a single jump of several hundred meters? That's some terrifying strength.

[Tartaglia]:Haha! I knew I had an eye for strong opponents!

[Amber]:Wait—what's Gu Chen doing now?!

[Venti]:Huh? Don't tell me he's gonna fight Dvalin one-on-one?!

In the video, upon spotting Stormterror, Gu Chen didn't hesitate.

He leapt again — this time soaring through the air as if walking on solid ground — and charged straight toward the dragon!

[Dvalin]:Hmph! I'm still a dragon, after all! Just because you saved a couple people doesn't mean you can act cocky, young man. You should be worrying about yourself!

In the video, Stormterror roared, whipping up a hurricane and sending it toward Gu Chen.

But Gu Chen's expression didn't waver — his speed suddenly surged, and with a loud crack, his fist slammed into the dragon's side.

BOOM!

A single punch — simple but devastating.

Dvalin reeled midair, spinning once before regaining balance.

Furious, he bellowed again, wind energy swirling violently around his body.

Gu Chen's eyes flashed — he closed in again, another blow landing squarely on Dvalin's jaw.

CRACK!

The dragon tumbled once more, nearly crashing out of the sky.

"Go, Gu Chen!"

"You can do it, Gu Chen!"

Down below, Lumine, Paimon, and Amber clung to the railing, cheering with sparkling eyes — a glimmer of hope in the raging darkness.

The battle raged midair, blow for blow, each strike shaking the heavens.

[Venti]:@[Dvalin] Sooo… how do you explain this?

[Dvalin]:... Impossible. Absolutely impossible!

[Dvalin]:At that point, my mind was clouded — I wasn't even rational! So fine, the young man's strong, I'll give him that. To hold his own against a mindless dragon like me… not bad.

Just as he finished typing…

CRACK!

On screen, Gu Chen's next punch smashed into Dvalin's wing. The crisp sound of bones snapping echoed through the storm.

[Dvalin]:YOUNG MAN! That was a sneak attack! Dishonorable!

[Zhongli]:By the logic of mortal combat, any method that ensures victory is acceptable. "Honor" is irrelevant when survival is at stake.

[Tartaglia]:Exactly. Besides, you were the one who wasn't paying attention!

[Azhdaha]:A wind dragon? Hah! Seems overrated to me!

[Dvalin]:…

[Dvalin]:Whatever, just keep watching. My past self clearly couldn't beat him, so I… strategically withdrew, that's all!

[Venti]:You mean you ran away.

[Dvalin]:What did you just say?! (furious)

[Kaeya]:Haha, looks like Lord Dvalin's about to blow a fuse. (smirk)

In the video—

Just as Stormterror turned to retreat, a mysterious voice rang out:

"I command the thousand winds to aid you— huh?"

The voice trailed off mid-sentence, clearly stunned as Dvalin flapped his broken wings and fled without looking back.

[Zhongli]:That voice sounds… oddly familiar.

[Kaeya]:Yeah, like I've heard it somewhere before.

[Yun Jin]:Wait! Isn't that the same green-clad fellow from the forest earlier?!

[Alhaitham]:Based on voice analysis, the similarity is over 90%.

[Dvalin]:@[Venti] Explain yourself!
