Chapter 6 - "Three Worlds of Training"

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Early the next morning, the first thing Alex did after getting up was check in on the group chat — ten points earned, easy.

After breakfast, Luo Hao showed up and whisked him out of Fuyuki City.

They arrived at an empty stretch of beach where, with a casual wave of her hand, Luo Hao summoned a massive yacht — big enough to rival a warship.

It was one of her divine authorities, the "Treasure Shipyard," stolen from none other than Noah of the Old Testament myths. With it, she could forge enchanted vessels — not just a single ship, but whole fleets of over a hundred vessels, from majestic galleons to nimble skiffs.

Once they boarded, the lessons officially began.

"Did you bring the martial arts manuals I gave you?" Luo Hao asked.

"Yeah, I've got them." Alex pulled three old books from his pocket.

Taking them, Luo Hao began translating. She first converted the dense classical text into modern, simplified language, then patiently explained the meaning of all the specialized terms — things like meridians, acupoints, dantian, spirit hub, qi cultivation, and internal energy — and pointed out their corresponding spots on the body.

That was when Alex's enhanced learning ability really started to shine.

In just one morning, he had mastered all the technical terminology.

By noon, they were back at the hotel suite for lunch. After a short break, Hestia came to fetch him for his next round of training — this time, in the magecraft of the Type-Moon world.

When she'd first connected to the Root, Hestia had already absorbed most of that world's magical theory. At this point, her grasp of magecraft far outstripped even Solomon or Merlin.

Just like with martial arts, learning magecraft began with the basics — understanding the theory and memorizing the jargon.

So that entire afternoon, Alex was once again... memorizing vocabulary.

That night, when Roxy's turn came, things finally got more hands-on.

Unlike the others, Roxy actually taught. She was, after all, a professional educator, and it showed.

She began with a clear, simple rundown of the fundamentals of magic in her world — the world of Mushoku Tensei — and then jumped straight into practical training.

As Alex practiced spellcasting, she explained the underlying concepts along the way.

Under the bridge at Fuyuki, beside the riverbank, Roxy stood with a serious expression as she instructed him.

"Alex, in our world, magic falls into three main categories: attack, healing, and summoning. The levels go like this — Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Saint, King, Emperor, and God. There are two ways to cast spells: through chanting or magic circles. To use magic, you need mana — either from within yourself, or from—"

As Roxy continued, Alex quickly grasped the logic behind her world's system.

But thinking back to all the anime and light novels he'd read in his past life, he couldn't help but ask, "Roxy, are attack, healing, and summoning the only kinds of magic in your world?"

Roxy fell silent for a moment before sighing. "There are also detoxification spells, barrier magic, and divine smiting spells. But barrier and divine spells are monopolized by the Holy Milis Kingdom. Even advanced healing and detoxification chants are tightly restricted — the magic universities are only allowed to teach the basic forms."

"Tch, monopoly again, huh?" Alex clicked his tongue in irritation.

Feudal nobles really did love hoarding knowledge. Ancient Chinese clans had done the same, practically monopolizing all the books.

"Anyway, enough about that. I'll show you how to chant properly." Roxy drew her staff.

"Alright," Alex nodded, focusing on her movements.

She looked around, spotted a small tree near the riverbank, and raised her staff toward it.

"Grant me the blessing of water—Appear where I command—Gather and flow,Aqua Ball!"

As her chant ended, water elements swirled around the tip of her staff, condensing into a shimmering orb.

The water ball shot out like a cannon round and smashed into the tree.

The trunk — thick as a man's thigh — split clean in half.

"Just a beginner spell with that kind of power?" Alex's eyes lit up. He was instantly hooked.

Compared to the Type-Moon world's magecraft, this world's magic was far simpler. No need for complex theory or magic circuits — it was intuitive, efficient, and surprisingly strong.

After the water ball demonstration, Roxy cast a healing spell on the tree, mending the broken trunk.

Under the soft green glow, the branches fused back together — and tiny blossoms bloomed where the break had been.

"It can heal plants too? Even make them grow faster?" Alex stared, utterly impressed. His fascination with this world's magic deepened even further.

"Your turn," Roxy said, handing him her staff.

Alex hesitated. "But I don't have any mana. Can I even cast a spell?"

"Wrong," Roxy said, shaking her head. "The moment you gained magic circuits, mana was born inside you. Maybe not much — but it's there."

"Got it. I'll give it a try."

He pointed the staff at the tree, mimicking her stance and tone.

"Grant me the blessing of water—Appear where I command—Gather and flow,Aqua Ball!"

Water energy gathered at the tip of the staff. A smaller, weaker orb — about half the size of Roxy's — formed and launched toward the tree.

Boom!

Bark splintered, though the trunk itself held firm.

Clearly, his version lacked power — but it worked.

To his surprise, Roxy smiled. "Not bad at all! For your first attempt, that's amazing. Looks like that enhanced magic talent of yours is really paying off."

"But compared to your spell, mine's so weak," Alex grumbled.

Roxy shot him a look. "Oh, please. You've barely learned to crawl, and you're already whining about not being able to run? I'm a Water Saint-class Magician. You're just a beginner!"

"Haha, fair enough. I just… wanna get strong fast," Alex said, scratching his head sheepishly.

Roxy sighed, half amused, half exasperated. Then she pointed toward the damaged tree.

"Alright, since you've got the Aqua Ball down, next you're learning Healing Magic. Your task — fix that tree."

Alex nodded seriously, stepping closer. He replayed Roxy's earlier chant in his mind — and began to recite.

"..."
