Chapter 8 - CHAPTER EIGHT

We just dealt with one who apparently exposed us to humans. And now two. How the hell are we gonna handle that? And much less keep it from those nosy journalists. Also, dragons were strong, very strong. Not even me nor Caleb could match ourselves to them. We only managed to beat the other dragon because there were three of us. But they are now two. So, both of us needed to handle one. Except if we find allies to help us.

After what happened last night, they will be on us day and night. Despite our talk, they will still continue hunting us until they find a story. That is just want the reporters needed to do—the job demanded it.

Since we killed the fire dragon, we were left with the water dragon and the nature dragon.

Crap.

And we haven't heard from them for years, chances where they had multiplied. So, those two bastards weren't the last ones either. They were more.

"Who called you, by the way?" I asked.

"John. He leaves at the werewolf camp. I was too preoccupied with the death of Simon that I even forgot to say hi," he added after noticing my facial expression.

"That friend of yours?"

"Yeah. And don't use that tone. I know it very well."

Before Caleb and his parents moved into town, they used to stay at the werewolf camp. And I only met Caleb in fifth grade. So, I was kinder jealous that he still talked to his former best friend.

"What? I'm not jealous," I said, and looked at the papers to mask up the truth.

"I didn't mention that you are jealous, dammit," he smirked.

I just learned closer and carried on signing the papers on the table. I knew petty jealous should be the last thing in my mind. But I couldn't help it, it just came even when I didn't want to act upon it.

"You are my freaking friend, that will never change. And we have important matters to attend to then your jealous," he said.

"Yeah, let's talk about that instead," I said. "What did he say? Did he see them? Or he is just hallucinating?" I asked.

"They attacked them but him and a couple more other wolves managed to escape."

"Any idea where they might be?"

"Nope," he stood up, "I think we need to get there. We might find more clues."

"But we just got here. And those journalists are probably waiting for us to make a move."

"So, what should we do?" He came back to sit.

I took my phone, called Prince and told him to come to my office.

After a couple of minutes, the door blew inwards. One day I'm gonna kill these bastards for always entering my office without knocking.

"Yes, what do you want?" He asked feeling and pausing like a hero because apparently what we were gonna do involved saving the world somehow.

"Sit down, this is serious," I scolded, and he sat down after hesitation. "You have to pause as me and go outside." I added.

His eyes widened. Opened his mouth and then closed it for a good two minutes before he gasped. "Wait, what? Why?"

"I'm sure those journalists are still outside. And we have to go and attend to more serious matters," I spoke.

"What matters?" He asked

"Prince, just focus on what he is telling you," Caleb shouted.

I didn't want to put Prince in danger, but I also didn't have a choice in this matter. I needed him to do what I asked, or more people would die.

"It's ok. He already knows," I said, looking at Caleb as I realized I haven't informed him about it.

"What!" He gasped, and I'm sure someone probably heard him. "What do you mean, he knows? You mean you told him about...us?"

"I had no choice, man. But don't worry, he won't say anything."

"How sure are you?"

"We made a deal, right Prince?" I looked at him.

"Yeah, sure," he replied dismissively.

"Alright, so you will wear my clothes and use my car. Those journalists are surely going to follow you," I said.

"But you are shorter than me, Jackson. How can I pause as you?"

"When those bastards are hungry for a story, believe me, your height is the least thing they are going to worry about," Caleb said.

"We are gonna save the world. I feel like superman," he said excitedly.

"I'm already regretting this decision," I said lamely.

I quickly began taking my clothes off and gave them to Prince. He also did the same and gave me his clothes.

"What's next?" Prince asked.

"I and Caleb will use the other door. You use the front door. Just don't look at the press or they might recognize you. But make sure to draw their attention," I spoke, buttoning up my shirt.

"Alright," Prince nodded.

"Shall we go then," Caleb said, and we left the office.

Prince went left while I and Caleb went right. We got out of the company and began rounding it. After we reached the corner, I took a peek and saw the journalists following Prince in their cars. Our plan worked. We ran straight but looking from side to side just in case one of them stayed to wait for Caleb. We entered Caleb's car, and he immediately drove off.

After thirty minutes, we reached where the dragon attacked us last night. He parked on the roadside and we got out using one door so no one spotted us. I looked around then after seeing that no one was looking. I gave my hand a casual flick, and the car went invisible. Hopefully, no one saw that. Then I shadow walked us and landed where we were fighting the fire dragon. Then again shadow walked and appeared at the werewolf camp.

"Damn, those bastards destroyed this place. And where did John say we will find him?" I asked.

Almost every tent in the werewolf camp was destroyed. And fire was still burning on top of the tents and on the trees. I wonder if no one saw the fire, burning—I mean, nearly all the trees were burned and smoke was still hovering in the air.

"I few miles from here," Caleb replied.

"Which direction to go? We are literally in a forest, so a few miles won't help. Just tell him to meet us here, will you?" I spoke, looking around.

Caleb took his phone and called John.

We waited for a few minutes, then John appeared from the South. He was a tall dude, even taller than me and Caleb. Dark in complexion and cool black hair. There was no way of describing his clothes because the bastard was naked.

Werewolves.

We needed to do this first before the press got to know about the other two dragons probably walking amongst them in their human forms.

Before they cause Armageddon, we need to catch and kill those bastards.
