Sallie's POV
I couldn't help but let out a soft laugh from the doorway, immediately drawing the attention of these so-called "loving" siblings.
Kevin's tender expression vanished instantly, his brow furrowing as he spotted me at the entrance. "What's so funny?"
I dropped my hand from my chest, my expression turning glacial. "I never imagined someone as rule-obsessed as Mr. Noah would actually allow outsiders to interfere with company affairs."
It was like deliberately tearing at the scars in my heart, forcing myself to feel that familiar sting. I kept pushing until the agony went numb—only then could I truly move on.
I continued, "Remember when I simply put in a good word for Kane's father? I wasn't even really asking for your help, Mr. Noah, yet you still lost it with me. You claimed I was overstepping, that I didn't know my boundaries.
"You told me women should stick to shopping and buying purses, not meddling in affairs that weren't their concern."
