Sallie's POV
The memories hit me like a tidal wave, igniting a savage need to tear everything apart. I kept my arms wrapped around my head, but the glare I shot Kane through the gap burned with raw hatred.
Kane went rigid. "What's with that look? You shoved Jill down the stairs two years back, and here you are pulling the same stunt. Someone's got to knock some sense into you."
His fingers clamped around my wrist and yanked hard. "Get your ass over here and say sorry to Jill."
I stumbled forward as searing pain shot up my arm. I bit down hard, choking back both the scream and the rage clawing up my throat. "I said I was sorry, Mr. Wesley. Let go of me."
Kane's eyes flicked to Jill, who whispered, "She did apologize, and I've forgiven her." But her expression told a different story entirely.
Kane's grip became a vise. "Jill, she could've murdered you. Some half-assed apology doesn't fix that."
