Chapter 2 - The Enchanted Levy and the Shadow Khan?

Levy... why does that name ring a bell?

Walking down the wide cobblestone street under a shared umbrella with the girl he'd just met, Roland's expression grew thoughtful.

"So, did you just arrive in town today?"

Levy tilted her head slightly, her shoulder-length blue hair falling to one side as she snuck glances at him.

Her free hand unconsciously pressed against her flat chest. Even now, she could still feel her heart pounding wildly.

She couldn't even bring herself to look away.

Could this be... what they call love at first sight in all those books?

At that thought, Levy's breathing grew heavier and her cheeks flushed even deeper, like she'd had too much to drink.

"Yeah, though I never expected to get scammed on my first day here..." Noticing the girl's strange behavior, Roland considered asking about it but decided against it.

Better to let the poor girl keep some dignity.

The distance from the park to Levy's place wasn't far. Chatting as they walked, they soon arrived at a large residential building on a hillside.

FAIRY HILLS

Reading the wooden sign above the entrance, Roland glanced back at the girl with an uncertain expression.

"No, no! It's just the girls' dormitory where I rent a room!" Levy quickly shook her head.

Roland forced a smile and pressed on. "Don't girls' dorms usually have a 'no men allowed' policy?"

"Well, yeah, but—" Levy carefully checked the entrance before whispering, "As long as Granny Hilda doesn't catch us, it's fine. Besides, we can go in through the second floor."

Why does this feel like we're having an affair...

Before Roland could say anything, Levy handed him the umbrella. Her slender finger traced elegant patterns in the air, as if writing invisible letters.

"Solid Script: FLOAT"

With her soft incantation, five translucent letters materialized in the rain, light and airy like balloons drifting in the wind.

Watching this impossible scene unfold, Roland suddenly remembered something.

His gaze immediately swept across the girl's exposed skin, quickly finding a distinctive white mark on her smooth left shoulder blade.

That mark represented a guild called "Fairy Tail."

No wonder her name sounded so familiar.

Roland's eyes widened. He genuinely hadn't expected to end up in this world.

After taking a moment to collect himself, he exhaled slowly and began recalling everything he knew about this world.

In terms of danger level, Fairy Tail was easily on par with the other big shounen series.

Just then, the girl's cheerful voice pulled him back.

Having finished her spell, Levy clapped her hands with an adorable smile. "Now just touch the letters in the air and you'll float up~"

Shaking off his thoughts, Roland—experiencing this world's magic for the first time—curiously reached out and touched the glowing white letters.

The next moment, his body began rising slowly, as if gravity had released its hold on him.

The girl's room was tucked in a corner on the second floor.

The moment Roland climbed through the window, he was greeted by rows of deep blue bookshelves. Books were scattered all over the floor, leaving barely any space to walk.

It looked less like a bedroom and more like a personal library.

"Um, I left in kind of a hurry this morning..."

Having just closed the window, Levy also noticed the chaotic state of her room. Looking slightly embarrassed, she scratched her cheek with one finger, trying to salvage her image. "So I didn't get a chance to tidy up!"

Though honestly, even tidied up it probably wouldn't look much better.

"Don't worry about it. If anything, it gives the place character." Roland picked up a book from the floor with a gentle smile.

Decoding and Interpreting Ancient Scripts

Looking at the book in his hands, he casually flipped through a few pages. Thanks to the Translation Konjac, he could understand the content at a glance.

Even more remarkably, he could read the ancient script diagrams in the book too.

"That book—you're interested in ancient languages too!?"

Seeing what he was holding, Levy immediately shuffled over, her eyes sparkling.

She had the exact expression of someone who'd just found a kindred spirit.

"I picked up a bit about ancient scripts during my travels." Noticing her excited expression, Roland explained.

"That's amazing!" Levy sat backwards on a chair, propping her chin on her hands with an awe-struck tone. "And you're already traveling the world at such a young age—that's seriously impressive!"

"Not really. I've only been to three or four countries so far."

Roland sat down and shook his head, his eyes drifting toward the rainy night outside.

As the sun fully set, the surging magical power within him vanished entirely, leaving him no different from an ordinary person.

"Three or four is still a lot! Unlike me—I've never even left the country." Levy suddenly perked up. "Since you've traveled to so many places, you must've read tons of books, right?"

"Could you tell me about them!?"

Seeing Levy's eyes grow brighter and brighter, Roland realized he wouldn't be getting to sleep early tonight. With a smile, he agreed.

After all, telling stories to a kind, cute girl who'd taken him in—that wasn't such a bad way to spend an evening.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window into the room, gently illuminating the countless books scattered about.

Levy rubbed her eyes and yawned, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes.

When her blurry vision cleared, the first thing she saw was Roland, also asleep at the table, his face directly across from hers.

Lustrous black hair, perfect features, and that black beauty mark beneath his left eye—it all combined into something uniquely captivating.

As she studied the sleeping boy, Levy's face gradually flushed red.

Is this what it feels like to like someone?

Feeling her heartbeat grow stronger, she became even more certain of this unbelievable fact.

She'd fallen for this boy—someone she'd only just met.

"...Morning, Levy."

Sensing the intense gaze from across the table, Roland half-opened his eyes and greeted her warmly.

Before Levy could respond, the system's quest window suddenly appeared before him.
