Chapter 10 Anesthesia
White walls, white sheets, white...
What a load of white! Matt can't see anything!
After waking up, Daredevil Matt Murdoch took three seconds to calm himself down, ten seconds to assess his situation, and the rest of the time he was lost in a jumble of memories.
"I'm not..."
Matt was baffled by his sudden memory loss, and he realized that something was wrong!
"Hey! You're awake! How much fake alcohol did you drink? You slept for so long!" There was a stranger's voice coming from downstairs, or rather, downstairs.
For some reason, Matt was certain he wasn't familiar with the voice, but whenever he heard it, he felt inexplicably irritated!
Shaking my head, and prompted by the sounds from downstairs, my memories gradually returned...
...
"What exactly do you want? What grudge do we have?"
Matt said calmly but urgently, "Whatever you want, I don't have time to play your nonsense. If it's revenge, then respect me and give me a quick death. If not, I'm badly injured, please let me leave."
Some say that when someone wielding a sharp sword suddenly starts talking about reason, it only means one thing: you have an even sharper sword.
That is indeed the case.
Although Matt was seriously injured, the Night Demon's reputation wasn't something he could earn by simply putting on a mask and going out at night to fend off a couple of drunks. If he were facing an ordinary person, he would have already taken them down and made his escape.
But that's not it.
Matt knew very well that, although there was an element of carelessness on his part, it was highly unlikely that an ordinary person could get this close to him in the quiet of the night without him noticing.
Moreover, although Matt's enemies were mostly ordinary people, he had been walking in the dark for several years and was not completely ignorant.
There are indeed many special people in this world. So, it's not surprising that Matt can fly.
It doesn't matter.
Being able to fly doesn't mean you can withstand punches and sticks!
Matt decisively attacked while that guy was rambling on, and the result was...
To no avail.
That guy was incredibly agile! Several of his attacks were dodged, and Matt grew even more panicked. At this point, engaging in a prolonged fight would be suicidal.
escape!
Feinting an attack, Matt turned and ran behind the person as they dodged to the side!
And then, that was it.
The person suddenly appeared in front of him in a flash, blocking his way, and then made no further move. He just stood there.
The pain under his ribs and the soreness in his calf muscles were constant reminders to Matt that he was losing blood.
As a top student and someone with a special profession: hero! Matt has a good understanding of what he will likely encounter and is well-prepared.
Of all the ways to die, dying from excessive blood loss is the one he least wants to face.
That's why Matt said those words. He also knew that if that person wanted to kill him, then today would probably be his death anniversary.
He doesn't even need to attack himself; he can just watch quietly.
So, the scene turned into two people standing facing each other.
"Hmm? What are you thinking about?"
Lyon was also confused.
I already told you I'm a good person and wanted to give you a 20% discount on your wound treatment, so why is this person acting like this?
In this bright, moonlit alley, if I were to suddenly appear behind you in such a dashing outfit and startle you, I wouldn't look like a bad guy at all!
"Forehead..."
You know what, it's true!
"We have no enmity, and I don't want to hurt you, otherwise I would have already done it, wouldn't I?"
Without giving Matt a chance to answer, Leon continued, "The reason I'm here is to cause Kingpin some trouble, to add a little disturbance to his ordinary life. Believe it or not, I believe it."
Seeing Matt sweating more and more, Leon became unusually serious: "Judging from this, you must have enjoyed what was originally meant to entertain me."
Matt: You #(!)&! ! !
"I saw you were injured, and out of guilt and sympathy, I wanted to help you treat it. Don't mention it, I really am a doctor."
...
Perhaps sensing the sincerity in Lyon's words, or perhaps having no other choice, Matt weighed the matter carefully before finally nodding: "Then, thank you for your trouble."
"Oh! Look at what you're saying, we're all friends, why are you being so polite with me?" Leon replied very politely.
"20% off! Ah! If you want an extra cent, go complain to Kingpin! He's the one who gets amputations for finger splinters, amputations below the eyebrows for headaches, and amputations for split urine streams. I've arranged everything perfectly for him!"
"Uncle, I love money the most... Ah, helping friends! As long as you give me enough money, I can even get my appendix removed for you!"
"I need to give you anesthesia first, so get ready! That's why they say every organ God gives us has its purpose. If you didn't have an appendix, how would I make money off you? You agree!"
Matt was already suffering from excessive blood loss and was somewhat sluggish due to insufficient oxygen supply to his brain. Lyon's Chinese-style English was fast and difficult to understand, and even with his excellent listening skills, Matt could only barely make out the random flying arms and legs in Lyon's mouth.
It seems there's something to do about the appendix in this?!
He wouldn't cut off my kidney, would he?
Just as he was vaguely thinking about anesthesia, he heard Leon's thunderous, powerful shout.
"Eat me, physical anesthesia!!"
Matt lost consciousness when his nose started to hurt.
...
By this point, Matt had remembered everything.
Touch your nose, it hurts!
The toilet paper is still stuck in my nostrils.
Good heavens, this is the anesthesia you were talking about!
No wonder it's a physics-based attack! Why don't you aim for the head or the back of the neck instead!
We have a grudge!
He reached up and touched his head; the leather mask was still on his head, indicating that his identity had not yet been exposed. However, it was also possible that the weirdo had taken the mask back after seeing his appearance.
We've escaped unscathed, for now!
Matt carefully reached for the wound under his ribs, thinking that this kind of person might actually cut off his kidney and sell it!
Beneath the combat suit that had been cut open by the knife, Matt touched his own skin.
The wound... is gone!
Thump, thump, thump.
Lyon climbed up the dilapidated wooden stairs.
This is an abandoned house, long since dilapidated due to lack of inhabitants. Clearly, the environment here is unsuitable for performing surgery.
However, using a toothbrush or something like that shouldn't be a problem. Besides, superheroes are all tough and rarely die, so there's absolutely no need to worry.
After going upstairs, Leon remained silent, simply standing quietly at the top of the stairs. Matt, preoccupied with a thousand thoughts, also kept quiet.
After a while.
"Thanks..."
"Thank you for the 50 cents."
...ah?
If you think it's alright, please give me a few votes. It's important for a new author and a new book.
P.S.: Happy holidays everyone. The author, after a busy day, picked up his phone with one hand.
