Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Attack on the Slave Hunter!

Margarethe hesitated for a moment, but she finally made her decision.

"I can agree to your request, but only after we save all the elves from the Zelle tribe."

"And this is a deal. There will only be one child between us."

As she spoke, Margarethe lowered her eyes, and her face was hard to read.

The Zelle tribe was already in ruins. They weren't like they used to be. Now, they couldn't even handle a group of Slave Hunters. In this situation, it was pointless to argue about those things. It would only make the Zelle tribe's situation worse.

Plus, even though Lucian's words were strange, Margarethe didn't see the usual greed and desire in his eyes like a normal nobleman.

He seemed to really want a child. A child who could share his inheritance.

Margarethe found it strange, but she couldn't figure out why Lucian had chosen this. If all of this was just a fake to get her body, then his acting was too good.

But Margarethe wasn't the kind of person who would let go of a rabbit without seeing it first. If she couldn't save her tribe's elves, she would rather die with him than let any human take advantage of her.

"I understand the information," Lucian said after thinking for a moment. "But attacking the Slave Hunter needs more planning. We need to know who is behind this Slave Hunter."

At this, Margarethe nodded. Her eyes also showed a bit of happiness. Seeing Lucian take this seriously, it seemed like saving the Zelle tribe's elves was on his mind too.

She also knew that if the Slave Hunter wasn't backed by a noble, such a profitable business wouldn't be controlled by just one Slave Hunter.

To fight this Slave Hunter, what Lucian said made sense.

Another few months passed.

Lucian had finally learned all the information about that Slave Hunter.

To be honest, this Slave Hunter had some connection to Lucian.

Behind him was a noble named "Michael Brown" from Ironforge. He was the head of the Brown family and one of Tom's loyal dogs. Tom didn't like to do the dirty work himself, so he let the Brown family do it instead.

It was only because of the reputation of the Martin family that Michael Brown managed to become a noble in Ironforge. He spent his days showing off and causing trouble, making the common people angry.

The Slave Hunters run by the Brown family were one of the most important parts of their gray market industry.

They did a lot of things like kidnapping, stealing, and even kidnapping people in the street. But because of the Brown family's power, the common people in Ironforge couldn't say a word. They just had to swallow their anger.

As for the nobles, they turned a blind eye because of Tom's name. After all, the Slave Hunters wouldn't attack the nobles, and it had nothing to do with them. They didn't want to get on bad terms with Tom.

Only Lucian, the weird one, knew that Tom was just a fake strong guy. He was all show and no go. That was why he dared to kill Tom in the street. Other nobles were trying to stay away from the Martin family. They wouldn't dare to get on Tom's bad side.

When Lucian found out that it was the Brown family behind it, he was happy to get involved. He might as well settle old scores and new ones all at once.

"I got the information," he said. "The elves of the Zelle tribe have found a buyer. They will be taken out of the city after the gates close tonight."

"Back then, that's when we should strike."

Lucian called Margarethe over and said to her.

Over these months, Margarethe had stayed inside the Becker estate. She didn't have to sleep outside in the cold, but the worry about the Zelle tribe made her look anxious and tired, her face a little pale.

But this didn't make her any less attractive. If anything, it gave her a kind of sad beauty.

She had thought about taking action, but the Slave Hunter's base was in Ironforge. Even if the two of them saved the elves from the Zelle tribe, it would still be hard to get out of Ironforge with the Brown family blocking their way.

"Did my brothers and sisters already die?"

Margarethe sighed and said, worried.

Lucian shook his head and calmly explained, "To the Slave Hunters, the elves are a big deal. If they were sold to nobles, the Zelle tribe's elves might not be treated well, but they wouldn't get hurt."

"Whole elves are worth more."

Even though Lucian's words were a little cold, they still calmed Margarethe down. To the Slave Hunters, the elves were just goods. Whole elves were more valuable, so they were safe before they were sold.

The Slave Hunters had been dragging their feet in Ironforge for so long because of this. It was a big deal, so the seller had to be careful.

"Okay, then we leave now."

Lucian nodded and pulled out a map, pointing to a spot. This was their way through. We'll ambush them here.

It was late at night.

In the dark forest, Lucian and Margarethe were close together.

Margarethe was just a 3 stage Rogue.

Her shadow magic was good, but it didn't cover a big area. To include Lucian, they had to get close.

Skin to skin, warm feelings came from Lucian's body. The knight's strong body felt like a big furnace. In the quiet and cold night, it was natural to move closer to each other.

This was a basic instinct, even for elves.

Margarethe's face turned a little red, but it quickly went away. She focused on what was in front of her.

A group of carts with prisoners slowly came over. They held torches and looked around carefully.

Even though the carts were covered with thick cloth, Margarethe could still feel the strong, natural magic of the elves inside.

Lucian saw this and hid his energy. He pointed to one of the leaders and said, "We kill him first."

He was pointing to one of the three main leaders, an Archer. He wasn't just 3 stage, he was the biggest threat to both of them. He had to go first.

Margarethe nodded and used her [Shadow Step] instantly, rushing toward the Archer leader with Lucian.

[Shadow Step] is one of the shadow magic techniques that Rogues can use. It lets the Rogue appear out of the shadows for a surprise attack. It's one of the hardest abilities for a killer to deal with.

And this time, the Shadow Step also included Lucian, a 3 stage knight.

"[Rapid Slash!]"

Lucian appeared from the shadows, and his sword shot out right away. The Rapid Slash, which had knight energy attached to it, suddenly slashed toward the Archer's position.

Even Tom, a 3 stage knight, couldn't dodge Lucian's Rapid Slash. How could this Archer, who was being surprised, possibly survive? And this time, Lucian wasn't using a crutch-he was holding a real knight's long sword.

He didn't even have time to make a sound. The 3 stage Archer was cut in two by Lucian's strong attack.

"[Enemy attack]"

The 4th stage Warrior leader at the front immediately realized something was wrong. He shouted loud, and the rest of the slave hunters quickly surrounded the carts. They looked at Lucian and Margarethe with anger.

"Who are you?"

Lucian raised his knight sword and narrowed his eyes. He said calmly, "The people who will kill you."

Blood from the sword dropped down, making a soft drip drip sound on the ground. The Warrior leader looked at the body of his fallen comrade and his face was full of anger.

"A little 3 stage knight and a 3 stage Rogue? You dare to stop us? You really don't know what you're doing."

"Brothers! Get him!"

The Warrior leader raised his axe and ran toward Lucian with a big smile.

He laughed and said, "You will regret your choice for the rest of your life!"
