The morning sun had fully crested over the sprawling, historic grounds of Konoha, casting golden rays against the red walls of the Hokage Tower. Yet, there was no warmth in that light. The silence hanging over the village was so profound, so terrifyingly deep, that even the whisper of the morning wind sounded like a looming storm.
Across the vast square, as far as the eye could see, the lethal assassins of 'Root' lay unconscious. Not a single drop of blood had been spilled, but the unmistakable scent of absolute defeat permeated the air.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, having just relinquished his title as Hokage, stood frozen. His eyes were locked onto the seven-year-old boy—Naruto Uzumaki. Slowly, Hiruzen's gaze drifted past the child, taking in the imposing ranks of the Uchiha Clan, the Edo-Tensei form of Kushina Uzumaki, and the shattered empire Danzo had cultivated in the shadows for decades.
A new, profound anxiety crept onto Hiruzen's wrinkled face. It wasn't merely the fear of defeat; it was the terror of a paradigm shift he could no longer control.
"Are you..." Hiruzen's voice wavered slightly, as if he dreaded the answer, "Are you planning to leave Konoha?"
Naruto heard the question, but his face remained devoid of surprise or hesitation. His blue eyes, which belonged to a seven-year-old, carried the cosmic calm of centuries.
"A plan?"
Naruto slowly shook his head. There was no arrogance in his response, nor any spite.
"No. This is not a plan, Third Hokage."
For a brief moment, Naruto's gaze swept across the square. He looked at the faces that had glared at him with hatred just yesterday, now trembling with awe and terror. He looked at the walls etched with the village's laws, and he felt the rot of a system that had stood on a foundation of lies for far too long.
"My work here is done," Naruto said, his tone entirely flat.
Hiruzen's eyes narrowed. His hands trembled.
Naruto lowered his voice—a quietness far more intimidating than any roar.
"Now, it is your turn."
He shifted his gaze down to Danzo Shimura, who lay bound in chains amidst the dust and his own blood.
"I have dragged the deepest darkness of this village into the light. I have shown you, and this entire world, where it hid, what it was doing, and what its true face is. Now, it is your job to clean up the trash."
Hearing this, a sudden, sharp glint flashed in Shikaku Nara's eyes. His genius mind, which viewed everything as pieces on a shogi board, violently snapped the puzzle pieces of the past few months together.
The first day at the Academy...
The dangerous questions asked in front of everyone...
The strike against the lies...
The exposure of Danzo...
The dismantling of Root...
The allegiance of the Uchiha...
The return of Kushina...
Everything. Every single move. Every single word.
For the first time in his life, Shikaku realized with blinding clarity that Naruto's presence in Konoha was never a simple story about "survival," "finding his place," or "becoming Hokage." This child never had any intention of becoming a gear in this village's machine.
The very first question he had fearlessly asked the world on that day was terrifyingly simple:
"What is the truth?"
And today, Konoha had given him a massive, bitter, horrifying, and blood-soaked answer to that question.
Shikaku's heart pounded. He stepped forward immediately, a note of desperation bleeding into his voice.
"So... you are really leaving?"
Naruto turned his calm blue eyes toward Shikaku.
Shikaku tried his hardest to inject reason and logic into the moment.
"But there is no need for you to leave, Naruto! The system is changing. Lady Tsunade will become the new Hokage. Danzo is finished. If you want, you can stay right here, in your home. There is no one left in all of Konoha who is in a position to stop you or stand against you."
Hiruzen grasped at the fragile thread Shikaku had thrown, trying to salvage the situation.
"Shikaku is right, Naruto... The Fire Daimyo is completely on your side. If you are truly unhappy with the administration of this village and wish to leave, the Daimyo himself stated that you could be granted your own land within this country. You can build your home wherever you wish—"
Naruto gently raised his hand, and Hiruzen's words froze in the air.
There was no anger in Naruto's eyes, nor any resentment. There was only a strange, cosmic clarity—like a deity who had outgrown the attachments of the mortal realm.
"I am not looking for a home."
Hiruzen fell silent. A heavy quiet descended upon the square.
Naruto looked toward the horizon, where high up in the sky, the massive, mystical 'Sky Fortress' asserted its regal presence among the clouds. Behind him, the most powerful clan in Konoha stood fully prepared for their new future.
