Days turn into weeks, weeks into months. Four months have passed since Silver learned of his Aura. He got more proficient at using it in many ways, placing marks around the nearby Oasis. By now, Silver has already placed marks on all five Oasis that the Lunar Tribe owns, granting him coordinates which he can use anytime he needs it. It is early in the morning when Silver sits in the chief's tent expecting some people. Ragan decided it is time that Silver knew the trade that the Tribe needs and has, preparing him for the future where he will one day lead the tribe.
Silver, having nothing to do, decided to play around using the knowledge he got about Aura. It's been a week since he started training a new way to use his Aura. He dispersed a constant wave, similar to that of a radio wave, all around him to perceive his surroundings. It has the same property as that of a bat's echolocation, making Silver able to detect his surroundings even those he can't see. As long as the objects or people in its range are in the same reality or space, he can in some way detect that person.
That skill is inspired by how Aura Masters use their aura to affect their surroundings to detect presence or try to see something which their eyes couldn't see. It is what Bruda was trying to do when Silver first tried using his Aura. Ragan, who also has a Lightning Aura attribute, felt the aura that Silver dispersed. He smiled at what his son was doing, then sent out an Aura which disrupted Silver's wave of Aura.
"Long way to go, try to make it stable and less obvious," said Ragan with a smile.
Silver, having felt what just happened, decided that a constant wave of energy would give away what he was doing, and doing it for a prolonged battle was not ideal. So he took a different approach after hearing his father's advice. He changed the way he sent out his aura to the surrounding objects. Rather than constantly sending out wave after wave like a static signal, Silver made it so he sent out a wave of Aura that constantly sent out ticking waves, like that of a radar. It uses less Aura but has the same effect. Even with the slight delay of each wave being sent out, Silver can detect everything and respond to it with his reflexes if there is something. And because he sent out a ticking wave, if that wave got broken, another one would come afterwards detecting them even if they tried to break the first wave.
Or rather, if someone even broke the first wave, Silver would know their position because he detected that his wave got disrupted at that exact location. Ragan, having felt that Silver started to change his approach but not knowing what he just did, did the same thing. He broke the wave coming from Silver, but before he could speak to give out another advice, a wave of Aura passed through him, then another wave, and another wave. The wave of Aura from Silver is a weak current. He knows that it can be constantly used as the wave uses a very small amount that it's almost non-existent.
"Smart brat.." said Ragan, smiling again as he saw his son grinning towards him. But he saw that Silver, who was grinning, now had more of a serious face. He then realized that Silver could detect presence constantly, so he might have detected that the Envoy of the Eastern Empire has come to meet them.
Ragan looked towards where Silver was looking then sighed deeply. "So they've come.." he said before standing up, ready to greet the people that wanted to meet him.
As the Envoy were welcomed and had their breakfast, they were then led towards the tent that was used for a large-scale meeting. The Eastern Empire, known for their lightning-fast combat moves in battlefields, are well known even in the Black Desert of the South. Even most of the Black Desert tribes use their aura techniques as a reference to create their own tribal techniques to utilize Aura, as their technique fits well with the desert's way of combat. Many of the desert warriors, who were once warriors of fallen tribes and then became mercenaries, are known to use the very same technique originating from the ancient techniques of the Eastern Empire.
The ruler of the East, Long Haixe, is now the 21st Emperor of the Baiyue Empire of the East. It is said that their empire was founded by a man who traveled across the world, and the techniques that are being passed down are the very same techniques that are now used as the main foundation of the Eastern Empire's high attack and high-speed maneuvers that the Eastern people use to this day.
At the Lunar Tribe tent, the Baiyue Empire envoys were chatting happily with Ragan, discussing future cooperation. The Lunar Tribe is placed in the eastern part of the southern desert lands. The tribe needs iron to arm its warriors, and the Baiyue Empire needed Black Stone which is abundant in the Black Desert, found in the cores of the beasts that roam the desert.
A losing trade for the desert tribesmen, as 1kg of iron will be priced at around 20 Black Stones, which the desert tribesmen need to face the danger of killing the said beasts. But even if Ragan knew this, he can't do a thing about it, knowing that the danger of the now expanding power of the desert—the Khala'ad Tribe—is growing bigger by the year. Ragan knew that in three years' time Falaz, the tribal chief of the Khala'ad Tribe, will have finished his conquest of dominating the scattered tribes in the western side of the Black Desert, so he must prepare his tribe for the worst scenario which will happen later.
Silver, having known that, saw his father in a new light. A strong man is not the only thing that is needed to become a chief. He saw the trouble that his father had and knew that even if the tribe wanted it, they could do nothing about it. He saw that the Baiyue Empire envoy brought someone important on this visit to try and show their sincerity. By Silver's observation, as the adults were talking, the important guest they brought might be the prince of the said empire. Silver, having seen this through, wanted to propose an idea. He saw that the prince seemed to have trained in Aura too and seemed to be strong and confident in his ability.
"Respected Envoy of the East, may I know this friend who is around the same age as me?" said Silver while placing his fist on his chest, showing his respect, but his face was plastered with a grin that Ragan knew meant the boy had something in mind, so he let the boy be.
"Ah, pardon me, Young Moon. This is Long Lingxu, the 5th Prince of Baiyue. He wanted to see the desert, so he decided to follow us to see the wonders in the desert," said the fat Envoy, who spoke the language of the desert quite well, showing his frequent visits to the desert tribes.
"I've heard tales of the Eastern Aura technique from my father. Does the Prince of the East learn it too?" asked Silver towards the envoy, but his eyes were looking directly into Long Lingxu's eyes.
Before the Envoy could translate, Long Lingxu, as the genius of his era, understood what Silver was indicating. He saw that the boy facing him right now had something on his mind, so Lingxu stood up and drew his blade, which earned the surrounding warriors' attention as they saw this as an act of war.
"Let's dance, Moon of the Desert," said Lingxu shortly, as he only knew the language of the desert a little, from learning it from the Envoy a week ago. Lingxu, not knowing that the Moon of the Desert is the chief of the tribe, still had the same expression. But everyone in the room, including the Envoy, saw this as treason—a challenge towards their tribe.
Before everyone grew uncontrollable, Silver stopped the anger of the warriors of the Lunar Tribe. "Enough, he doesn't understand our language yet. He wants to have a quick spar with me, not with my father, so hold your horses," said Silver, grinning like always as he took his wooden sword.
"I do not look down upon you, young moon of the East. It is just that I cannot fight with an iron blade as I have not yet finished my coming of age, so pardon me for only being able to use this wooden sword," said Silver towards the Prince, then looked towards the Envoy to translate it to him.
Lingxu, hearing the translation of what Silver said, smiled, and then put his sword back into its sheath, then nodded at Silver. They then walked towards the training ground, followed by the adult group to see what would happen with this spar.
