KAC-782 is a pair of worn, red leather shoes of unknown brand and age with its stitching pattern matching no known manufacturer. Despite heavy wear, the shoes never fully decompose, even when subjected to rot, fire, or chemical breakdown.
KAC-782 becomes active when worn by any sentient being. Once both shoes are fully secured onto the feet, the wearer loses all voluntary control over movement. The shoes force continuous walking or running, regardless of terrain, injury, exhaustion, or personal will. Removal becomes physically impossible without amputation or KAC intervention.
Individuals compelled by KAC-782 will:
- Dance until muscle failure, dehydration, or cardiac arrest.
- Continue Dancing even with broken bones, bleeding, or hypothermia.
- Show no response to verbal communication.

Subjects affected by KAC-782 exhibit the following progression:
Stage I — First Encounter
Those who encounter the shoes firsthand experience psychological compulsion to "wear the shoes" and becoming more "attracted to them. At first most subjects will question why they want to wear them.
Stage II — Slip on
Upon prolonged exposure to the shoes, the individual will attempt to wear them. And upon success, they begin to feel the urge to dance regardless of if they could prior or not.
Stage III — The Voice
The Subject will then notice that when they try to stop dancing, they are unable to. In their conscious mind, a voice will whisper to them "Do not take me off." The individual will then continuously dance without rest.
Stage IV — It Hurts to Dance
The individual will then bear scars and injuries from dancing after a prolonged period of dancing. There will be severe muscular tearing, stress fractures, heart overexertion, and blackened tissue along the soles as if frostbitten despite weather conditions.
Stage V — Death is the last dance
After about a month of dancing, the individual will succumb to their injuries and die.

KAC-782 does not locomote independently. It must be willingly worn. However, witnesses describe a mild psychological compulsion to "try them on," especially among individuals feeling aimless, hopeless, or stagnant in life.