"I am looking for exactly what I have been telling all of you, this entire village, from the very beginning."
A short, heavy pause.
When Naruto spoke again, his voice was deeper, resonating straight into the souls of everyone listening.
"The truth."
Naruto turned his head for one final look at Danzo, who was swallowing the bitter ashes of his defeat in the dirt.
"Konoha has given me one truth." A faint, enigmatic smile touched Naruto's lips. "Now, I need to know... what the rest of the world is hiding."
Lying in the dirt, Danzo Shimura—the man who called himself the 'Darkness of the Shinobi'—stared at the inconceivable scene with his one remaining, bloodshot eye.
He watched as the proudest, most arrogant, and most feared clan in Konoha—the Uchiha Clan—willingly, and with their full honor, stood behind a seven-year-old child like a loyal army.
Danzo's blood boiled. His twisted psychology, his decades-old arrogance of power, and his absolute delusion of righteousness violently flared up.
"Have you all gone insane?!" Danzo screamed, throwing the last scraps of his energy into his voice. His face was purple with rage, veins bulging against his skin.
"All of you Uchiha... the most powerful people in this world... you will follow a seven-year-old child?! Have you forgotten your own history?! Have you forgotten why, years ago, your ancestors abandoned Madara Uchiha and chose to side with Hashirama Senju?!"
Danzo's echoing voice spread across the square, laced with the political venom and manipulation he had honed over a lifetime. He was trying to trap them in the cage of their own history.
"Hashirama promised you a safe haven! A home where the Uchiha would find refuge, peace, and respect! Konoha is your home!" Danzo coughed, shouting through the pain. "And today... you are throwing that history, that pride, at the feet of an unknown child?! You will become wandering shinobi, following a washed-up missing-nin?!"
At Danzo's biting words, a brief silence fell over the square.
It was historical fact. Generations ago, the Uchiha Clan had turned their backs on their own charismatic leader, Madara, and embraced Hashirama's vision of peace. They had trusted Hashirama because he promised them a secure future and a home.
But Danzo's gamble was about to backfire spectacularly.
Fugaku Uchiha, who had stood in silence until now, turned his gaze toward Danzo. There was no hesitation or confusion on his face. Instead, his expression held a deep, piercing, and icy contempt that shredded Danzo's hollow logic in an instant.
"Yes, Danzo..." Fugaku's cold, heavy voice echoed, freezing Danzo to the core. "You are absolutely right. Years ago, Lord Hashirama promised us a safe haven. And trusting that promise, our ancestors laid the foundation of Konoha and rejected Madara."
Fugaku narrowed his Sharingan eyes, casting a glance over the thousands of Uchiha warriors standing behind him.
"But ask yourself... and ask this village... what happened to that promise? What did that 'safe haven' give us?"
Fugaku's voice began to rise, boiling over with the pain and furious anger of centuries of betrayal.
"I will tell you what we got! A knife in the back! A web of political deceit! We were shoved into the corner of the village, spied upon, and ultimately... conspiracies were hatched by the so-called 'protectors' of this village to slaughter our innocent children, our women, and our elders in the dead of night!"
Goosebumps erupted across the skin of the civilians and other clan members in the square.
"That promise of Hashirama... that dream of peace... was broken a long time ago by this rotting system and scum like you, Danzo!" Fugaku roared, pointing a furious finger at the fallen elder. "A home that vows to strangle us and wipe us out from the roots instead of nurturing us is not a home... it is a slaughterhouse!"
Fugaku turned to look directly at Naruto. Amidst the massive political and emotional upheaval, Naruto's blue eyes remained as still as a boundless, tranquil ocean.
"And today..." Fugaku's tone shifted into pure reverence, "when the very people of this Konoha raised their own weapons to erase us, no heir of Hashirama came to save us. Your Konoha came to kill us."
Fugaku bowed his head entirely before Naruto.
"...We were saved by this seven-year-old child. He showed us the truth that your entire world, your entire system, is terrified of."
Fugaku looked back at his Uchiha shinobi. There was no illusion, no sorrow, and no regret in their eyes. Today, they felt truly liberated.
"Even if we become Wandering Shinobi from today... even if the world calls us missing-nin, even if we have no permanent home... we will no longer chase a hollow, false promise that only offers us death. We will follow the truth that has given us new life today."
