Chapter 4 - Inochi-dono

It wasn't long before they arrived before a courtyard, where he could see his attendants waiting for him.

The courtyard gate had the symbol of the clan on it, a plum blossom with the Kanji for fire carved boldly within it.

"Miya-sama would stay within the clan dwelling during your stay here, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask and we will ensure it is done" Masanori-sama said with a smile on his face

Even though that face appeared gentle, Saburo could see the amount of scheming behind it and all this was because of the unnecessary action made by his father.

No, at some level, it was his fault for his reforms but then again, those were done simply because he wanted survival.

"Thank you, for your help, I will ensure to report back to you when I have settled down" Saburo said before disembarking from the carriage,

As soon as his feet touched the ground, the attendants waiting for him immediately got on their knees as they kowtowed as though he was some sort of God.

This has been the treatment ever since he was three years old, he understood that as a son of the Daimyo he was considered part divinity but they never reacted like this to his father.

"Rise, let's go in" he said as he pushed open the doors to the courtyard and entered it

As soon as he entered, it felt like he was transported to a more modern era, the houses were made using clay bricks and the roof were tiles but you could still see woodwork that Japanese home makers were proud of.

"Did father rebuild the clan house recently?" Saburo asked curiously turning to the senior attendant

"Yes, he says he wants Miya-sama to enjoy the benefits of being back home even while staying here" The man said while bowing

It was a sin to look an Imperial relative in the eye after all and it was all things that Saburo had gotten used to so he merely smiled as he properly entered the courtyard.

"He made it according to your specifications back in the old palace, Inochi-dono" Hayato suddenly said as he appeared beside him.

'Inochi-dono' a nickname he had gotten tired of rejecting, it means 'Lord or Master of Life' and his attendants clearly treated him as such.

"I see, by the way Hayato-san, how do you do that disappearing and appearing thing? Is it just a movement Jutsu or something else?" Saburo asked

"Yes, Miya-sama however I hear that the shinobi have a much better refined version of this shunpo" Hayato replied

"Okay then, let's go in," Saburo said as he shrugged it off.

The courtyard was massive and was located towards the center of Konoha meaning that it was close to the academy

There were three main buildings within the courtyard and what seemed to be stream flowing behind it though still through the building.

It wasn't long before they settled in and Saburo did his best to memorize the layout of his new home for the next few years.

With a happy smile on his face, Saburo laid on his be newly made bedding as he prepared to retire for the day.

He had finally escaped from the rigid home that was the Diamyo's palace.
