"Why would Loki deceive me?"
Thor was hurt that Loki had lied to him.
Du Mu said: "Why even ask? He obviously doesn't want you to return to Asgard to compete for the throne. It's always like this with royal succession."
Thor sounded distressed: "But I've never wanted to compete with Loki for the throne!"
"You may not think so, but that doesn't mean Loki doesn't. Plus, he's adopted, so he has no birthright."
"What!"
Thor's eyes were wide, staring at Du Mu in disbelief: "You said Loki is adopted!?"
Du Mu nodded: "Yeah, didn't you know? Loki isn't your father's biological son."
"Impossible, absolutely impossible!"
Thor waved his hand in immediate denial, saying to Du Mu: "You must be joking! Loki and I look almost exactly alike, how could we not be brothers!"
Du Mu: "..."
It seems this guy is not only slow-witted but also has some problems with his eyesight.
Du Mu stated frankly: "It's true. Loki is definitely not your biological brother. What's more, he's the son of Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants."
He wasn't making it up; that's what the information about Loki said.
Hearing this, Sif and the Warriors Three were stunned. Was this information they were even allowed to hear?
But Thor clearly didn't believe it. Just as he was about to retort, a sudden loud roar came from the sky.
Boom!!
"Someone has activated the Bifrost!" Sif immediately frowned, alert.
Du Mu was surprised: "Is someone else coming from your side?"
"No."
Hogun shook his head: "Loki is the new King of Asgard now. We came to find Thor without his knowledge. Only Heimdall knows about this."
Just then, Du Mu's communicator rang—it was an emergency call from Agent Coulson.
"Du Mu! We've suddenly been attacked by a mysterious armor, and we've taken casualties! It's heading in your direction now, be careful!"
"Got it."
After Du Mu hung up the call, the system's voice immediately sounded.
[Player Alert! Boss has spawned!]
[Objective: Defeat the Destroyer (Loki Edition)]
[Reward: Dependent on the damage dealt to the Boss. Higher damage equals richer rewards!]
The group quickly exited the pizza shop and saw a huge, silver, humanoid armor advancing toward them in the distance.
"It's the Destroyer!"
Thor instantly recognized the armor.
"What is the Destroyer?" Du Mu asked, seeking clarification.
Thor explained: "That is my father's war armor, and the guardian of the Asgardian armory. Only my father's weapon, the spear Gungnir, can control the Destroyer."
"Gungnir is in Loki's hands now. Only he can be controlling the Destroyer," Sif immediately stated.
"Damn it! Loki isn't trying to control the Destroyer to kill Thor, is he?"
Fandral had never had a good impression of Loki, and a dramatic conspiracy about an adopted son slaying his brother to seize the throne instantly played out in his mind.
"Impossible!"
Thor flatly denied it, his tone firm: "Even though Loki likes to lie, play pranks, and has stabbed me with a knife, I know Loki is a good boy, my dearest brother. He would never do this!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the Destroyer was upon them!
Seeing Thor and the others, the metallic crossbar on the Destroyer's face swiftly flipped open, revealing a hollow head. A powerful surge of energy rapidly gathered in its core!
"Get clear!"
Sif shouted, and the others scattered to the side.
Boom!!
A searing beam of energy struck the spot where they had just been standing, instantly melting a massive, scorched crater into the asphalt road!
Everyone gasped as they looked at the terrifying, smoking hole.
Du Mu mused for two seconds: "How about we hand Thor over? Maybe Loki will make the Destroyer retreat once he has Thor. He's Thor's dear brother, after all; he won't kill him."
Hearing this, Thor paused, his face full of righteous indignation: "You were right just now. It seems Loki truly has changed. He is no longer the good brother I knew. We must stop him!"
Everyone: "..."
We don't know if Loki has changed, but your face certainly changed fast.
"For Asgard!"
The Warriors Three rushed toward the Destroyer without hesitation, swinging their weapons to strike its metal body!
However, their attacks were completely ineffective. They didn't leave even a scratch on the Destroyer.
Clang!
The Destroyer's massive arm swung out violently. The three 'scratch-masters' couldn't dodge in time and were instantly flung dozens of meters away by the terrifying force, crashing into distant shops and cars!
Du Mu raised an eyebrow.
I think that was the car I got from Agent Sitwell.
Just then, Sif leaped up from behind the Destroyer, landing gracefully on its back.
Grasping a long spear with both hands, she drove it with all her might through the gap in the Destroyer's neck and deep into the asphalt pavement below, pinning it to the ground!
Before Sif could let out a breath, the Destroyer began to move again. The metallic crossbars on its body quickly rotated, and its back instantly became its front. Powerful energy rapidly converged in the core.
Sif's face changed drastically. Without thinking, she quickly leaped off the Destroyer's body and backward!
Boom!
The next moment, a blast of searing energy passed right by Sif's hair, a terrifyingly near miss!
Sif immediately put distance between them after landing, her eyes filled with unprecedented gravity.
The terrifying strength displayed by the Destroyer was demoralizing.
Forget resisting its attack; even if it stood still and allowed them to attack, they couldn't budge the indestructible armor an inch.
How are we supposed to fight this?
The Destroyer yanked the spear out of its body. Its face turned toward Sif, and energy once again surged and converged within the hollow helmet!
Just as the Destroyer was about to unleash the energy beam, an orange-red beam of light slammed directly into the Destroyer!
Boom!!
With a tremendous roar, the Destroyer's enormous body was instantly blasted off the ground and sent flying backward, where it crashed!
Sif looked over and saw a similarly huge, military-green Mech standing not far away, tightly clutching a cool-looking Plasma Railgun!
"What is that thing?"
Everyone was stunned.
Jane and the other Earthlings were equally bewildered.
They had been in New Mexico for a while and thus weren't aware of what had happened in Harlem that night.
Seeing the Destroyer struggle to get up, the core of the BT Mech's Plasma Railgun hummed again, and a ferocious orange-red energy rapidly gathered at the muzzle!
Boom!!
The next moment, a plasma round shot out, instantly striking the Destroyer's chest as it had just propped up its upper body!
The massive kinetic force slammed it violently back into the ground, and a blinding burst of plasma sparks exploded at the point of impact, scattering energy turbulence!
However, as the electric light and dust gradually cleared...
All that was visible on the Destroyer's shiny silver armor were patches of scorched blackness. Its overall structure remained as solid as ever, clearly having sustained little damage.
