Chapter 4 - Hotel Grand Height

Hotel Grand Height.

A five-star hotel, well-known for its luxurious rooms and top-notch service.

It contains 125 rooms, spread over 12 floors, and has an outdoor pool and a fitness center.

It had a restaurant, a bar, and a spa.

You can say that it was one of the most popular hotels in our city.

Many businessmen and politicians stayed here, and many meetings were conducted here too.

More than that, it was an expensive place and only a few could afford it.

It was a place where rich people came to enjoy their life.

But, the person I was looking for wasn't a rich man or woman.

'Let's go,' I said as I made my way toward the hotel.

My steps were light, and my heart was filled with anticipation.

I was excited.

'I wonder why she didn't messaged?'

It was the girl I was eagerly waiting to get a message from, before my death.

But, sadly, it didn't come.

She must be busy with work.

'I wonder how she would react seeing me?'

My smile widened as I imagined her surprise.

But first I should give her a call.

I pulled out my phone and dialed her number.

Ring, Ring, Ring.

No response.

'Weird.'

The ringing continued for a few more seconds, but still, no one picked up the call.

'That's strange. She usually answers within the first few rings.'

'Let me try again.'

I dialed her number once more.

Ring, Ring, Ring.

But this time it got a response and that was...

Beep, Beep, Beep.

The call had been disconnected.

'Did she reject my call?'

I dialed her number again, but it went directly to the voice mail.

'What's happening?'

A sense of unease started to build up inside me.

'I am getting a bad feeling about this.'

'Let's go and check it out.'

I quickened my pace and headed toward the hotel.

Soon, I reached the lobby and immediately scanned the area for any signs of the person I was looking for.

But, there was no sign of her.

'Where is she?'

I made my way toward the reception desk.

"Hi, how may I help you, sir?" The receptionist greeted me with a smile. It was a lady in a formal black dress.

"I would like to meet a girl who works here. Her name is..."

"Sir, I'm sorry but if you don't have an appointment then you can't meet any of the girls here." She interrupted me.

"Ok, then I will wait until she finishes her shift." I said, smiling.

"I'm sorry sir, but you can't wait here. If you want to wait, then please come again later." She said, her voice firm and her gaze unwavering.

'Huh, I was expecting this much. She is a hard worker, isn't she?'

'Well, if she doesn't let me, then I will just have to—'

Suddenly, the phone at the reception rang.

"Excuse me for a second," the receptionist said, picking up the phone.

"Wait! What?" The receptionist's eyes widened as she listened to the person on the other end of the line.

Something must have happened.

Hopefully, it isn't related to her.

"I will be there," the receptionist said, hanging up the phone.

"There's been an incident. I have to go. You can wait here, sir. The security guard will look after you." She informed me before leaving the reception.

'Incident?'

'What could have happened?'

My heartbeat increased, and a sense of foreboding washed over me.

"Damn it," I cursed under my breath, as I ran after the receptionist.

Please be safe, Yoonhe.

My Yoonhe.

I don't care what happens, but please be safe.

I ran through the hallways and stairs, following the receptionist.

Soon, we reached a crowd of people, gathered around. Most of them were maids, guards, and staff members. They were all staring at something.

'What could have caused this much commotion?'

"This bitch deserves it!" Suddenly a voice shouted, "She stole my wedding ring and had the audacity to deny it."

Someone stole a wedding ring.

"How could you even say that?" Another voice spoke up as if trying to protect someone, "We can't be sure unless we have proof."

'Who might it be?'

I pushed through the crowd and made my way to the center.

"Please, you are all misunderstanding," Yoonhe said, her voice trembling, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Then explain it," There was a woman in his 30s wearing a wedding dress. She looked like she was in her prime and her figure was a beauty.

"I-I..." Yoonhe stammered, unable to form words.

'That woman in the wedding dress must be the one who accused Yoonhe of stealing her wedding ring.'

"I knew it," the woman said, her voice dripping with venom, "you are a thief. And, what's worse is you are a poor, uneducated, and stupid thief."

'Uneducated, and stupid!'

'This is how you talk to a person. She doesn't even have the evidence and is calling her names.'

'Fck her!'

'I will teach her a lesson she won't forget.'

But before I could do anything the woman raised her hand and was going to slap Yoonhe but...

I caught her hand mid-air.

"Huh?" She muttered, her eyes widening.

"You dare?" I spoke, my voice cold and calm.

"Huh, what are you doing? Who are you?" The woman said, trying to free her hand.

"Huh? Rael?" Yoonhe said, her face painted with a mixture of confusion and happiness.

"Yeah, it's me." I smiled, my eyes never leaving the woman.

"What the hell are you doing? Let me go," the woman's voice rose, her anger apparent.

"Shut up!" I said, my grip tightening.

"Ouch!" The woman cried out in pain.

Hearing it the guards rushed to us.

"Let her go," the security guard said, his tone threatening.

"Oh, what will you do if I don't?" I said, not releasing the woman's hand.

But... I think getting Yoonhe out of here is more important.

Should I grab her and run away?

Of course not. There is no way I can. I mean just look at the crowd.

The crowd had grown and everyone was watching the drama.

So, I did what I could.

I let go of the woman's hand.

And...

The system is also not saying anything. He won't be able to help me, looking at how it couldn't even show me my status.

Man, I wish I could have a computer now.

If not, a laptop, or tablet, or a smartphone, or something.

But, no.

All I had was a shitty old phone, a gift from my father.

If just I could have something latest...