Danzo ground his teeth together. Blood seeped from his jaw. He had no words left to say. His greatest weapon—using history to divide and manipulate—had failed completely. The Uchiha had learned through their bitter experiences and Naruto's guidance that the path of truth, even if it leads through the darkness of uncertainty, is far more precious than golden palaces built on false promises.
Naruto witnessed this absolute surrender from Fugaku. He didn't deliver a grand speech. He simply gave a slight nod, acknowledging their loyalty.
That chapter of Konoha was permanently closed. Stepping out of Konoha's dark shadow, the Uchiha Clan took their first steps toward a completely new and unknown journey with Naruto.
Danzo's arrogance, his strategy, and his historical manipulation had collapsed in a single stroke. Surrounded on all sides, covered in dirt and his own blood, Danzo finally, completely lost his grip on sanity.
His single eye grew blood-red, twitching erratically. He raised a trembling finger directly at the Uchiha Clan.
Danzo screamed at the top of his lungs, "You are lying! You... Yes! You people are the ones who stole Shisui Uchiha's eyes! Yes, this is all a farce! You controlled the jinchūriki and now you are putting on this entire drama! You Uchiha are all devils! You are the ones who use Shisui's eye on me... Yes, you did it!"
Danzo was now fully unhinged. Unable to withstand the crushing weight of the truth, he began hurling absurd, nonsensical accusations at the Uchiha. He had lost his mind entirely. Every word he spoke sounded like the pathetic shrieks of a madman thrashing in the air seconds before his death.
But Naruto didn't look at him with anger or hatred.
Naruto continued to look at him with those same pitiful eyes—the exact same way one looks at a madman on the side of the street muttering to himself.
Danzo darted his frantic, uncontrollable gaze around the square. He saw that every Clan Head standing there (Shikamaru, Choza, Inoichi, Hyuga), and even the ordinary civilians and shinobi of Konoha, were looking at him with strange, pitiful, and disgusted expressions. He realized that not a single soul in the world believed a fraction of a percent of what he was saying.
But the most devastating blow to his ego came when he looked at the Uchiha Clan. The Uchiha were looking at him as if watching a clown at a circus—someone to be laughed at and pitied simultaneously. The 'Darkness of Konoha' had been reduced to a cheap jester.
And then... that was the moment when Itachi, the shinobi renowned worldwide for mastering his emotions, couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Hahaha..."
A soft, but distinct chuckle escaped Itachi's lips.
The very next second, Fugaku Uchiha, who always maintained the strict, stoic demeanor of a Clan Head, abandoned all his seriousness and burst into open laughter.
"Hahahaha!"
With Fugaku's laughter breaking the dam, the thousands of Uchiha shinobi standing there joined in, erupting into roaring laughter. The echoing laughter of the Uchiha Clan across that historic square utterly obliterated Danzo's lunatic drama and his false pride. The walls of Konoha trembled with the sound.
Fugaku wiped a tear of mirth from his eye, looked at Naruto, and said with immense pride—
"Naruto... you truly are a genius! Because of you, solely because of this master plan of yours, I get to witness the most hilarious and magnificent sight of my life today!"
Danzo's mind went completely numb. His face turned blue with rage, humiliation, and indignity. He shrieked like a madman—
"What nonsense is this?! All of you... what are you doing?! What are you laughing at?! What bullshit is this... you... who are you?!"
Screaming, Danzo pointed his trembling finger at the masked shinobi standing right beside Fugaku, who had remained entirely silent and motionless until now—the 'Hawk', wearing a porcelain mask with only a single eyehole.
"You!" Danzo screamed, "Who are you to stand with the Uchiha and watch my spectacle?! Take off your mask!"
Every eye in the square instantly locked onto the masked figure. Tsunade, Shikaku, and even Hiruzen were desperate to know the true identity of this mysterious 'Hawk' who commanded such respect among the Uchiha.
The masked shinobi showed no haste. With calm, deliberate movements, he raised both hands and gently pulled the single-eyed porcelain mask away from his face.
The moment his face was revealed to the world...
Thousands of breaths caught in their throats simultaneously across the square. The silence grew so profound that even the wind seemed to stop blowing.
Tsunade's eyes widened in sheer disbelief. Hiruzen's pipe slipped from his slack jaw, clattering to the ground. And Danzo... Danzo felt as if his blood had instantly frozen in his veins. His heartbeat stopped.
