Chibomon jumped down, bathing in the golden light. A layer of gold washed over its body—then it Digivolved into Veemon. Veemon stared at himself in confusion. "I Digivolved… why?" This was the first time Veemon had ever Digivolved on his own.
The golden light grew even brighter, pouring out of the engine room and illuminating the towering cylindrical chamber that seemed to stretch from sky to earth. It even pierced the steel walls, spreading outward into the world beyond.
When the light finally drew in, what appeared before Davis and the others was a golden Digi-Egg, its edges stained with black, faintly glowing. Inside it, a petal-like emblem pattern shimmered. The black stains slowly faded, returning to pure gold.
Then a golden-green radiance burst out, completely covering the Digi-Egg. Davis thought he heard it make some kind of sound—but he couldn't make it out.
The Digi-Egg flew straight toward Davis. He reached out with both hands and caught it.
At the same time, Kari and the others' Digimon—still near that window—were also bathed in the light. They felt their strength fully restored, and Poromon and the others even Digivolved from their baby forms back into their Rookie forms.
Far away, Kimeramon—already flying away from the Digimon Emperor's base—suddenly seemed to sense something. Its massive body curved in the air and turned back, rushing toward the base again… right at the moment that golden Digi-Egg released its dazzling glow.
"Tai, let me Digivolve," Agumon said to Tai behind him. Tai and Agumon were standing on a mountaintop not far from the Digimon Emperor's base, and in the distance Kimeramon was rapidly approaching.
Tai nodded and took out the Crest of Courage. Seven-colored light shone out, passed through the Digivice's screen, and poured over Agumon.
"Agumon, Warp Digivolve—WarGreymon!"
"Gaia Force!" WarGreymon shot into the sky and charged Kimeramon head-on, launching an energy blast right away.
"Death the Cannon!" From the side, two streaks of light suddenly appeared and struck the Gaia Force, detonating it early. Kimeramon tore straight through the explosion, slipped past WarGreymon, and surged toward the Digimon Emperor's base.
WarGreymon turned to pursue, but two more shots came screaming in from the same direction. WarGreymon quickly raised the Brave Shield on his back and blocked the attack.
WarGreymon knew he wouldn't be able to chase Kimeramon unless he dealt with this unknown enemy first. He flew toward that mountain ridge—and as he did, bullets kept ripping toward him. WarGreymon dodged each one, closed the distance, and finally saw the attacker: a Digimon with four eyes, holding two shotguns, both barrels aimed straight at him.
"Who are you? Why are you stopping me?" WarGreymon demanded, tense and guarded. Years of battle instinct told him this opponent was dangerous.
"Hah! Hah! Hah! I'm Beelzemon, one of the Seven Great Demon Lords. You're strong—fight me!" Beelzemon leveled both guns and opened fire.
Beelzemon possessed the ability to command vast numbers of Demon-type Digimon, yet remained a lone, proud Demon Lord Digimon—a terrifying demonic warrior with overwhelming destructive power. Because he was quiet and indifferent to others, he was seen as having a cool personality. In truth, he loved battle more than anyone. He was considered one of the strongest Digimon, and anyone who still dared challenge Beelzemon was nothing but a fool.
As one of the "Seven Great Demon Lords," it was said that if Beelzemon wished it, he could stand at the very top of the dark legion known as the "Nightmare Soldiers." However, there were also rumors that Demon Lord Digimon even more powerful than Beelzemon existed.
Wielding his favored shotguns, "Berenjena," the special attack they fired—"Death the Cannon"—had tremendous power. But even more dangerous was Beelzemon's rapid-fire skill. Many enemies had been struck down by that near-light-speed barrage. He also rode a massive motorcycle-type machine known as "Behemoth."
Cold, ruthless, and fiercely proud, Beelzemon would never gang up on the weak. One of his techniques was "Darkness Claw," in which he swung razor-sharp hook claws to tear foes apart—a final "compliment" delivered in a low voice to a fool.
His finishing move was "Double Impact," a continuous barrage fired from both shotguns. Any fool who could no longer move could only remain Beelzemon's target practice until their breathing stopped.
Double Impact — Rapid-fire from both shotguns.
Darkness Claw — Swinging sharp hook claws to rip enemies apart.
Heartbreak Shot
Quick Shot
Jewel (PaoYù)
Beast King Fist (Juuouken) — A lion's face appears on the arm, releasing an energy wave. Only a Beelzemon who has absorbed Leomon's data can use it.
"Double Impact!" Beelzemon drew both shotguns and fired in a continuous stream, retreating as he shot, trying to widen the gap.
"Gaia Force!" WarGreymon gathered energy in his hands and fired, shattering every incoming bullet into fragments without losing speed—still charging straight at Beelzemon.
