Chapter 3 - chapter 3

FALLING INTO HIS DEN OF WOE

{DO NOT FORGIVE ME ISOLDE}

CHAPTER 3

MRS HAWKINS' OFFICE,

"What?" Isolde muttered as her eyes burned

Rage. Betrayal. Disappointment.

These emotions all burned through her in the same spot, and it made her head spin.

She just got fired, and all she could do was just stand there like a fool. She was even speechless

"Didn't you hear what she said? Leave and don't come back. Are you that dumb to process that?" Nick asked

"She probably wants to beg me again, but I'm really fed up. Just leave and don't come back. I don't like your face. It irks me" Hawkins said and Isolde finally found something to say

She scoffed.

Her tears were already falling down her face but she didn't break down. Her heart was heavy and her mind was clouded with the overwhelming emotions that coursed through her, her judgment became rational and she didn't even think before starting to talk

"Pathetic?" she scoffed again and wiped her tears with the sleeves of her dress

"You think I'm pathetic? If I'm pathetic then you're pitiful, you slut! Do you think I can't talk at all because of my appearance?" Isolde asked, and Nick frowned with one of his brows raised. Hawkins was shocked, and she couldn't hide the shock that was expressed on her face. This is the first time they'll hear Isolde curse out

"As much as I need this job, I won't stoop so low to beg you when you obviously don't want me, i have my ego. How dare you speak ill of my dream?" she started again

"Do you think everyone is goalless and dreamless like you? Wake up and think again. Your're my boss doesn't mean you can do all sorts of things you like to me, I ain't your slave. Who do you think you are?" she paused again, her tears were starting to fall again and this time she just allowed them to fall freely, she didn't bother to wipe them

"Yeah…thanks for saving me the stress. It's good that you fired me before I make myself more pathetic in front of a slut like you, I really appreciate that" she nodded and finally faced Nick

"Nick?" she called and paused, her lower lip pulled downwards and her lips spread in a sad smile

"You know what? I'm truly disappointed in you but at the same time I wasn't expecting much from you" she started

"Scumbags like you don't act out of pattern, always the same behavior. You can date Hawkins for all I care, you're gonna regret this Nick. I assure you that…I'm gonna make you cry blood in my own way" Isolde finally said. She reached for her back pocket and brought out her name tag, she threw it on the ground and walked out without looking back at the two she had left in the room

After she left, silence still hung in the air and neither Nick nor Hawkins spoke for the next three minutes It's like they had just been shocked instead, Hawkins was even more shocked and Nick was just frowning as he seemed to be trapped in another state of shock that was different from Hawkins'

"Do you think she meant all she said?" Hawkins asked Nick and he faced her

"Nah. She's just caught up in the moment and angry, she'll be the first person to call me tomorrow morning. She's obsessed with me and I hate to admit it but she's really stupid but cute" Nick assured and Hawkins frowned with a pout as she snaked her hand around his neck

"What do you mean cute? How can you say another girl is cute in my presence, I feel hurt you know?" she said and Nick smiled, he also wrapped his hands around her waist and drew her close to him, trapping her in the middle of his legs

"You know it too, her features are cute. I don't mean it the way you think" he replied and Hawkins tilted her head with a playful smile on her face

"Do I need to remind you that you belong to me now? Seems like a boy needs to be punished" she said and buried her face in his neck

COLD STREETS,

The sky made a loud rumble and a bolt of lightning flashed through the sky, a cold breeze blew around and people were all running for shelter as it seemed that the heavens were about to release a large pour which won't stop easily

As the whole street rushed and ran for shelter, Isolde just dragged her feet in the street. She looked lost and in a lot of pain

People kept bumping into her, and while some mumbled their apology, some cursed at her, but she didn't hear anything. It was as if she were trapped underwater and her hearing was blurred

Her heart was breaking into pieces. She had trusted Nick too much, too much for her own good and she regretted it now

Nick is a few years younger than her and they started dating when he was in his final year of college. They met while Isolde was still working at the convenience store and they started talking from there

