Chapter 55 - 55

Before Obadiah could speak, Victor gestured, and the square box in Obadiah's hand was enveloped by telekinesis, flying into Victor's hand.

At the same time, three burly bodyguards in black suits emerged from the car, aiming their guns at Victor, who stood on the car roof.

Obadiah shouted from behind, "Don't shoot the box! Kill him!"

Like master, like servant; the three bodyguards who followed Obadiah were clearly not good people either.

As soon as they received the order to kill, they immediately pulled the triggers without hesitation, their sights firmly locked on Victor's head, heart, and throat—three vital points.

The three were very confident in their marksmanship, each firing only one shot, but their muzzles remained perfectly still.

However, the expected scene of blood splattering did not occur; instead, three bullets hovered about half a meter from Victor, slowly rotating, yet unable to advance an inch.

The three bodyguards, also experienced, realized they had encountered a mutant.

Without any communication, the bodyguard closest to Obadiah retreated to protect his employer, while the other two fired alternately, distracting Victor and preventing him from counterattacking.

Once their ammunition was depleted, they immediately flew backward.

Almost simultaneously, a round grenade rolled from the ground towards the bottom of the car—the handiwork of the bodyguard who had initially retreated.

Their coordinated attack showed seamless teamwork, making it clear why Obadiah had chosen them as his personal bodyguards.

But unfortunately, they met Victor today, a little superman with telekinetic powers.

The grenade, enveloped by telekinesis, was sent right back where it came from.

The bodyguard who had first retreated seemed to have anticipated this; seeing the grenade "thrown" back, his pre-aimed gun immediately spat out bullets, precisely hitting the grenade.

"Boom!"

The more than 2,000 tiny steel balls inside the grenade were propelled outwards by the explosion, forcing Victor to expand his telekinetic barrier to block these troublesome little things.

Though they wouldn't penetrate his defenses, they would hurt!

As for the two bodyguards who retreated later, they were even closer to the explosion point than Victor.

Although they anticipated it and dove away early, they still couldn't escape the hail of small steel balls.

Their lives hung in the balance.

Obadiah, however, was unharmed; he had been tackled to the ground by the bodyguard who detonated the grenade and was well protected.

Victor, angered by this dense barrage of attacks, unleashed his telekinetic power indiscriminately, propelling the bullets and steel balls in front of him outwards.

Under this indiscriminate assault, all three bodyguards were more or less "hit."

But the three had protected their vital areas very well; not only did they not die, but they pulled out three different types of grenades, pulled the pins, threw them, and ran.

Victor had no choice but to once again extend his telekinetic barrier to defend himself.

Accompanying a blinding flash, a large number of steel balls impacted the telekinetic barrier, and an irritating gas drilled into his body through his eyes, nose, and mouth, making his tears flow incessantly.

Shrapnel grenade, flashbang, tear gas.

"Damn it! Get me the box back!" Obadiah's roaring voice echoed, "Do you know what's inside? I'll give you a million dollars! Get it back for me!"

The three bodyguards ignored Obadiah, their departing footsteps firm.

Victor was truly enraged this time!

Even though he hadn't received professional training, he was still a little superman; how could he let them just run away like that?

Did they think he couldn't see them, so he couldn't chase them?

Unleashing his super hearing, he instantly caught the chaotic footsteps of his opponents, then soared into the air, breaking through the tear gas's coverage.

Ignoring the bullets fired at him, he flew directly above the source of the footsteps.

The bullets struck his steel body, unable to even penetrate his super combat suit, but the impact still stung.

Victor endured the hail of bullets, using telekinesis to propel the specialized, hiltless blades from his belt, sending them all flying towards the gun muzzles below.

The three bodyguards tried to dodge, but within this 10-meter range, the telekinetic feedback clearly captured their movements, and the hiltless blades changed direction accordingly.

In the end, the three battle-hardened, top-tier bodyguards, caught in Victor's unreasonable, tracking area-of-effect attack, managed only to deflect a few blades with bullets and block a few with their arms.

The remaining large portion, however, pierced their foreheads, throats, and hearts.

They very simply reported to the Grim Reaper.

Leaving Obadiah standing alone, Victor couldn't see his expression, but it certainly wasn't a smile.

Victor didn't move, just hovered there, waiting for the effects of the flashbang to wear off.

