Sally's POV
The clearing is filled with wolves from every corner of River Pack territory. Some remain in their human forms while others have shifted, but every single pair of eyes focuses on us as Karl and Philip guide me forward. Warren grips my hand firmly, his small shoulders squared with confidence that I desperately wish I could borrow. The weight of their collective stare feels crushing.
Karl's voice cuts through the tension, authoritative and unwavering. "River Pack, I appreciate you gathering on such short notice. Rumors have been circulating, and you deserve the truth. Today, you will receive it."
A wave of expectation ripples through the assembled wolves.
Philip moves closer, his palm pressing against my spine in silent support. "This is Sally." His declaration rings clear and unapologetic. "She is our mate."
Sharp intakes of breath echo around us. Whispered conversations break out. Someone near the back releases a low growl.
