Chapter 243 - Chapter 133: Harry Potter and the Secret Chamber (12,000 Words) (Part 4)

"I think you can give it a try," Professor Dumbledore said noncommittally, "perhaps you'll find something."

"If you do find the Chamber and the Basilisk," Dumbledore said again, "I hope you'll return quickly and avoid needless danger; it's best to let the professors handle this trouble."

"No need for fanfare, Professor," Harry said, "I've discussed with the professors in the Map Secret Room and we've reached a decision..."

"What decision?" Professor Dumbledore asked curiously.

"Well..." Harry organized his thoughts and said, "After killing the Basilisk, let's not leak this incident — at least keep it from Voldemort's soul. After sealing the information, we can create an illusion — like you, Mr. Dumbledore, Hogwarts' headmaster, having to leave the school for some reason, and canceling the school's lockdown order, luring Voldemort's soul to the Chamber."

"And I'll ambush at the Chamber's entrance with the professors, waiting for him to arrive; that will be his doom," Harry concluded, knocking on the table firmly.

"That's a good plan," Professor Dumbledore smiled in satisfaction, and then asked, "So what reason do you think should be used to create the illusion that I have to leave the school?"

"Firing the headmaster?" Harry asked tentatively.

Dumbledore shook his head with a smile, "Only the School Board has that power to fire a headmaster..."

"School Board?" Harry was stunned.

"Yes, the School Board," Professor Dumbledore said helplessly, "I hardly know anyone on the School Board, and it's impossible to force them to do something they're unwilling to do."

"I do have an idea," Harry said, pounding his fist, "but if you do agree with this suggestion, Professor, I'll figure out a way."

"Oh?" Professor Dumbledore showed interest, "What method?"

"I'll find a way," Harry didn't want to say more.

Professor Dumbledore raised an eyebrow and acknowledged Harry's words, "Alright, if you can manage it, I'll gladly accept my dismissal order."

"Then just wait for my good news, Professor," Harry said to Professor Dumbledore, "Your dismissal order will be our signal... Oh, there's one more important thing."

"What is it?" Professor Dumbledore asked.

"Well..." Harry scratched his head, "Do you know where Crying Myrtle is? She's the ghost, I need to ask her about the Chamber."

"Ah, she's in the girls' bathroom on the second floor," Professor Dumbledore said frankly, "If you go now, you should be able to find her."

"Alright, Professor," Harry nodded.

After leaving the Headmaster's Office, Harry headed towards the girls' bathroom on the second floor.

As he reached the entrance, Harry hesitated.

He thought... is it really okay to just walk into the girls' bathroom?

What if someone is inside?

"Revelio!"

The spherical Detection Spell spread out but didn't detect anyone in the bathroom.

He carefully entered and cast a lighting spell with his magic wand.

"Myrtle?" Harry asked tentatively, "Where are you?"

There was no response.

He searched the girls' bathroom thoroughly but couldn't find any sign of Myrtle.

Where did she go?

He muttered to himself, waiting outside the girls' bathroom for a while, but still didn't see Myrtle.

Feeling helpless, he returned to the dormitory, planning to search for Myrtle again the next day.

On his way back, Harry felt somewhat dejected.

Why does a ghost wander off when she could just stay in her bathroom?

The next day, Harry checked the bathroom in the morning, afternoon, and evening but still couldn't find any trace of Myrtle.

On Monday, Hermione noticed he seemed out of it, so she sat next to him and asked, "Harry, what's wrong? You seem distracted."

"Thinking about something," Harry looked around and, seeing Seamus and Ron weren't there, quickly whispered to Hermione, "I want to find Crying Myrtle, but I've waited in her usual place for ages and couldn't find her... do you know where she is?"

Hermione listened and looked at Harry with a complex expression.

Harry felt a chill down his spine.

Oh no, too focused on asking about Myrtle and forgot she's in the girls' bathroom.

"Harry, I hope you didn't go into the girls' bathroom," Hermione said with a complex look, "but Myrtle...she seems to appear and disappear unpredictably, not necessarily just in the second-floor bathroom."

"Myrtle?"

Cedric, passing by, heard Hermione's voice.

"Are you talking about Crying Myrtle?" He said, a bit shyly, "I saw her last night, she was in the Class Prefect's bathroom spying on me while I bathed... My goodness, what kind of ghost does that?"

Harry:...

He really couldn't believe a female ghost would spy on male students bathing...

"Do you know where she is now?" Harry asked curiously.

"It seems she offended some girls from Ravenclaw yesterday, and they flushed her down the toilet — she should be in the Black Lake," Cedric said, spreading his hands, "You guys being in second year, it's not strange you don't know about this, but I still think they went too far — it's really unnecessary to treat Myrtle like that."

"Yeah, isn't it just spying on you bathing?" Hermione rolled her eyes.

"So, is there something you need her for?" Cedric seemed to ignore Hermione's sarcasm and asked instead.
