Sandy's POV
The house erupted into complete chaos in an instant. A twisted satisfaction coursed through me as I pursued the pathetic woman and cornered her at the bottom of the staircase.
My fingers wrapped around her ankle like a steel trap, yanking her backward. Her face collided with the wooden steps with a sickening crack. Blood erupted from her nose and mouth, painting the stairs crimson.
"Luna, please," she sobbed, desperately kicking to break free from my grip.
The irony wasn't lost on me. She understood perfectly well that she couldn't overpower me physically. She had always known this truth, so why had she chosen to cross me now?
Such a catastrophic error in judgment.
I let out a cold laugh and seized a fistful of her hair. Her next shriek died in her throat as I drove her face downward. Her teeth struck the sharp edge of the step above, and several fragments scattered across the floor.
