Chapter 15 - Harry Osborn

Some people say they don't plan to be Super Heroes on the surface, but secretly they've already come up with a hero name and even designed a whole set of costumes.

Peter looked at Ben with a mischievous gaze and teased, "Didn't you say you weren't going to be Spider-Man?"

"I didn't plan to. I was just afraid the Battle Suit you made would be too ugly and embarrass me," Ben said.

The Spider-Man of this universe was a bit like a combination of three movie universes. Ben didn't know which version Peter would eventually produce. If it was like Holland's baby pajamas, it would be too embarrassing.

"Okay, I'll reluctantly believe you, but..." Peter flipped open the manuscript paper and quickly discovered that there was more than one design draft. The different color variations were natural, of course, but there were even Battle Suits that looked mechanical and cyberpunk-style, similar to Iron Man's Battle Armor, which made Peter's mind wander.

"There's too much!"

"Do you want it or not?"

"Yes! Of course, I do!"

In the end, Peter chose one from the most numerous red and blue options. He actually wanted the Iron Spider-Man Battle Armor or the Spider-Knight, but unfortunately, their current technology wasn't sufficient for either. They could only set it aside as a backup for now.

"Using Spider Silk is indeed a good idea, but the existing materials simply can't achieve it," Peter mused.

Toby Version's Spider-Man had special Web Shooter organs on his wrists, while Garfield Version's Spider Silk actually came from Osborn Enterprise; he just made a Web Shooter himself.

However, the current Osborn Enterprise didn't seem to be involved in the Spider Silk industry, which meant Peter and Ben would have to create a completely new Spider Silk material with a tensile strength that met expectations.

If Ben could transform into a Spider Monkey right now, it would be much simpler. He could directly study the Spider Monkey's Spider Silk structure.

But now, it could only rely on Peter's own efforts.

"I think I have an idea—" Peter felt a flash of inspiration in his mind.

"Good luck. And I suggest adding a substance to the Spider Silk that allows it to degrade naturally. Otherwise, New York City will probably become a spider's nest before long."

He patted Peter's shoulder and then kicked the pensive Peter out of his room.

Then, he sat back down in front of the computer, thinking about other things.

As he had said before, if you gained Superpowers, you had to use them. Peter planned to become New York's hero. Ben didn't plan to save the world, but he could become the hero of this family.

"Earn more money, and then let Uncle Ben and Aunt May live a better life."

The thought that had crossed his mind before lingered like a ghost: start his own company, call it Primus Technology, and become the industry leader!

If nothing else, it should at least be on the scale of Osborn.

"But startup capital and projects are both problems. I don't have anything impressive on hand right now," Ben thought.

The only technologically advanced items he currently possessed were Iron Man's Battle Suit and the Omnitrix. The Battle Suit went without saying; many of its technologies were patented by Stark Industries. Of course, it wasn't impossible to develop it. They could skirt the law like Hammer Industries, and most importantly, cooperate with the US government, and someone would naturally help endorse it.

However, Ben had no intention of providing them with weapons.

The other research subject was naturally the Little Broken Watch.

As a Level 20 technology, the Little Broken Watch's abilities were far more than just transformation. Besides this most basic function, it actually contained very advanced communication technology, capable of real-time communication over millions of light-years, instantaneous teleportation, and advanced Nanotechnology.

Every time the Little Broken Watch transformed, it would convert the wearer's clothing into an alien hero's Battle Suit through Nanotechnology.

This was why the alien hero's costume in the first season changed from black and white to green later on.

"Nanotechnology is a good direction, but the technological leap is too big, and it's difficult to achieve in a short time," Ben thought. "And the funds required for such a project are completely beyond my means."

Startup capital was always the biggest problem.

Developing technology wasn't as simple as robbing a few thugs to save money. Without massive financial support, most scientists couldn't do anything. This was why Doctor Octopus, despite his capabilities, had to rob banks.

Ben thought, since robbing thugs wouldn't work, robbing the underworld emperors might be a good option.

Like Kingpin, The Hand...

But this would also increase his risk of exposure.

If it were just Spider-Man's abilities, it would be fine. Ben wasn't too worried about this identity being known. In fact, the moment Peter decided to become Spider-Man, it was a foregone conclusion that S.H.I.E.L.D. would know their identities.

What Ben wanted to create in the eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a persona of "someone with Superpowers, but not intending to become a Super Hero like his cousin." He was using Spider-Man's abilities as a lure to hide the Omnitrix.

The Omnitrix was too dangerous. Once it was fully exposed, both S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.H.I.E.L.D. would try their best to obtain it.

Ben wasn't afraid of them, but he didn't want to attract these fly-like troubles.

Moreover, the source of the funds would also be a problem. Once he achieved something, the people in power might use it as an excuse to seize his inventions.

"Then there's only one other way." He picked up his phone and found a number.

Since he had no money, he would find someone to invest. Coincidentally, he knew a rich fool.

Although it was late at night, the call was answered quickly.

"Hello, Harry Potter."

"Don't call me Harry Potter!" Harry on the other end of the phone immediately lost his temper as soon as he answered, scolding Ben. After a while, he calmed down and asked, "You wouldn't call me for no reason. How's Peter doing lately?"

He asks about Peter as soon as he answers. And you say you two aren't true love?

"He's doing great. I dare say he's never been better."

Peter now was like a fresh graduate who immediately received a big offer after graduation. He was so excited because he had a job, unaware that he was about to be trained into a corporate slave.

"What about you?" Harry asked. "I don't believe you called just to catch up, especially at this hour."

In reality, Harry was already picturing Ben feeling dejected after a breakup, which was why he'd called someone to vent to at this late hour.

He was already bracing himself to hear a joke, while also preparing to comfort his old friend.

However, at this moment, Ben's words struck Harry's heart like a sword.

"Harry, I remember you really wanted to impress Uncle Norman, right?"

"I have a plan!"
