T.K.'s eyes suddenly went wide, his face a mix of shock and fury as he stared at Kimeramon. "I remember that voice! It's Devimon—he's Devimon!" T.K. shouted, raising his hand to point at Kimeramon.
Kimeramon lowered its head and looked down at T.K., who was like an ant beneath it. After tilting its head for a long moment, Patamon finally spoke. "It's you! I remember now—you're the ones who threw me into the abyss of darkness. This time, I'm going to kill all of you."
Kimeramon opened its huge mouth, and a scorching glow began to gather and churn inside.
"When I finally managed to see you again, you made me call you the Digimon Emperor. How was I supposed to accept that? Because no matter what you become, Ken is still Ken. So after you became the Digimon Emperor, no matter how many awful things you did… I still believed that one day you'd turn back into the Ken you used to be." Wormmon was already sobbing as it spoke, tears streaming down its face, while the Digimon Emperor clutched his whip—yet no matter what, he couldn't bring himself to swing it. "Because I believed in you… I stayed by your side."
Wormmon's whole body began to shine with golden light. Magnamon, who had already been out of strength, suddenly felt a surge of power spreading from its armor.
"From now on, I'll still believe in Ken, because the real Ken isn't the Digimon Emperor. The real Ken is—" Wormmon's radiance flared to its brightest as it rammed its head forward, smashing the Digimon Emperor off the top of Devidramon's head and sending him tumbling to the ground. "—someone very gentle."
After leaving those words behind, Wormmon drove Devidramon straight into the claw that was gripping Magnamon. Caught completely off guard, Kimeramon couldn't help loosening its grip—and even the Death Line it had been charging in its mouth was knocked off course, slicing diagonally across the desert and carving out a deep trench.
Magnamon seized the chance to escape, and the light around its body synchronized perfectly with the light shining from Wormmon.
Crying, Wormmon pleaded with Magnamon, "Please… save Ken." But the moment it finished speaking, the enraged Kimeramon smacked Wormmon away with a single slap. Wormmon compressed all its remaining energy into a single point, turning it into a beam of golden light that poured into Magnamon.
Magnamon felt an overwhelming power surge within it—Wormmon's Mega-level power. Dense golden radiance gathered around Magnamon's body. This was the power of Miracles.
Kimeramon swooped in. Magnamon stepped in front, gathered all its energy, and released it in one burst through the Miracle Armor. "Shining Gold Solar Storm!"
A gigantic sphere of light appeared high in the sky—so brilliant it was as if even the sun had to yield. The glare was so intense it couldn't be looked at directly.
For the first time, fear appeared in Kimeramon's eyes. It didn't even have time to dodge before the enormous sphere of light swallowed it whole, grinding it into nothing—no trace left behind.
With its energy completely spent, Magnamon became a mass of golden light that rained down to the ground, turning into Chibomon, who lay there limply, barely able to move.
"My Kimeramon…" The Digimon Emperor collapsed onto the sand as if all strength had drained from him. "It… actually lost." His spirit went slack, like an old man at the end of his days.
Davis ran over and scooped the unconscious Chibomon into his arms. "Are you okay?"
Chibomon struggled to open its eyes, but it was so weak it could only let out a faint little sound.
Overjoyed, Davis hugged Chibomon close. Then, looking past the top of Chibomon's head, he spotted a pink Crest quietly half-buried in the sand—and curiously reached down to pick it up.

Beelzemon pulled its right hand away from its wound and stared viciously at the blood on its palm. Lowering its head, it let out a laugh. "Enjoy my fury…! Gah—!"
Beelzemon rose to its feet. Its entire body trembled as veins bulged up through its skin. Black light erupted from its body and gathered at its back—then with a loud boom, two pairs of massive black wings burst out, spreading with imposing force as they shook in the air.
"Beelzemon Blast Mode—shift!" A gigantic firearm appeared and fused with its right hand. Calling it a gun was almost too mild—it was more like an arm-mounted hand cannon.
Beelzemon Blast Mode is a Mega Demon Lord whose power and spirit have been raised to the absolute limit. Unlike an evolution driven purely by evil, it retains a more stable mental state—its three vicious red eyes turning green. Compared to its normal form, it can unleash far greater power and speed, and four jet-black wings grow from its back. Before Beelzemon Blast Mode, no enemy can escape. Its right arm is fused with an Impact Blaster that fires intense energy waves capable of atomizing anything. Its signature move is "Death Slinger," a destructive shockwave fired from the right-arm blaster, and its special move is "Chaos Flare," drawing a magic circle ahead and releasing the same annihilating shockwave from its center.
Beelzemon aimed the massive cannon on its right arm at WarGreymon, the muzzle gathering energy. "Death Slinger!" A roaring energy shot screamed toward WarGreymon.
"Dramon Shield!" The Brave Shield on WarGreymon's back fused into a single plate and braced in front.
