Chapter 2 - Married To Alpha

The banquet was lit with beautiful lights and the walls were decorated with different types of flowers.

"Congratulations, Andrea. You know how happy I am after seeing you like this."

I smiled at my old aunt—that snake. A few days ago she was saying how hard it would be for me to find a marriage partner.

Damn it, did she jinx it?

"Thank you, Aunty. Of course I know since you are the one who cares most."

About the most useless things, that was.

It was the day of my wedding and I was in the middle of greeting the guests—a very troublesome task. It would be fun to see their faces but right now, I was not in a mood.

I glanced at the door where my substitute bride was.

Last night I asked that woman to become my bride and let's just say I was so convincing that I didn't give her a chance to turn the offer down.

I was afraid of her changing her mind and not attending the wedding, so I dragged her along to the hotel.

Seriously, if someone were to ask me what I was doing at that time, I wouldn't be able to answer that.....Maybe protecting my dignity? Whatever...

After seeing no one there, I sighed in relief.

"Rea, is everything alright, dear?"

I look at my side, where my mother was standing.

"What do you mean? Everything is perfect."

Thank God, I didn't show the photo of my fiancée, even after I dated her for four months, but what was she saying all of a sudden?

"Then, why are you sweating so much?"

Suddenly, my mother's face turned all serious as she glared at me. She brought her face so close to mine, I felt like she could have already peeked into my mind as I quickly turned my head the other way.

Despite being naive, she was the scariest person in my family. I laughed stupidly to hide my worry and quickly slid back away from her.

"Well you know...I am just...nervous. Right."

Just then, I saw the time and it was finally close to taking the vows.

"Mom, I have to go."

As I was walking away from her, my mother turned to look at Ella and asked.

"Ella, honey, is Rea okay?"

Ella replied without even thinking as she was standing with my younger sister, Clara, who seemed to like her more than me, her own sister.

"How do I know?"

I looked at Ella and pleaded with my eyes. Ella, after seeing me, sighed and turned to my mother.

"She is fine, aunty—you don't need to worry."

Seeing her comforting my mother, I quickly opened the door and entered the bride's room. My eyes quickly went to find my bride and after I saw her, my heart skipped a beat.

Wearing a white suit just like mine, hugging her slim waist perfectly, she was looking out of this world. Her golden blonde hair was now styled in a beautiful fashion such that it was revealing her long neck, which looked very alluring.

Damn, she was hot.

I gulped after seeing her standing in front of the mirror.

After I asked her to be my bride, I soon guided her to a fine wedding dresser. It was late at night but we unexpectedly found a bridal shop that was above my standard but it didn't matter.

After asking her, she chose a suit rather than a wedding dress and matched it with my own.

But now that she was wearing that dress, it felt like it was made for her.

I quickly shook my head and snapped back from my stupor.

"It is almost time. Are you ready?"

I approached her, who, after seeing me, smiled and turned to me. I was really satisfied after seeing her. She was the perfect bride I could ask for.

"Do you remember what I said before?"

I knew people were going to ask her many things, so I started telling her everything about me and more so about how we had met and all that.

The plan was simple. I wanted her to say we met at the workplace after I asked her if she worked at J&K Enterprises—which she did.

"Yes, I am Angelica Bell. Though I don't know if anyone is going to ask my name."

More important than that, I told her that she needed to be Angelica Bell—my fiancee—since I couldn't do anything about that name, as it was already mentioned in the wedding card. But she was right—no one would be asking her name.

I cleared my throat and extended my arm for her to take.

"Shall we?"

But she didn't put her arm around—instead, she took my hand out and put it around hers.

"Yes, we shall."

I got confused by her actions but after seeing her smile, a wave of satisfaction passed through me.

I couldn't wait to see the people's reaction.

Thinking like that, we turned towards the gate and entered the banquet hall.

The murmurs quickly died down in an instant, and the music changed to a softer one but I didn't forget to see the faces of my relatives.

It was very satisfying seeing the faces of the people. Not only that but my bride herself was very natural when she met with guests' gazes. For a while, even I started to doubt if she wasn't really my bride.

Anyway, it was as I had expected—everyone was in awe of her beauty. It didn't matter if it was my parents or—

Wait? Ella?

She was looking at me with a stunned expression, as she was the only person who knew who I was marrying. I secretly apologized and promised to tell her everything later.

Soon, we were standing on the altar with the officiant starting to speak.

With no one in sight, I finally looked at the woman beside me. This was finally happening. I really save myself here. Well, except for the fact that I am marrying a stranger.

Stranger? Crap...

Yesterday, everything went in a blur such that I even forgot to ask about her name and without giving her much of a thought, I brought her to the hotel here.

As I was busy in my thoughts, just then I felt my hand being caressed by cool fingers. I looked to my side and saw a most charming smile. My heart jumped but I still maintained my composure.

She then pointed her chin towards the officiant...

"Huh?"

"...do you take Angelica Bell as your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and health?"

Only then did I realize what was happening and quickly replied.

"Ah, yes, I do."

Her hand didn't let mine go as she kept caressing it gently. That was distracting.

Damn it, focus...

I had to scold myself for a while to barely be present at the moment. It was not like me to be absent-minded but there was this nagging feeling in my chest.

What was that?

"You may now kiss the bride."

It wasn't my first time kissing but I felt nervous. I must have looked like an idiot with my stiff motion—that woman had to pull me into her before grabbing my waist.

And then, my lips touch hers. If I were to say I feel electricity or something else, then it would be a lie.

No, it was the same as every other kiss I had but soft, brief, and gentle—with only my lips touching hers. It would be awkward if only she was involved, so I also wrapped my arms around her and soon applause broke through the banquet.

I pulled back from her and looked in front of me, where I had to sign the wedding certificate.

Suddenly, my heart started to beat faster. This was the last step. After this, I would say to have a perfect wedding too.

Without wasting any time, I pick the purple pen from the different colors of red, purple, and green and quickly sign the certificate.

But just as I was done, that woman took the pen from my hand and began to sign the opposite side of mine.

What?

The officiant and other people present also looked surprised as they exchanged their gazes between me and her.

Only then did I realize why I was having this nagging feeling.

I had repeatedly told her to act like Angelica Bell but that also meant signing the certificate as one too. But now, she was not only being Angelica but—

According to the society, there was always an omega for every alpha. Hence, the perfect couple was said to be the pair of alpha and omega.

Beta and omega, or beta with alpha, were also acceptable but it made no sense with two alphas or two omegas.

It was like a key and a lock.

Two keys were useless, as well as two locks, but a pair of locks and keys worked perfectly.

Anyway, to represent them better, they assigned a color to each.

Red represented the omega, green represented the beta and...

I stared at the sign that she had just done. No, not on the sign but on the color of the pen before turning towards my own.

They were both purple.

Before, I was wondering about her name but why the hell didn't I ask for her subgender?

Fuck, my perfect wedding...

So,

I Married an Alpha.
