"Thoughts"
Third Person
"Recently, I've lost the will to live. Don't get me wrong, I love my life and my family; however, every time I wake up, I have this strange feeling of not knowing what to do with it. My entire life has been the same: studying, getting good grades, making my parents happy... But it's as if everything I've done since birth was simply floating without a fixed course, and I was tired of it."
I wish someone had told me that what I was about to do would condemn the rest of my existence.
The Day That Changed Everything
That day had started normally: I woke up, went down for breakfast, and left for school. Usually, my day consisted only of that, but today there was something strange, a feeling of uneasiness that wouldn't leave me alone.
On the way, I thought my day would be the same monotony again, that nothing interesting ever happened in my life, and that I would give anything for an adventure, something to pull me away from this meaningless way of existing that I had been leading. How wrong I was!
When I arrived at school, something happened. I didn't see it; I just felt it. It was like a flame igniting inside me. I didn't know how or why, but I decided to turn back and not go in. So I did. I decided to explore the city. Normally, I would have gone home and made up the excuse that classes were canceled, but this time it wasn't like that.
I headed to the subway station and decided that if I wanted to do something different, I should start by finding something that would give meaning to my life. Now I realize that if I had only gone to school, none of this would have happened.
As the subway was about to arrive, I decided to wait near the tracks while watching the other people. They all looked rushed, some excited; however, they all had something in common, and that was a purpose. I had to find mine.
I didn't know who did it. I just felt a push in my back, strong enough to shove me onto the tracks. When I tried to get up, it was too late. In most cases, I would be transported to an isekai; however, this time was different. I felt as if I was floating in an infinite ocean and the waves were dragging me along. Just when I thought things would continue that way, I woke up.
An Opposing Day
It was as if everything I had done that day was a dream. I woke up as usual, thinking it had just been a bad dream. I wish it had only been that.
That day, the feeling was stranger than usual, and before I knew it, I was leaving my house, heading for school. I thought it would be a day like any other, but there was something different; it was as if I had already lived this. I couldn't explain it, but something was wrong.
I thought that if I ignored this feeling, everything would be better. However, a hand on my back snapped me out of my thoughts. It was Chloe, my neighbor. I didn't know why she was greeting me or what she wanted; this wasn't normal. She was the type of person who wouldn't talk to someone like me: she was beautiful, bright, and sociable—the complete opposite of me.
— (T/N): Excuse me, is something wrong?
— Chloe: Oh, I'm sorry. It's just that I think we go to the same school, and I wanted to come over and say hi.
"(T/N): Confirmed, none of this is normal."**
— (T/N): Yeah, I think you're right, but you've never spoken to me before now. So, what changed today?
— Chloe: It's just that I've seen you leaving the house next door, and I never had the courage to speak up, but today I felt like I had to. Is that bad?
— (T/N): No, don't worry, you just made me a little nervous. So, do you want to walk to school together?
"(T/N): Say no, say no."**
— Chloe: That sounds great! I think we can get to know each other better that way.
"(T/N): Shit, what the hell is going on, and why do I still have this strange feeling?"**
— Chloe: Is everything alright?
— (T/N): Yeah, everything's fine. I was just thinking that the exam period is approaching. Are you nervous?
— Chloe: Not really, I know everything will be fine. How about you?
— (T/N): Yeah, you're right, everything will be fine. But don't you feel like today is very strange? I mean, we don't normally walk together, much less talk. It's like today is the opposite day.
— Chloe: I don't know what you're talking about; I think it's a wonderful day. Besides, if I hadn't talked to you, I bet someone else would have.
— (T/N): I highly doubt it; I'm not someone with many friends. I think you're the first person from school I've talked to.
— Chloe: Seriously? Then, does that make me special, don't you think?
"(T/N): What the heck is wrong with her? And what is this way she's looking at me? A moment ago, it looked like a predator's gaze. Damn it, what should I do?!"**
— (T/N): Yes, I think so. Look, we're here. In that case, I'll see you later.
— Chloe: Wait, before you go, we should exchange numbers.
— (T/N): Numbers?
— Chloe: Yes. Now that we're friends, we should keep in touch, don't you think?!
"(T/N): It's just exchanging numbers. Why are you so nervous? Besides, maybe this will finally help me get rid of this feeling."**
— (T/N): Yeah, you're right. Look at the time, I have to go to class now. It was fun talking to you.
You thought that would be it. However, you felt something grip your arm tightly, enough to hurt you. It was her.
— (T/N): Yes, Chloe?
"(T/N): Why is she looking at me that terrifying way again?"**
— Chloe: Wait, would you like to walk home together after classes? It's just that I don't like the idea of walking back alone.
"(T/N): What the hell! I've seen you walk back with your group of friends. But I have a feeling she won't let go until I agree."**
— (T/N): Yes, great idea. I'll see you at the entrance after classes, alright?
— Chloe: Excellent! I'll see you later then, don't be late.
As (T/N) hurried off to the classroom, he could feel as if someone was watching him the whole time, waiting for him to make any mistake so they could devour him.