Anyway, Obadiah, a mere ordinary person, couldn't pull off any more tricks.

He did feel a bit heavy-hearted about having killed someone.

There was no nausea or retching.

After all, this was Marvel's America, and his extraordinary destiny meant he would have to kill sooner or later, so he was mentally prepared.

It was just that he felt a bit uncomfortable inside.

While Victor was deliberating, Obadiah had no intention of waiting for death.

He pulled two earplugs from his pocket and inserted them into his ears.

Looking up, he said loudly, "Victor Chen, I know you. Pepper mentioned you. I'm grateful you saved Tony's life, but why are you attacking me?"

Victor remained silent, merely "watching" Obadiah with his telekinetic field, waiting to see what tricks he would pull.

Victor ignored him, but Obadiah continued to declare his good relationship with Tony.

If Alice hadn't confirmed that Tony was currently lying unconscious in the villa, Victor might have even suspected that the plot had changed.

He was indeed an old fox!

After inserting his earplugs, Obadiah pulled a lighter-sized object from his pocket, then, with audacious courage, walked towards the car, all while speaking magnanimously.

"I believe there must be some misunderstanding here. I won't pursue the matter of you killing my bodyguards. For Tony's sake, I'll even cover this up for you."

Victor naturally wouldn't let him leave, but he also didn't approach Obadiah.

He remembered the origin of that "lighter"—a small, high-tech sonic weapon that, when activated near the ear, would paralyze a person for 15 minutes.

Obadiah had used this very device to keep Tony unconscious in the villa until now.

Victor wasn't sure if this thing would work on him, or if its effect would be doubled, given his super hearing ability—he couldn't help but feel like this superpower was a bad deal!

With a thought, Obadiah's earplugs were removed, and at the same time, a telekinetic hand exerted force, pulling the "lighter" from Obadiah's hand, and attempting to slide open its cover.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz—"

A sound similar to a "housewife's darling" home appliance began, and Obadiah, caught off guard, didn't even have a chance to react before he fell straight backward, hitting the ground with a thud.

Given his physique, that fall would likely disfigure him.

Closing the "lighter," the sound vanished.

Victor slowly descended, standing in front of Obadiah, toying with the "lighter" in his hand as information flooded his mind.

It was still an F-grade item, valued at [F-grade Voucher × 2, Planar Points × 20].

Alright, straight into [Inventory] to sell.

Just then, his vision fully recovered.

Victor used telekinesis to lift Obadiah, letting him dangle behind him, and walked into the villa, opening the square box in his right hand, finally getting his first look at the Arc Reactor's true form.

When he met Tony before, the guy was wearing clothes made of opaque material, so he couldn't see anything.

Its appearance wasn't particularly surprising, much like a 1:1 replica figure from his past life.

His finger touched it, and information appeared.

Unexpectedly valuable!

Victor had previously thought that the Spider Serum was a [C+] grade item, and this old-fashioned small Arc Reactor would at most be around [E+], so he hadn't expected it to reach [D±].

[–], [±], [+], can be seen as lower, middle, upper grades.

So, it seems now that the future new element, the third-generation small Arc Reactor, should be a C-grade item.

Just a power core is on par with the Spider Serum, plus the Iron Man suit… A future Spider-Man in an Iron Man suit is quite strong!

Yet he was still thrashed by Thanos; then Thanos's strength… He pondered.

Victor arrived in the villa's living room.

Tony sat on the sofa, his face pale, his bloodshot eyes showing a flicker of joy the moment he saw Victor, then, remembering something, his expression turned strange again.

Whatever he was thinking, Victor found it very displeasing.

Waving his hand, he tossed Obadiah onto the floor.

Victor dangled the second-generation small Arc Reactor, ignoring Tony's questioning gaze, and pulled out his Huawei phone, snapping away.

He took so many pictures that Tony's pale face turned a deep shade of green.

Satisfied, Victor checked the photos.

Tony, having just regained his mobility, ignored the photos, snatched the second-generation small Arc Reactor that Victor had tossed onto the sofa, and tremblingly tried to insert it into his chest.

But in his haste, he failed to align it several times, which made his face even paler with frustration.

After finally managing to install it, Tony didn't even have time to sigh in relief before he looked up and saw Victor smiling, holding his phone aimed at him, but not pressing the shutter.

Tony's face instantly went from white to black.

Damn it!

You even recorded it?!
