Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: An Extraordinary Body

Ye Yu stood in front of the waterfall, the sound of rushing water growing louder.

This was a 40-meter-tall waterfall, with its turbulent water crashing down onto a smooth giant rock below, sounding like muffled thunder, and causing countless splashes.

Ye Yu took off his shirt, revealing a strong and muscular body. Despite his young age, he already had a defined physique.

Ye Yu bent his body slightly, suddenly pushing off hard with his right foot, leaving a dented footprint on the ground.

Swoosh!

Ye Yu leapt up, jumping two meters high, crossing the five-meter distance to the pool of water and landing on the giant rock.

The long-time battering by the rushing water had made the rock very smooth. Ordinary adults would find it hard to stand firm, let alone jump across.

However, Ye Yu landed steadily on the giant rock, as if he were on flat ground.

From takeoff to landing, Ye Yu demonstrated his extraordinary abilities.

At the age of four, Ye Yu discovered his own immense strength and physical prowess. After finding this waterfall, he decided to give it a try.

The first time he jumped, he landed on the giant rock. Initially, he couldn't stand firm and would stagger due to the slipperiness, but he quickly adjusted without falling.

Strength, physique, reflexes... everything seemed innate, naturally different from ordinary people.

Therefore, Ye Yu was very curious about his identity and Martial Soul.

"My body is extremely unusual. Could it be that when I awaken my Martial Soul, I will awaken a Beast Martial Soul?" Ye Yu speculated.

Those with a Beast Martial Soul have bodies distinct from those of other types of Soul Masters. However, it isn't until level thirty that when performing Martial Soul Possession, the Beast Soul Masters' bodily changes become more pronounced, making them incredibly strong.

For Beast Martial Soul owners, their bodies become stronger with cultivation. Conversely, Ye Yu wondered whether his current robust body indicated a Beast Martial Soul.

"Forget it, no need to think too hard. In three days, I'll find out. If Old Jack doesn't let me go, I'll just have to tie him up at home."

Ye Yu stood under the waterfall. The 40-meter cascade of rushing water wasn't without force.

The water pounded on him, yet Ye Yu's strong physique felt no pain, and he stood as steady as ever on the giant rock.

Enduring the force, Ye Yu began to plant his feet solidly, practicing to stabilize his lower body.

After half an hour, he started on a thousand squats.

Ye Yu placed his hands behind his back, squatted to the ground, and then quickly stood up. Doing this would not only hone his leg muscles but also enhance and improve cardiac and pulmonary functions, promoting blood circulation.

However, two years of daily training hadn't noticeably improved Ye Yu's heart and lung functions, perhaps because his inherent abilities were already quite strong...

After a thousand squats, he did a thousand push-ups, with the waterfall's rushing water hitting his back, considerably increasing the pressure on his body.

Yet Ye Yu seemed very at ease, as if there was no pressure at all.

Following the thousand push-ups, it was one thousand one-handed push-ups, then one thousand with just two fingers...

After finishing, Ye Yu stopped, stood straight, and looked up.

"Let's see if it works this time."

Ye Yu bent his knees, empowered his legs, and forcefully pushed off the rock.

Bam!

Crack...

This jump saw Ye Yu rise against the powerful force of the 40-meter waterfall, splitting the cascade vertically in two.

Bam!

In two breaths, Ye Yu surged from below the waterfall to above, landing on top of the mountain waterfall.

Ye Yu glanced downward, clearly seeing several cracks appearing on the giant rock.

Not only was Ye Yu's body unusual, he also possessed heightened senses.

"My body's become stronger," Ye Yu murmured to himself. "Continuing to train here isn't bringing significant benefits anymore; it seems I need to train differently from now on."

Ye Yu's gaze shifted to a one-meter-tall giant rock by the shore, thinking: "I'll use it for training in the future, but for today, that's enough. Time to head back."

Ye Yu had been training for two and a half hours and decided not to continue, heading home with light steps.

It wasn't due to exhaustion. Though the training seemed intense to others, Ye Yu did not feel the slightest fatigue; he stopped merely because he was hungry.

Arriving home, Ye Yu eagerly called out, "Grandpa Jack, what's for dinner today?"

Before he even reached the door, a man in his sixties came out.

The old man was slender and energetic, dressed in clean and neat brown clothes, with neatly combed hair.

This old man was none other than Holy Soul Village's village elder, Old Jack.

The typically amiable Old Jack now wore a stern expression, furrowing his brows.

"Xiao Yu, you've been training again? Haven't I told you not to?"

"Grandpa Jack, I want to become strong, so naturally, I have to train daily. If I become a powerful Soul Master, wouldn't that also be the glory of Holy Soul Village?"

Old Jack sternly replied, "I've said it before, if you go again, you won't be allowed to eat! You must choose between training and future meals!"

"I choose training," Ye Yu said firmly, "Even if I starve after training, I will not eat a single bite of your food, Old Jack!"

After speaking, Ye Yu patted his rumbling stomach and turned to leave, thinking of going to Tang San's place for food.

Old Jack was helpless; this tactic was entirely ineffective. Rubbing his temples, he couldn't do anything about Ye Yu. He couldn't bear to truly restrict Ye Yu from food.

"Forget it, come inside."

As soon as Old Jack finished speaking, Ye Yu swiftly turned, rushing into the house like the wind.

Old Jack walked in, and Ye Yu had already started eating ravenously, grinning at him.

"Today's meal is really delicious."

Old Jack sighed helplessly, "Ah, I really can't do anything about you."

Quickly finishing his meal, Ye Yu curiously inquired, "Grandpa, you look so clean and neat today. Is it because the Soul Master responsible for the awakening ceremony is coming?"

Old Jack nodded, "Yes."

"Then I can awaken my Martial Soul," Ye Yu said expectantly.

Old Jack firmly replied, "You mustn't go then, stay a regular person. You can inherit the position of Holy Soul Village chief later."

Ye Yu had no interest in being the village chief. "Grandpa, while other parents hope their children succeed, why do you want me to be ordinary and inherit your position? You must tell me why, regarding my background, you're definitely hiding something."

Old Jack shook his head decisively, "I'm not hiding anything. All I know about you is your name. Back then, on the note in your swaddling clothes, there was only one sentence: The child's name is Ye Yu. I know nothing else."

"Grandpa, please let me go then. I might awaken a Wasted Martial Soul, with no Soul Power at all, unable to become a Soul Master, and then I'd give up. Didn't you say before, it's rare for even one out of ten children to possess Soul Power?"

Old Jack's brow twitched, "Absolutely not."

Ye Yu spoke no more, rising to leave, casting a sidelong glance at a coil of rope in the corner of the room.