"Veemon, let's try it," Davis said heavily, raising the Digi-Egg in his hands.
"Yeah!" Veemon nodded hard.
"Armor Digivolve!" The golden Digi-Egg flared again, its blinding light engulfing Veemon.
"Veemon, Armor Digivolve—Magnamon!"
Magnamon was a Holy Knight-type Armor Digimon born from the power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles—a golden warrior created by miracles sparked from purity, hope, and kindness. The Digi-Egg of Miracles possessed the attribute of "Metal," forged from the super-metal known as "Time DigiZoid."
Magnamon boasted immense defensive power, while its offensive strength rivaled that of Mega-level Digimon. It prided itself on having the greatest defense among the Royal Knights—truly worthy of the name golden holy warrior.
Any Digimon that gains the power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles can, no matter how desperate the situation, turn disaster into safety through miraculous force—making it a true "miracle item."
Its special attacks included the sphere-shaped plasma projectile "Plasma Shot," and an energy wave released from its entire body by pushing the Digi-Egg's power to the limit—"Extreme Jihad." There was also "Shining Gold Solar Storm," which rapidly compressed space, then expanded and detonated it in an instant, sweeping surrounding enemies away with golden lasers.
In addition, the full-body energy wave unleashed by pushing the Digi-Egg's power to the absolute limit was Magnamon's unique ultimate forbidden technique. However, because its power was so great that it would clearly inflict accelerated damage upon Magnamon's own data, it was currently sealed.
Magnamon's entire body was wrapped in warm golden light. The Digimon Emperor stared blankly at the warrior floating in the air—and under that golden radiance, the unsettling pain in his head actually vanished.
"M-Magnamon…" Davis stared, thrilled, at the miracle warrior before him.
"What is that? I've never seen a Digimon like that!" Yolei said in shock, staring at the warrior bathed in golden miracle light.
"Is that a new kind of Armor Digivolution?" Cody asked, confused.
"No… every Crest should have its own Armor," T.K. muttered, equally puzzled.
"That should be the miracle Digi-Egg my brother mentioned… but wasn't that miracle Armor supposed to be with him? Why is there another one?" Kari said, uncertain.
Boom!
Kimeramon smashed through the wall of the Digimon Emperor's base and surged inside. The first thing it saw was Magnamon. With hatred burning in its eyes, Kimeramon opened its mouth and fired a Heat Viper.
Magnamon scooped Davis up and dodged to the side, avoiding the beam. Then Magnamon looked back at him. "Davis, get out of here. Leave this to me."
"Yeah!" Davis nodded and ran.
Wormmon spat out a strand of silk, latched onto a pillar, and swung over to the Digimon Emperor's side. "Ken, it's too dangerous here—let's get out!"
"Shut up. My Kimeramon is back." Without that golden light, Ken immediately slipped back into the Digimon Emperor again.
"It's not listening to you anymore!" Wormmon pleaded again.
"Enough!" The Digimon Emperor whipped Wormmon aside, knocking him down. His eyes returned to that smug look as he raised his voice. "Kimeramon—"
Magnamon charged straight at Kimeramon. Kimeramon lifted an arm and smacked Magnamon away. Magnamon planted both feet against the wall, pushed off hard, and shot right back in—raising his fist.
"Giant Fist Impact!"
A tremendous shockwave blasted out, sending Kimeramon flying into the wall and smashing a hole straight through it.
With a thunderous crash, Kimeramon's huge head slammed back through the opening—and Davis, who had just run past, was nearly crushed.
Kimeramon got stuck there for a moment, unable to move. Magnamon seized the opening and launched a rapid chain of attacks.
"Giant Star Kick!"
"Giant Fist Impact!"
Powerful fists and kicks hammered Kimeramon's head over and over, snapping it side to side as Kimeramon roared in fury.
Kimeramon finally yanked its body free of the hole and immediately fired a Heat Viper. Magnamon barely managed to dodge, but the beam struck the wall above the Digimon Emperor, melting it into a blazing red stream of molten metal.
"Where are you aiming, Kimeramon?!" the Digimon Emperor roared, furious—he had almost been killed.
Kimeramon's powerful Garurumon legs kicked off the wall. It lunged straight at the Digimon Emperor who had just shouted at it, jaws opening wide as it prepared to fire another Heat Viper.
Facing death head-on, the Digimon Emperor froze in terror, unable to move—only able to wait for death to arrive.
"Giant Star Kick!"
Magnamon drove a heavy kick into Kimeramon, knocking it aside. The Heat Viper shot off at an angle, carving a long, deep gash across the base wall.
Kimeramon turned back and slapped Magnamon down with one massive hand. Magnamon stumbled, crashed downward, and vanished quickly into the darkness below.
