Sally's POV
The sensation of being observed pulls me from sleep, but instead of alarm, warmth spreads through my chest. Someone is watching over me, and the feeling brings comfort rather than fear. I lie still for a moment, trying to identify which of my mates has stayed with me through the night.
The energy surrounding me feels too steady to be Ajax's restless spirit. It lacks Karl's intense heat that always makes my pulse quicken. Sean was here when exhaustion claimed me, but this presence carries a different quality than his peaceful aura. This feels like Philip, composed on the surface but with something untamed simmering beneath that could surface at any moment.
I shift against the couch cushions, amazed that I managed decent rest on furniture instead of a proper bed.
"You know it's pretty strange to stare at someone while they sleep, right?"
My eyes flutter open to find him watching me with an unguarded expression.
