Sandy's POV
The weight of Grey's stare pressed against my shoulders as I settled into the chair across from his desk. Two days had crawled by since I'd unleashed my fury on Fred, and I knew this conversation was inevitable.
"I heard what happened near the border," Grey began, his voice carrying that familiar edge of authority.
I kept my attention fixed on the polished wood surface between us, offering only a noncommittal hum. Every muscle in my body remained coiled, ready for the lecture I was certain would follow.
"I'm sure you think I crossed a line, but—" The words started tumbling out before I could stop them.
"No." His interruption cut through my defense like a blade. "You did exactly what needed to be done. The patrol guards who witnessed everything have been talking. I've let their gossip spread throughout the entire Pack because I wanted every single person to hear about it."
