Chapter 2 - The Creation of Kaluma

It was surprisingly easy for Taro to terraform his planet.

It was probably because of his new godly powers — and the vast amount of knowledge he had gained — that the process felt so simple.

His vision for his planet was to create a beautiful water world, with giant continents full of life and a vast underwater realm filled with extraordinary creatures.

Just as he was thinking about his vision, a thought struck him.

"You don't even have a name yet," Taro said to his planet.

"But what should I call you?"

"Oh, I know — your name will be Kaluma," Taro said proudly.

"Time to get you in shape."

Taro then closed his eyes and focused on Kaluma.

Not long after, he felt everything on his world — as if the entire planet was a part of his divine body.

He felt the heat of its molten core, the coldness of the rocky surface, and the many ores buried deep within.

It was all his.

But it wasn't made for life.

He would change that.

First, he made the core of Kaluma magnetic to create a magnetic field around the planet, protecting it from cosmic radiation.

Then he turned to the atmosphere.

And that's when he realized — there wasn't one.

He wasn't surprised; if Kaluma had an atmosphere, he would have felt it. Still, he was taken aback by how completely empty it was — he had expected at least a trace of gas.

That wouldn't last long.

He quickly created an atmosphere made of oxygen and nitrogen, just like Earth's.

"That looks promising," Taro said, gazing down at his new creation. "But I'm not finished yet."

The last thing he needed to do to terraform Kaluma was add the oceans.

He formed clouds in the sky — massive grey ones that began to pour rain upon the barren world. Soon, the first bits of ocean began to take shape.

With the first oceans forming, Taro decided to snap back to his body in space and opened his eyes.

Down on Kaluma, the changes were visible. The first blue oceans spread beneath the newborn atmosphere.

But something confused Taro — the oceans were spreading incredibly fast, like he was watching a time-lapse Video of his Planet changing, Not Real time.

"Hey System, why are the oceans growing so fast?" Taro asked, hoping to get an answer.

[Report: You are currently experiencing everything in Godly Time. Time moves 110 times faster on Kaluma than it does for your.]

Taro took a moment to comprehend what the System had told him.

"So you're telling me everything is happening in super speed down there?" he asked.

[Report: Correct. One hour for you equals approximately 12.5 years on the planet.]

Taro scratched his head.

Even though the godly power of terraforming made the process already fast, this was a true game-changer.

It meant the entire transformation would take only a few minutes for him.

Still, he had some time to pass, so he turned back to the terminal to check his faith.

"Oh, shit," Taro muttered when he saw the counter.

[Faith: 10]

Terraforming Kaluma had cost him 15 faith — 20 ifhe included what he'd spent on the Knowledge itself.

"Well, this is bad. I thought it would cost a lot less," Taro said. "At least I've still got ten left."

Looking quickly at Kaluma, he saw that the oceans were still rising and far from complete. He opened the God Chat.

After reading the latest messages, he learned that many others had also bought the Knowledge of Terraforming. None — except a few lucky gods with water worlds — had planets capable of supporting life.

It also seemed most of them hadn't expected the process to be so costly.

"Hey, I'm screwed, guys. I've got no faith left after terraforming my world," wrote Yassing.

"Rip, bro," replied a guy named Taruma.

"You probably tryed to shape a Continent into a certaint Form Right? I tryed it and i cost a Hugo amount of faith points" Answerd someone called Giratan.

What really caught Taro's attention, though, were the few messages from gods describing the other Knowledges in the Shop.

So far, only one person had bought the Knowledge of Divine Traveling. It allowed him to fly through space and walk across his planet.

"It was the coolest shit ever," he wrote.

Another one had bought the creation ability and wrote that it isn't as good as it seems as Everything he created costs faith.

Still it seems Like he could create anything…

Even though Taro was tempted to buy them too, his faith points were too valuable — and he didn't know what might come next. Better to save them.

Then the System spoke again:

[Announcement: Most Gods have made their worlds habitable. The Knowledge of Life is now available in the Shop. Your new task is to create Life and help it evolve]

[Announcement: All Gods now receive 15 additional faith points for your further actions.]

As the last announcement finished, the chat exploded.

"Yessss, new pointssss!"-Aqua

"Thank you, System, for the points!"-Sam

"Knowledge of Life? Are we gonna create animals and stuff?"-Gaia

Suddenly, the messages were interrupted as the System spoke again:

[Announcement: From now on, faith points will only be gained through the evolution of each God's life forms and no ones will be given by the System. The greater the evolution, the greater the faith earned.]

Not a second passed before the next message appeared in the chat.

"Well, that was expected. I mean, what's a god without anything that beliefs in him?" — Hinato

"You mean we'll create frogs that'll pray to us?" someone Named Kira asked.

"No," Hinato replied, "I mean if we create life on our worlds, sooner or later some will evolve into intelligent beings. They'll pray to their god — giving us faith."

And then Taro realized — this was actually great.

He was a god now, which was already a massive improvement from his past life. Even though he couldn't remember much, he knew it hadn't been good.

Here, as a god, he could fulfill his every desire.

All he needed was a constant supply of faith — and the Knowledge of Creation from the Shop and he could life Like a King, no Like a God.

Taro turned his gaze back to Kaluma, which now had vast, lush blue oceans covering most of its surface.

"Time to give you life, my dear."
