Chapter 83 - Rhonin

Three days later.

The three-person elite squad finally arrived at the entrance of Grim Batol. As soon as they arrived, the enemies seemed to have the ability to foresee, and orcs surrounded them from all directions.

Vereesa was a bit surprised; everything felt peculiar. Since they had crossed the swamp, there had only been a few scattered orc scouts along the way, all of whom she had killed with an arrow.

The progress was unbelievably smooth, and now it seemed they had been set up!

She had been thinking about things all the way, and now she finally remembered that she seemed to have experienced this mission before, but the details, process, and outcome had all been forgotten.

She couldn't remember anything, only that the people and scenery she had seen along the way had a sense of déjà vu.

She took out her bow and shot an orc on the left, saying, "Falstad and I will distract the enemies. You go in first; you are the key. Go, don't worry about us."

Without a novice mage here needing protection and holding them back, a ranger and a Warrior could completely escape before the orcs could encircle them.

"Can you two do it?"

Rhonin was a bit restless. He only remembered that he was here to investigate the unusual activity of the Dragonmaw orcs, and it seemed there was also a red dragon assisting the Horde behind this. Even he himself was a bit confused about what he was actually here for.

That feeling of being trapped in time, repeating over and over, and forgetting over and over.

When the key figures were not present, they could only endlessly loop at the stuck points.

Not many people knew why this abnormal time was happening; perhaps only those bronze dragons who loved to toy with time, only to be toyed with by time themselves, knew what was going on.

"The Sin'dorei are stronger than you think!" Vereesa said, then darted out, swiftly nocking an arrow to her bow.

Arrows flew one after another, accurately hitting the target with a headshot through the eye.

She ducked, twisted, and jumped, perfectly avoiding the flying axe attack.

Her right hand precisely pulled out the used arrow, and upon landing, she re-nocked another arrow.

Running and shooting, all in one fluid motion, perfectly demonstrating the agility of a High ranger.

The smooth movements and flowing golden hair perfectly showcased the elves' athleticism.

The dwarf Warrior, Falstad, also let out a roar, frequently dodging attacks using the advantage of his short stature.

He held two battle axes, each weighing sixty catties, which would be difficult for an ordinary person to even hold with both hands, but the dwarf Warrior handled them with ease, without any sense of obstruction.

The two, one going left and one going right, swiftly drew away the orcs.

Seeing this, Rhonin had no choice but to duck and enter Grim Batol, using his Invisibility Spell to trick many of the stationed orcs along the way.

Even with chaos erupting outside, the guards inside showed no disturbance; those on duty remained on guard, and those patrolling continued their patrols without a care.

Fortunately, there were no hounds here, otherwise even a mage's invisibility would be broken by their sense of smell.

Every creature has varying degrees of body odor, especially warriors, who, with their high activity levels, have a strong smell of sweat.

Often, patrols using hound-type pets have a high probability of discovering these unseen, yet objectively present, stealthy individuals.

As a dwarf city, to excavate such a massive city underground, with intricate, winding paths that traverse both canyons and lava, was a marvel.

Even old dwarves familiar with the roads would often get lost, let alone Rhonin, who was new to the place.

Fortunately, the black dragon's emblem in his hand guided him, and after an hour of trekking, he finally reached the deepest part.

This was a huge palace. Looking through the passageway, he could see many dragon eggs inside, and a massive red dragon sleeping, seemingly guarding these dragon eggs.

There were no orc guards here, not even sentries, which was very strange.

"Do you see the dragon?" The emblem flickered a few times, and Deathwing's voice appeared.

"I see it."

Rhonin really didn't want to cooperate with the black dragon, but when he, this exceptionally gifted mage, attacked Deathwing with all his might, the other party completely absorbed the spell attacks without the slightest resistance.

His strongest attack was not even a tickle to Deathwing, while a casual blow from him almost killed Rhonin.

Facing such a powerful enemy, forced cooperation, however unwilling, had to continue, otherwise, what awaited him would surely be a fate worse than death!

"Go in and see if there are any dragon eggs."

As soon as Deathwing finished speaking, a huge Fire Elemental Giant, entirely formed from fire elements, appeared before him.

Even from twenty meters away, one could feel its intense heat. Such elemental creatures were difficult to deal with; flesh and blood creatures feared high temperatures. Even if one fought in high temperatures, they couldn't last long before their bodies would blister, causing unbearable pain.

Rhonin was confident he could deal with the Elemental Giant, but the commotion would be too great and would attract the orcs.

If he didn't eliminate it, his Invisibility Spell would be broken by the high temperature.

Just as he was at a loss, Deathwing seemed to know his predicament and spoke with a mocking tone, "Are you in trouble?"

Rhonin was already annoyed with him, and now being mocked, he simply gave up. "Yes, a huge Fire Elemental Giant is blocking the passageway. I can't get through."

He had a way, but he wasn't going to say it!

Deathwing didn't know about his defiant thoughts, only sneered, "Hold up my emblem and walk past it; that elemental won't stop you."

Giant?

To humans, it was a giant, but to Deathwing, it was just a burning worm, easily crushed with one paw!

Rhonin was skeptical, but he had no better option at the moment, so he could only try holding up the emblem and walking forward.

Indeed, the Elemental Giant seemed completely unaware of his presence.

Enduring the scorching heat, he quickly walked past, and looking back, it truly hadn't noticed him.

So he quickly ran inside. The palace inside still had a magical barrier, but he could see the situation inside through the barrier.

There were many red dragon eggs, guarded by a massive dragon.

And another giant dragon was looking at him with a playful gaze, yes, that's right, playful!

Rhonin swore by the arcane that he had actually seen an expression typically found only in humans in a dragon's eyes.

"Did you see the dragon eggs?"

"I saw them. There are two red giant dragons inside, and many, many dragon eggs!" Rhonin said subconsciously, completely unaware if the other party would hear his conversation with Deathwing.

The next second, an anomaly occurred.

A trace of power flashed from the black dragon's emblem, and a powerful spell knocked Rhonin unconscious.

Without any defense, Rhonin was directly knocked out.

Before he fainted, he seemed to hear the playful voice of the red dragon. "So it's you, human delivery boy Rhonin!"