Nick's family is poor…at least that's what he told her because he had never shown her the picture of his family members or talked much about them. It had always been a topic they avoided and anytime Isolde tries to bring it up Nick either shuns her or gets angry at her

Isolde had once paid his tuition fee and even always gave him pocket money because she didn't want him to suffer and all the money she had spent on him was the money she borrowed from Madam Ploy

She had done all this for him only for her to be betrayed at the end. She should've been noticing the recent changes in his attitude for the past few days but she decided to play the 'understanding girlfriend' role. She had thought he'd been busy with his interviews so she wasn't bothered when they barely talked but she didn't know this was what he was doing behind her back

Her eyes burned once again

Pat!

Pat!

The sound came for the third time and the rainfall started heavily

Isolde stood in the middle of the rain. She allowed the rain to drench her as her tears fell and mixed with the rain

Her hair gummed to her face, her knees weakened and her heart shattered with each stroke of the rain. The thunder made a loud clap in the sky again and Isolde fell on her knees immediately and cried out, screaming at the top of her voice

The black van from earlier stood obliviously on a side of the street watching her from the dark

PENTHOUSE, MOSCOW

The sound of the rain falling in rhythmic patterns mixed with the low classical bass music that played in the luxurious penthouse

the penthouse screamed crazy luxury and wealth judging from the design and artworks in the house. The person living here seems to love artistic paintings because most of the spaces on the wall have different paintings hung on them

The mood and aura in the penthouse scream doom and a sense of foreboding

Beside the floor-to-ceiling window stood Emilius Morozov. He's tall and imposing, his chest is covered in tattoos and he looks calm and dangerous in his stance

He seems to have just finished having a hot shower, he's putting on a white robe, and his brown hair sprawls all over his face, covering his forehead and his eyes. Hot steam from the shower still erupts from his body as he stands in the dimly lit room

His features are sharp and dangerous. His sharp jawline looked like it could cut through anything and his handsomeness couldn't be denied from his mere appearance

As he watched the rain droplets on the window, his left hand held a flute of red wine and he slowly swirled the wine in a rhythm best known to him

He was enjoying his silence when the doorbell suddenly rang. A dull and almost lazy sigh left his thin lips as he turned around and with a snap of his finger the door opened

He walked towards the sofa, his flops making a dull sound behind him as he sat down

"Emilius"

"Emi" two voices called out, followed by the clicking of heels against the tiled floor

Emilius just sat there unmoved as the footsteps approached him, he sipped from his wine as he expected the arrival of the voices calling him and in no time, two ladies walked in

The two ladies resembled each other and one could almost not tell the difference between them coz they look so damn alike

They are putting on the same clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, and the same shade of makeup…black, even their hairstyle is the same thing

They are Emolgen and Imogen Morozov, the younger sisters of Emilius. The same father and the same mother

"How come you're sitting here and not acting? I heard that bastard escaped his psychiatric home again" Imogen asked as she took a seat beside Emilius

"Shouldn't you capture him and send him back there like the last time?" Emolgen also asked as she took a different seat from her sister. It can rarely be noticed, but the two are different from each other; others might not be able to tell them apart, but only Emilius can tell the difference between the two of them. Even their father and mother can't tell the difference,

"Is that why you're here?" Emilius asked coolly, his voice was cool but the venom was evident

"Do you think it's not worth it? Dad will be awake soon, you can't let that psychopath near him" Emolgen spat, anger was evident in her voice. She's the most aggressive of he two

"Do you think Dad will choose him? Dad also hates him as much as we do" Imogen said and Emolgen just rolled her eyes

"I just don't like seeing his face and that's why you can't allow him to come back to the empire Emilius" Imogen faced Emilius

Emilius just drank from his flute and didn't reply to his sisters. Not long enough, his phone buzzed twice with a message and he brought it out from the pocket of his robe, he read the message and a bland smile spread across his lips, the smile was dead and cold

He turned his phone and showed the message to his sisters and the two gasped in total shock…soon, their lips also spread into the same smile on the face of their brother.