That 'Hawk' was none other than...
Shisui Uchiha!
There was no fear, no weakness, and no exhaustion on Shisui's face. Both of his eyes were perfectly intact, and the brilliant crimson glow of his Mangekyō Sharingan was fully active within them. He was alive, he was perfectly healthy, and he stood tall as the ultimate, living proof of every single lie, every conspiracy, and every sin Danzo had ever committed.
Every person in Konoha was in shock. Shisui Uchiha, the man believed to be dead, had returned to witness the fall of Konoha.
And Danzo... the remnants of Danzo's world, his entire empire of lies, was now permanently, irrevocably destroyed.
Danzo trembled so violently from the shock that his knees scraped against the dirt. He began to mutter like a lunatic—
"This... how is this possible?! We saw your corpse... your one eye was destroyed! I had your other eye... was that a fake?! Is nothing real in this world anymore?! Is this all an illusion?!"
Shisui replied with a calm, yet piercingly sharp smile—
"No, Danzo. This is no illusion. You truly did gouge out my eye... your 'Root' men truly did ambush me. And the jutsu of my eye, Kotoamatsukami, is no lie. The real problem was that you picked the wrong person to mess with."
Shisui shifted his gaze away from Danzo and locked it onto Naruto. His eyes held boundless respect for the boy.
"Naruto always knew how to counter an invincible technique like Kotoamatsukami. He told me the foolproof counter to it during our conversation a month ago... and he has several other methods as well. To tell you the truth, Danzo, in front of Naruto's intellect, that supreme technique of mine is nothing but trash."
Naruto immediately interjected, his tone highly philosophical and grave—
"No, Shisui, that is not true. That technique could prove to be a nightmare for anyone, especially when they don't know it exists. It is the most powerful genjutsu in the world. But..."
Naruto looked toward the crowd, and then back at Danzo, explaining,
"But once an intelligent shinobi learns that such a jutsu exists, they constantly review their own thoughts even after being subjected to its effects. They begin to doubt every emotion, every sudden decision they make. They choose the most logical option available, and they seek the counsel of those around them—which makes it impossible to completely mentally control a person. Therefore, this technique must be used very carefully, very subtly..."
Naruto's voice took on that pitiful tone once more.
"...But Danzo, you are not capable of that. Your mindset is too small."
Naruto looked at Danzo with deep disdain.
"You simply saw a power, and without understanding it deeply, without knowing its philosophy, you ran like a madman to claim it."
Naruto let out a long sigh and laughed—
"Danzo... instead of stealing Shisui's eye, you should have used Shisui to cast Kotoamatsukami on me! Perhaps then you would have succeeded... or perhaps not."
Naruto laughed out loud.
"And even if you did that, you still wouldn't have succeeded. Because I have friends in the Hyuga Clan who could see my chakra network."
Hearing this, Danzo's eyes widened. He realized that Naruto had utterly defeated him on every single front—power, strategy, and psychology.
Danzo took a deep breath and finally composed himself. A bitter, yet confident smile returned to his face. He was celebrating his defeat for the last time.
"Fine, I admit it, that was a very good move. I concede that I am completely defeated... but Naruto Uzumaki, you are making a massive mistake. You can never defeat this 'Darkness'."
There was a terrifying prophecy in Danzo's voice.
"You have no idea how vast the scope of darkness is within humanity. These people pretend to want peace, but in reality, they will do anything to remain in control. Human nature is inherently selfish. Darkness... always wins."
Naruto answered without a hint of hesitation, with absolute resolve—
"But hope always survives, too. And Danzo, remember this... just as darkness only needs one weak moment to win, it only takes one true heart to crush all of that darkness."
Danzo scoffed, letting out a mocking laugh—
"You are still a child, Naruto. Very naive. In time, you too will mold into the darkness of this world. I accept that I have lost and that today is your time... but sooner or later, power will make you just like me. You will become me!"
A calm, angelic smile floated onto Naruto's face.
"That is a possibility..." Naruto admitted, leaving Danzo stunned, "...but I found the cure for that disease a long time ago."
Danzo (surprised): "And what is that?"
Naruto: "Question me... and I will answer, no matter what happens."
Danzo: "What?! What does that mean?!"
Naruto stepped forward. There was a cosmic resonance in his voice.
