Chapter 114 - CH 114 Pain and guilt

"I know" she cut him off, and his heart jerked. He lifted his head slowly and turned to her. His eyes met hers, he gulped.

"You... you know...what?" he asked, his body tingling in fear.

"I know what you are. You're part human...part demon." she told him.

He shuddered within. She knew. She knew all this while. His lips parted but no words could leave his mouth. It trembled and he pressed it into a thin line, lowering his head.

"I'm... I'm sorry, Aria" he choked out. "I'm sorry. I.. I couldn't control it. I'm sorry" she didn't say a word and just looked away. "Aria, please.." He bit his lips hard, stopping them from trembling. He wanted touch her but he restrained himself. He could only clench them tight. He waited for her to say something but she didn't. His eyes fell on her bloody shirt and sheets and pain tugged his heart. She bled a lot. He stood up and left and unknowingly she heaved a sigh. A part of her felt relieved that he had left. While another part felt sad and disappointed. She turned her gaze to the window, and wiped the tears that escaped her eyes. A few moments passed and he came back with a first aid kit in his hands. He walked to her and sat on the bed. What was he trying to do?

Ryan turned to her. He couldn't even look in her eyes. Slowly, he moved his hand towards her neck, slowly removing the hair away. His eyes caught the wounds he caused her, he bit the insides of his lips. They were deep. Arianna moved her head, causing her hair to glide away from his hands. He looked at her, knowing she was angry. Who wouldn't be?

Ryan opened the box and took out a cotton swab. He attempted to wipe the blood off her neck. "I can do it myself" she spoke sternly, without looking at him.

"L-let me do it for you. Please"

She glanced his way and immediately moved her eyes. Ryan inched closer and moved her hair. He wiped the blood off gently, and she hissed at the pain she felt.

"Sorry" he told her, and continued. After wiping the blood from her neck, he put ointment on his index, and applied on her wound. She flinched. Gently, he applied it, and at intervals she would flinch. He noticed, she didn't want him to touch her. Ryan lifted his eyes and looked at her, gulping hardly.

"A-are you afraid of me now?" he asked and she looked at him. She stared at him for a few seconds before answering, giving a solid "No"

He felt relieved but still had to ask, "Why? I.. I hurt you. You've seen what I am"

"Because, to me you're an angel. My guardian angel. You wouldn't hurt me on purpose" she told him. His heart fluttered at her words, with both pain and happiness. How can she still call him guardian angel at this time?

"I'm sorry" he said again, almost a whisper. "I'm sorry, Aria. I didn't mean to. I didn't mean to hurt you like this.."

"When were you going to tell me anyway?" she asked him "You didn't have plans on doing that. You were fine keeping me in the dark and assuming you're human. You didn't care to tell me. You were fine lying!" she yelled.

"I'm sorry. I... I was afraid. I was afraid that...you'll leave. You.. wouldn't want to love a person like me" he told her. His eyes filled with raw pain and guilt. Misted with tears that begged to be released. "Forgive me, please. I'm truly sorry"

"Leave" she told him, turning her face away from him.

"Aria..."

"I said leave! I don't want to talk to you" she said, and tears rolled out of his eyes. He didn't want to. He didn't want to leave, he was going to keep apologizing. But then the door flung open and Zariel rushed in. Her eyes were wide with horror as she rushed to the bed and pushed Ryan away.

"Anna! Are you okay?!" she asked, frightened as she checked her body. She saw the wounds and she gasped.

"I'm okay" Arianna said.

Zariel turned to Ryan with a glare "Young master! What have you done?!" Ryan lowered his head, he was ashamed. Now Ms Jung would scold him again. "How could you hurt her like this? She was alone with you and look what you did! And you still have the guts to sit here beside her" she yelled at him.

"I didn't mean to" he choked out, looking up at her with his eyes that had turned red.

"I'm fine Ms. Jung" Arianna interrupted. She had never seen any of them scold him. He was always the bully, the one to scold.

"No you're not fine! Look at you. Look at what he did to you. You lost so much blood!" She cursed out loud, making Aria flinch. "Come, we'll go to the hospital" she tried to lift her up.

"I'm fine. I don't want to go anywhere"

"Anna..."

"Please"

Zariel sighed and agreed to her wish. She looked at Ryan with a hard glare. "Leave! For the rest of the day, I don't want to see you anywhere around her" she ordered sternly. Ryan looked at them, his jaws clenched, but Aria refused to look at him. To see the pain in his eyes. He stood up and walked out, dejected.

"Come wash up and change your clothes" Zariel told her and she stood up. Her body was numb and her head ached, but she managed. Zariel was feeling sorry. She should have told her to run away from him whenever the pain starts. Sometimes, like this, he could hurt someone. Good thing he didn't kill her or else... he would die of guilt. His pain would be forever. And a sweet girl would be gone...for good.
