Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Moving Into the Community

Lin Sizhi returned to the iron chair he had been sitting on earlier, patiently waiting.

Soon, the television that was previously just static snow once again showed an image.

[Game over, the test has been completed.]

[The comprehensive evaluation of the Wheel of Redemption is: S]

[Congratulations on completing the prerequisite task and obtaining a hidden identity in the New World: God's Imitator.]

[Think like God, judge like God, and also commit severe crimes against humanity like God.]

[You better be careful to conceal your identity because Godslayer is humanity's eternal pursuit.]

[Continue forward, and the New World will issue you a formal visa.]

The image on the television disappeared again, and at the same time, the red emergency exit in the warehouse abruptly opened with a bang.

Sunlight streamed in, illuminating the floating dust in the air.

As soon as Lin Sizhi stepped out of the emergency exit, the red emergency door shut again with a loud bang, locking completely.

As he continued walking down the corridor, the red emergency door at the end gradually disappeared from view.

Not only that, Lin Sizhi patted his right pocket, and the revolver he had placed there had vanished.

The plan had notes: No items can be removed from the game area, or they will disappear into thin air.

Lin Sizhi placed the revolver in his pocket and carried it out of the game area, verifying that this rule was indeed true.

"So, the so-called New World is a mysterious world with supernatural powers.

"Here, any rules officially released by the New World, or game rules designed by the game creators and approved by the New World, will be implemented 100% by supernatural powers."

As Lin Sizhi pondered this, a new emergency exit had already appeared in front of him.

It was currently closed, though.

Beside the exit was a special machine, about a meter high, with instructions on how to use it.

By placing his left hand flat in the handprint position on the machine's surface, the visa wristband would automatically align with the scanning area.

Lin Sizhi tried simply and found the security door could not be opened, so he followed the instructions and placed his left hand on it.

"Beep!"

The machine emitted a prompt sound, while a light flashed above.

Lin Sizhi withdrew his left hand and discovered that the previously undefined material of the black wristband had been imprinted with a circle of abstract pattern barcodes.

In this pattern, near the back of the hand, he could also see his real name "Lin Sizhi," displayed in a manner similar to a stamp.

[Player visa has been issued.]

[Welcome to the New World!]

Simultaneously, the last security door opened with a roar, and bright sunlight streamed in, causing Lin Sizhi to instinctively close his eyes.

Once he adjusted to the glaring light and saw the scene before him, he couldn't help but exclaim.

"New World...

"What kind of place is this?"

The scene before him was like a bustling modern city, trimmed greenery, immaculate paved roads guiding him naturally toward clusters of small buildings.

In the distance, skyscrapers soared into the sky, the sky was a clear blue, and clouds were a bright white.

It even gave Lin Sizhi the illusion that he had arrived in a seaside resort city.

Soon, there were passersby on the street just like Lin Sizhi, their expressions varied—some puzzled, some delighted, some guarded, others curious.

Following the guided paths, they naturally moved toward the small communities.

Lin Sizhi also arrived at the nearest community entrance and stepped inside.

The community featured gardens, lawns, gyms, a swimming pool, and various other facilities.

At the center of the community stood a grand multi-purpose building seen earlier from afar.

This building was about four to five stories high, beautiful in appearance with large bay windows, balconies, and sky gardens.

The lobby was spacious and bright, resembling a high-end hotel.

At the community entrance, there was an access control system, and a sign displayed a prominent message: "Submit visa, process check-in."

Lin Sizhi extended his left hand, placing the visa wristband at the scanner window.

Subsequently, the screen displayed information.

[Visa review completed.]

[Lin Sizhi, welcome to Community 17.]

[You are Community 17's Player No. 12. Please check into the corresponding room and follow community rules for activities.]

[Violations will result in penalties ranging from 'visa time reduction' to 'exile,' depending on the severity.]

[For more detailed rules, please go to the lobby to view the 'Player Code of Conduct.']

Just as Lin Sizhi was about to continue inside, a prompt sounded again.

[The last player's visa in Community 17 has been completed. The community is now full and automatically sealed, no longer accepting new players.]

[Please note that in 5 minutes, the 'Player Code of Conduct' will be read aloud in the lobby.]

Lin Sizhi noticed that the information on the large display screen in the lobby had changed.

Previously displaying "Welcome to Community 17," it had shifted to a 5-minute countdown.

"Everyone's finally here, this way!"

Someone called out to Lin Sizhi.

The lobby, resembling a luxury hotel, was spacious, with a long table for more than ten people, a lounge area with upscale sofas and coffee tables, and a reading section.

Seated around the long table were some individuals, and one of them, wearing frameless glasses, was the one calling him over.

Lin Sizhi quickly swept through the room; there were 11 people around the long table, on single sofas, and staring blankly out the window.

Including himself, there were a total of 12 people.

"I'm in Community 17, if each community has 12 people, there are already at least 200 people here.

"Moreover, there appear to be many such communities, so the real number of 'players' is likely much higher."

Lin Sizhi looked at the long table positioned at the lobby's core and with a perfect view of the screen.

There were 7 people at the table, each separated by an empty space, maintaining a safe distance.

The young man who called to him had an adjacent empty seat, and after a brief deliberation, Lin Sizhi sat at this spot, on the right side of the young man.

As he sat, he discreetly shifted the chair outwards to maintain a safe distance between strangers.

"Hello, I'm still a bit puzzled about our situation here.

"What kind of place is this?"

Lin Sizhi didn't expect much of an answer, suspecting that most of those present were as new and clueless as he was.

However, discussing such topics could serve as a means to build rapport.

"Who knows? I just got here a little before you, and I'm equally clueless.

"Once the rules are read aloud, we can share our own information—maybe we'll figure it out.

"By the way, my name is Fu Chen, pleasure to meet you."

The young man with frameless glasses smiled and extended his hand.

Lin Sizhi hesitated slightly before shaking his hand, "Lin Sizhi."

In such a foreign environment, revealing one's real name seemed unwise; self-protection instincts suggested giving a false name for safety.

However, the 'visa' on his hand had already revealed everyone's real name.

Even if it was concealed, it could easily be uncovered later, causing unnecessary hostility.

As the situation currently stood, the New World seemed to be fostering a harmonious, friendly environment, with no direct hostility between players.

So, after a brief hesitation, Lin Sizhi chose to give his real name.

Soon, the countdown on the screen reached zero.

People returned to their seats around the long table, all eyes on the screen.

An emotionless electronic voice sounded, with images appearing on the large screen to supplement the voice, aiding the audience's understanding.

[Welcome to the New World, players!]

[This is a supernatural world with entirely different rules from the reality you know, so please adhere strictly to the player code to avoid any violations.]

[The rules introduction will be divided into three parts:]

[I. Basic Living Rules]

[II. Community Activity Rules]

[III. Walkway Judgment Rules]

[Please remember all these rules. Violations will result in penalties ranging from 'visa time reduction' to 'exile,' depending on the severity.]

[A detailed introduction follows.]

Lin Sizhi instinctively touched the visa wristband on his left hand.

Literally interpreted, a visa is special permission to stay in a country, and once the visa expires, expulsion follows.

Being expelled from the New World most likely meant death.