"Yes. Darkness always affects an isolated, lonely mind... it corrupts those who believe themselves to be gods. But I have sought out the 'Warriors of Truth'. I am raising people who can stand up even against me if necessary, should I ever become like you or lose my way. And even if I die, this world will keep moving forward, because those warriors will protect the truth—that is my ambition."
Danzo smiled, but it was the smile of defeat.
"Even Hashirama wasn't that strong... and neither are you, child!"
Naruto returned a smile that sent a chill straight through Danzo's soul—
"Oh, poor Danzo... you have absolutely no idea the scope of my Will. I will keep moving forward, and I will gather these Warriors of Truth from all across the world."
Naruto delivered his final philosophical blow—
"And perhaps we can both agree on this one thing—this world always follows in the footsteps of the strong. But when a large group of strong people come together, they accept it as a 'System'. I am going to break that old system."
Naruto adopted a cold, immovable, and final tone—
"Your time is done. Goodbye, Danzo."
Naruto turned his back on Danzo. He looked at the Uchiha Clan standing behind him, at Kushina, and at the path of his future.
"Kurama!" Naruto's voice echoed across the entire square. "It's time to leave! Showtime!!"
A terrifying glint appeared in the eyes of the small, cute, white puppy-like creature (Mini Kurama) sitting on Kushina's shoulder.
"I've been waiting for this, kid!" Kurama's echoing laughter filled the air.
Kurama leaped from her shoulder. The moment he stepped into the air, his body began to expand rapidly. In the blink of an eye, that tiny creature transformed into a colossal, demonic, and majestic white fox! His nine massive tails waved like white fire, the chakra pressure radiating from them causing the ground of the square to crack.
With immense care and affection, Kurama lifted Kushina onto his giant head.
The villagers, who had been watching the spectacle in silence until now, panicked horribly at the sight. Screams of terror erupted. That cute little puppy had just become a gigantic, terrifying, and the world's most powerful nine-tailed beast. The shinobi of Konoha gripped their weapons tightly, but no one dared to take a single step forward.
Kushina, looking at the majestic form and power of her son's companion, burst into loud, joyous laughter, tears streaming down her face—
"This is absolutely amazing, Naruto! Hahahaha!"
Naruto smiled at his mother's childlike, innocent enthusiasm. His heart swelled. Then, he locked his eyes back onto Hiruzen and the new Hokage, Tsunade.
"And yes, I forgot one thing..." Naruto pointed his finger toward Orochimaru, who was hiding behind the ranks of the ANBU. "Orochimaru is mine. He used a Forbidden Jutsu (Edo Tensei) to defile my mother's body. Therefore, he will not sit in Konoha's prison; he will face the consequences of his actions before me."
Orochimaru, hiding behind the ANBU walls and looking for an opening to slip away, suddenly vanished into thin air. Before he could process what was happening, he crashed onto the ground right at Naruto's feet. Naruto's chakra had completely paralyzed him.
Naruto hoisted Orochimaru up like a lifeless sack and tossed him casually through the air straight toward Itachi. Without blinking, Itachi effortlessly caught him mid-air, tucked him under his arm, and stepped back into line. Seeing a legendary Sannin reduced to this state made Tsunade and Hiruzen's souls tremble.
And then, the Great Departure began.
Led by the colossal white nine-tailed fox (Kurama), the Uchiha Clan began their historic march out of Konoha. The sound of their footsteps announced the birth of a new world upon the soil of Konoha.
History would not remember this day merely because the darkness of Konoha (Danzo) fell. History would remember this day because it was the day a seven-year-old child, accompanied by an invincible army, the world's most powerful clan, and a divine nine-tailed beast, stood up to challenge the darkness of the entire world.
Kushina continued to laugh joyously as they all marched out through the main gates of Konoha. Beyond the village borders, that massive 'Sky Fortress' awaited them.
As the final rank of the Uchiha Clan stepped past the village gates, ancient 'Fuinjutsu' sealing tags spread out in the air all around them like magic. A fierce tornado of chakra whipped up...
And with a resounding 'Poof!', Naruto, Kushina, Kurama, Orochimaru, and the entire Uchiha Clan vanished into thin air.
Left behind was only a silent, broken Konoha... and Danzo, choking on the dust of his defeat.
The pursuit of truth had now begun beyond the clouds.