With a thunderous bang, WarGreymon was blasted away by the tremendous impact. Cracks spiderwebbed across the Dramon Shield as WarGreymon slammed into the desert, skidding a long distance before crashing into a dune. A spill of loose sand cascaded down, burying WarGreymon completely.
"Hah! Hah! Hah!" Beelzemon threw back its head and laughed. Then it abruptly turned, leveling the Berenjena SDX at Tai. "You're next."
Whoosh!
A wave of energy tore out from the dune and punched straight up into the sky, smashing into Beelzemon before it could react. Beelzemon was driven backward, its body plowing through several mountain peaks in a row, rocks exploding everywhere, until it finally slammed into a mountainside and ended up buried deep within the mountain range.
Boom! WarGreymon burst up from the sand dune, its left-arm Dramon Cannon still aimed at the area where Beelzemon had been. The blue cape behind it whipped in the wind with a loud flap-flap.
"Dramon Cannon!" WarGreymon braced the cannon with its right hand as the muzzle poured out relentless firepower. Flames swallowed the entire mountain, rubble blasting outward. When the smoke finally cleared, the mountain that had stood there—over a hundred meters tall—had been completely flattened.
"Firepower Storm!" The Chrome Digizoid plating over WarGreymon's chest shifted open, revealing hidden missile ports. Dramon Missiles of terrifying power shot out with white smoke trailing behind, streaking toward the shattered rock field.
Beelzemon snapped its wings open and surged out of the rubble with a rush. Raising the Berenjena SDX in its right hand and a shotgun in its left, it fired in a continuous barrage. "Death Mega Cannon!" A torrent of bullets collided head-on with WarGreymon's Dramon Missiles.
Firelight swallowed both sides' vision, yet no matter how WarGreymon and Beelzemon moved and fired, both could still pinpoint the other with perfect accuracy—launching attacks, shooting down incoming fire, or blasting straight at the opponent.
Wherever the storm of flames passed, mountains and hills were reduced to shattered stone. Crater after crater opened in the earth, thin plumes of blue-gray smoke rising straight into the sky.
At last, both sides halted their attacks and remained on the peaks of two separate mountains, staring at each other across the gap. WarGreymon's chest armor opened, and a deep, ominous cannon barrel extended outward. Armor plates automatically braced behind it as it began charging. "Infinite Dimensional Energy Cannon!"
Beelzemon put away the shotgun, then drew a purple magic square in the air before it with both hands. "Chaos Flare!" A shockwave that broke through everything and obliterated all in its path surged forward—at the same moment, WarGreymon's Infinite Dimensional Energy Cannon fired.
An orange-yellow beam and a purple energy wave slammed into each other. The blinding flare swallowed even the sunlight overhead. The shockwave from the explosion's center howled outward, sweeping away all surrounding dust—and even the lighter chunks of rubble were blown clean off the ground.
WarGreymon's blue cape snapped violently in the storm. The recoil of the chest cannon's full output carved two long, deep trenches behind WarGreymon's feet as it fought to hold its ground.
Tai flicked his right hand. A ball of light condensed in his palm and stretched longer and longer—then he kicked off the ground and launched himself into the air, rapidly closing in on Beelzemon, who was fully committed to the clash of energy.
With a sharp lift of his right arm, the sacred sword now formed in his hand—Genesis Blade—came down in a heavy slash. Beelzemon had already felt the killing intent from behind and forced its body to shift, but it was too late.
Slash! Slash! Tai swung Genesis Blade and severed two of Beelzemon's wings from its back.
"Gah!" Beelzemon's face twisted in agony. Its hands faltered, and the output of Chaos Flare weakened for a moment. WarGreymon seized that opening instantly, doubling its output—its Infinite Dimensional Energy Cannon smashed through Chaos Flare like it was rotting wood.
Sensing disaster, Beelzemon didn't even spare Tai a glance. It immediately sprang away from its position.
The Infinite Dimensional Energy Cannon grazed past Beelzemon's body and slammed into a towering mountain, erasing it from the Digital World entirely—leaving only a massive crater, and molten lava glowing inside.
Beelzemon staggered upright, half its body charred black. Only one wing remained, ragged and broken. It raised the shotgun in its left hand and aimed at the approaching WarGreymon. "How could I, Beelzemon, lose?!"
Bang! The shotgun blast punched a small hole into the ground.
WarGreymon appeared behind Beelzemon. With both hands clenched around the Dramon Sword, it chopped down into the earth. A thin seam appeared across Beelzemon's body—then widened in an instant. Beelzemon's upper half slid free, and before it could even hit the ground, it dispersed into data and vanished.
"This is the third one. I'll have the set soon." Daemon stared at the third Crest that appeared in its hand, smug with satisfaction. "Now it's time for a little experiment. If it succeeds…"
"Why did I lose? Why did I lose?" The Digimon Emperor knelt there, left hand propping him up as his right fist hammered the ground again and again. "Why? Everything was supposed to be perfect—so why did I lose? This is the worst result… the worst possible ending to a battle."
