Chapter 144 - Vegapunk's Laboratory

Boom!

A tremendous noise came from outside the door, as if something massive had slammed down.

The entire house and floor trembled. Even the peacefully sleeping baby was startled awake by the sudden sound and immediately cried louder than the noise.

Robin's expression changed. Without hesitation, she picked up the crying baby, instinctively believing that the World Government had finally found them.

Creak!

The door opened, and immediately after, a familiar figure and voice entered.

"I'm back. I really should make Kuma optimize that teleportation ability. The commotion is always so huge every time! Huh?"

Standing at the doorway, Ian saw Robin holding the crying baby. Not knowing what happened, he awkwardly scratched his head, showing an embarrassed smile. "Sorry, sorry, I scared you two. It's Kuma's fault. I should've just let him send me to the harbor."

"Kuma's teleportation is loud, besides..."

Seeing Ian return, Robin's tense expression finally eased, and she smiled. Then, she bent down to place the crying baby back into the stroller.

As she bent down, her fitted dress tightly wrapped around her alluring figure, outlining every full and tempting curve.

Especially her breasts... with her movement, they bounced heavily, appearing even more enticing.

After placing the still-crying baby down, Robin straightened up.

Seeing Ian still standing in the doorway and admiring her, she didn't mind at all; in fact, she even winked flirtatiously and said with a smile, "Dear, you came home so suddenly, I didn't even prepare dinner. Do you want to rest first?"

"Of course."

As that matter-of-fact answer fell, moonlight began to spill into the living room.

At this moment, only the baby remained in the living room, crying alone.

No one knew what the baby's parents were doing.

Perhaps noticing that no matter how loudly she cried, no one responded, the baby, as if exhausted from crying, slowly closed her eyes again.

Right as the baby closed her eyes, the two hands that had previously vanished reappeared from below the stroller, holding a large blanket.

They gently covered the baby with it.

Wrapped in the blanket and bathed in moonlight, the baby fell back asleep peacefully.

The next day, the refreshed Ian woke up late once again. After playing with the child for a bit, the warm morning came to an end.

Since Ian had just returned, he didn't plan to train that morning. He only wanted to enjoy a quiet day and spend time with his family.

But it seemed peacefulness was impossible, while they were having breakfast with the baby, Ian heard movement outside the door.

Just as he was about to go check...

Creak!

The door was already pushed open, accompanied by a loud voice.

"Hahaha, I just got to the harbor and heard you were back, what a lucky day for me!"

"You mean unlucky."

Ian rolled his eyes while looking at Zephyr swaggering inside.

Annoyed, he said, "Also, next time, can you at least knock?"

For Ian, it wasn't surprising that the Village Chief Martin knew he was back.

After all, earlier that morning, when Della brought vegetables over, she had already seen him.

During Ian's absence, villagers would occasionally bring supplies, considering things might not always be convenient for Robin.

Once Della knew, Ian knew that Village Chief Martin would soon know.

And soon, the whole village would know.

Ace had also returned with Ian, but to avoid disturbing their night, Ian kicked him out before nightfall, telling him to go find a place to rest and just mention his name if needed.

That morning, Della had mentioned Ace, saying that apparently, Village Chief Martin, who was just starting his patrol, had dragged him home last night.

"Oh, sorry, sorry."

Zephyr grinned, finally noticing something odd about the atmosphere, especially seeing the blush that still hadn't faded from Robin's cheeks. He instantly understood that the family of three was having a warm morning.

Zephyr walked inside, followed by several unfamiliar figures.

Besides Ain and Binz, even Enel had come.

Only, Enel didn't have his previously arrogant, superior attitude like in the Skypiea. He could barely move, looking like an old man, wobbling slowly step by step.

Ian glanced at the Sea Prism Stone cuffs on Enel's wrists and immediately understood.

After greeting Ain and Binz, his eyes shifted toward Enel.

Yet the guy didn't seem to want to meet his eyes; his gaze was restless, avoiding him, causing Ian's lips to curl slightly.

"Oh? Is this the God of Thunder? Why does he look so timid today?"

"T-this guy!"

Hearing Ian's words, Enel couldn't hold it anymore. He glared at him angrily. "Who's timid?! I just don't want to see you, that's all!"

"You don't want to see me, or you don't want to see the God of Sand and the God of Iron Fist?"

Enel: "..."

"I...!"

"Alright, stop teasing Enel."

Zephyr, who was playing with the baby, looked up with a helpless expression toward Ian. "The kid has grown a lot during this time."

"I can tell. At least he doesn't call himself God anymore."

"This guy!!!"

"Hahaha, alright, alright. Enel, don't get angry. Disposition training is also important. If you can't calmly face other people's mockery, you will never become strong."

After calming the explosive Enel, Zephyr suddenly remembered something.

He looked at Ian and said, "By the way, when I came in earlier, I saw a lot of mechanical things landing on the plaza. Kuma sent them over, right? It nearly scared everyone there to death."

The plaza was the place where they held banquets, right in front of the brewery.

Because they frequently held banquets there, in the end, after the proposal of the five permanent village chiefs and Ian's approval, that place was renovated into a large plaza.

"I almost forgot about this."

Ian also seems to remember it and said, "I didn't expect Kuma and the others to be that fast."

Looking at Zephyr, he asks: "How are those things now?"

"I thought those things might have been sent by Kuma, so I had the villagers store everything properly, and I also warned them not to spread what they saw."

Zephyr's expression then became serious as he continued: "Those things look extremely valuable, and I even saw Vegapunk's notes on them. Because of that, I sent a whole fleet to block off that area."

"Those things really were moved out of Vegapunk's laboratory."

Zephyr: "...?"
