After the third strike hit him, he coughed out silver blood. After the fifth strike, his breathing became haggard, he started looking pale and the lightning was only getting stronger. After the seventh strike, his vision started to fade and he knew this would be where he died. The eighth strike his and his core shattered, he started suffocating, no longer able to live in the void.
As he died, he thought about the life he lived and couldn't help feeling regret. He was Bai Long, the dragon emperor, who ruled over the cosmos for nearly a billion years. Everyone knew and feared him, although he didn't know why people feared him. He ruled justly and fairly, always listening to the minsters of every world to improve the life of every living being.
"I guess those old coots were right." He lamented as he remembered about the one topic he always refused. His imperial ministers always asked his to get an empress, so he can finally have an heir to replace him, but he refused every time saying no one was worthy. He managed to reach the Transcendent Dao realm, six realms higher than the previous strongest person in existence and only one realm away from reaching the pinnacle of existence. He wanted someone worthy of him yet throughout a billion years no one appeared.
His vision blackened entirely and even though he knew he was about to die, he couldn't help thinking of the people he ruled instead of himself. He loved his people and with that thought alone, his heart came to a stop, the ruler of the galaxy, dead.

In a dark cave, a shining golden egg started to shake violently.

The egg, now ridded with cracks, started falling apart and revealing a long golden body curled up. The figure slowly unwrapped and started stretching it's limbs, the glimmer of the egg, shining just enough on its body to reveal its appearance as dragon.
A large body, with 2 massive wings and 4 legs. The embodiment of a mythical creature. As its eyes opened, there was a trace of confusion in those beautiful silver eyes.
'Didn't I die? How come I'm conscious again and why do I feel so weak?'
With that fought, he started inspecting his body and to his surprise, his body no longer had the length to encompass mountains and rivers but instead had reverted to and infantile dragon body, merely reaching ten meters in length.
'It seems I've been reborn. Heaven has given me another chance at life and this time I'll make sure to surpass all mortal limits and enter the realm of boundless origin.'
With that thought in mind, Bai Long started inspecting his body wishing to uncover the talent of this new body. Delving deep into his consciousness, Bai Long was incredibly shocked and couldn't help but look forward to the future.
'Eternal Ember Root, a root long thought of as mere legend. The number one root under the heavens( shared with Eternal Frost root). This root only ever appeared once before and that human reached realm 19. It seems even the heavens were saddened at my death. I just hope my physique would be equally good.'
Bai Long then started studying his internal flesh, trying to grasp what physique he had.
'Voidflame Constitution! Will I even need to work to increase my realm in the future.'
What Bai Long thought wasn't unfounded as the Voidflame Constitution was one of the 2 top physique's in existence. Once obtained by a human, he managed to cultivate till the immortal emperor realm without even a spiritual root. Had he obtained a spiritual root, even a basic one, he would have rivalled the previous human emperor who cultivated till realm 19.
Unbeknown to Bai Long, as he was busy getting surprised around every corner, the entire cosmos had evolved into chaos, since a silver sun appeared next to the original sun in every minor and major world practically declaring that the next ruler of the cosmos had been born.
