Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: The Little Vampire in the Castle 9

Yu Deng had been wandering through the maze for hours, shifting between three men, and was already exhausted. After closing his eyes, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

The heavy curtains were tightly drawn, blocking out the blood-red moonlight, but vampires' eyesight was exceptional, and the darkness did not hinder their vision.

Wen Luo stood at the edge of Yu Deng's bed, watching him without blinking.

The young master, asleep, appeared even more obedient than during the day. His beautiful face was buried in the pillow, his breathing shallow, and his fluffy black hair slightly lifted.

The little vampire was particularly sensitive to heat, and soon, he mumbled and turned over, kicking the light blanket to the floor.

Without the blanket, his slender, pale legs were exposed, coming into full view in Wen Luo's line of sight.

The short-sleeved shirt Yu Deng wore also rode up due to his movements, revealing a section of his soft, fair waist.

After kicking the blanket off, Yu Deng felt much cooler, and his brows and eyes relaxed in satisfaction as he sank deeper into his dream.

Everything in the darkness stimulated Wen Luo's vision.

The black-haired man silently stood by Yu Deng's bed, his breathing becoming slightly heavier.

The little bat hung upside down at the head of the bed, while the raven perched on a ceiling ornament. Both little creatures watched for a while, somehow feeling that the butler might need to be on guard...

Yu Deng slept even more deeply, murmuring incoherently as if dreaming. Wen Luo couldn't make out what he was saying, but it vaguely sounded like a name.

Wen Luo silently leaned down, close to Yu Deng's cheek, and whispered softly, "Young master, who else have you kissed before?"

His emerald eyes narrowed as he counted the possibilities, "Was it those two werewolves? Or the prince? Or some other man I don't know?"

Of course, Yu Deng, still fast asleep, didn't answer.

Yu Deng only vaguely sensed that someone was speaking near his ear, disturbing his dream. Annoyed, he raised his hand and swatted it away.

Wen Luo gently grasped his delicate wrist and pressed his lips to the tips of Yu Deng's fingers.

"You are so beautiful, so captivating. You can't afford to be without caution. Those two werewolves today would have gladly devoured you. Why did you let them hold you like that?"

Wen Luo patiently continued, "You should be wary of every man who approaches you. Even I... you should be cautious of me."

The black-haired man lowered his head, his rough fingers softly caressing Yu Deng's delicate face.

That soft skin was so sensitive that even the slightest touch caused a faint flush and a tingle of discomfort.

Yu Deng groaned in dissatisfaction. Wen Luo did not stop; instead, he continued his gentle touch, finally pressing his fingers onto the young master's rosy lips, applying slightly more pressure.

"Little master, I also want to kiss you."

The little bat and the raven were stunned: "!?" What—this pervert is one of our own!!!

They were shocked for a few seconds, fluttering into the air, preparing to fight the vampire butler in a desperate battle.

Wen Luo's gaze momentarily left Yu Deng, and with one swift motion, he grabbed one of the creatures and walked to the window, tossing them outside.

The two little creatures: "???"

They were furious, but dared not make a sound to avoid waking the young vampire who was peacefully asleep. Instead, they shot Wen Luo an angry glare.

"Sorry, you two are disturbing my watch over the young master's rest," Wen Luo said with a faint smile, then without hesitation, closed the window, leaving the creatures outside staring in disbelief.

The bat and the raven outside stared at each other: "…" Unforgivable!

---

As the night deepened, the few players who had just finished the maze game were exhausted, but they dared not let their guard down enough to fall into a deep sleep.

They had pushed through for hours, but now, fatigue weighed heavily on them.

Each guest at the banquet had their own private room. One player was staying in a guest room designated for the vampires. He had managed to stay awake through most of the night, but exhaustion finally overcame him, and he drifted off to sleep.

Click.

The heavy door to his room creaked open, and the sound of excited footsteps and heavy breathing came from the entrance. The player jerked awake and looked up to see a massive dark figure standing in front of him.

He immediately recognized the figure—it was the victorious werewolf.

"Hey, long time no see," the werewolf said with an exaggerated grin.

The man scrambled to his feet in a panic, knocking over a chair with a loud crash. "What are you doing here at this hour, sir?"

The werewolf's smile widened. "Of course, I came to find the sacrifice. Human."

The man's face turned pale, and he forced out a dry laugh. "Are you joking? I'm a vampire."

"No, no, no. Your acting is far too poor." The werewolf grinned, clearly enjoying the man's growing fear. "Let me tell you why I can recognize you. Aside from the fact that the leader of the Achiayori family is a freak... no werewolf would ever trust a vampire's polite words, and no vampire would eagerly engage in conversation just because a werewolf said something nice."

The werewolf paused as if remembering something. "Except for Anders, that fool, who seems to have fallen in love with the young vampire master and is constantly fawning over him. Other than that, any vampire and werewolf that manage to become friends have known each other for at least thirty years."

The werewolf's eyes gleamed as he watched the man's terror deepen. "And you, my friend, didn't even do your homework before disguising yourself?"

With that, the man's vampire traits began to slowly fade, revealing his true nature.

Realizing there was no escape, the player desperately threw every item he had accumulated from previous dungeons, hoping to make a break for it.

But in a moment of utter despair, he discovered the door had been blocked. The werewolf's towering form grew even larger, and his sharp fangs gleamed menacingly.

The room absorbed all sounds, silencing the outside world beneath the blood-red moon. The reason hunters were called hunters was simple—they held an absolute advantage over the players.

The prey could not escape the hunter's grasp.

"…"

[Ding. Remaining players: 7.]

[Ding. Congratulations, player. You have triggered the hidden identity rule: When a player's human identity is discovered, and sufficient evidence is presented, their disguise will completely vanish.]

An electronic voice echoed in the ears of all players. The system's announcement sounded almost mocking.

Yu Deng had been sleeping soundly but was abruptly jolted awake by the loud electronic sound, which seemed as loud as thunder.

He shot up, his heart pounding, his eyes reddened from the shock, tears quickly welling up.

It took him a few moments to process what the system had just said.

A player had died, and the new identity rule had made the dungeon's difficulty rise once again.

"Young master, are you alright?"

A small light illuminated the room as Wen Luo looked at Yu Deng with concern.

The vampires preferred dim lighting, except for the chandelier in the banquet hall. Everywhere else, the lighting was subdued, including in Yu Deng's room.

But in that moment, the warm, dim light helped Yu Deng gather himself, pulling him out of his shock and fear.

He lowered his head, his expression filled with sadness. "It was just a nightmare."

In this dangerous, perilous world, death seemed like the most ordinary thing. Veteran players couldn't avoid all the dangers, and he wasn't as clever as they were… Could he really clear the dungeon? He still had many special tasks to complete.

"Wen Luo, just say something random." Yu Deng's lashes drooped. "I can't sleep… Don't stand there, come sit closer."

Wen Luo realized the young master's mood was off. He suppressed any lingering thoughts and sat on the edge of the bed, gently placing an arm around Yu Deng's shoulders, offering a soft response. "Anything? Let me think... it seems like you're interested in the banquet, young master?"

"Ah, right. The relationship between vampires and werewolves isn't exactly friendly, is it? Why would there be such a banquet?"

Wen Luo paused for a few seconds before responding, "Hundreds of years ago, the church carried out a large-scale purge of non-humans. The vampires and werewolves briefly formed an alliance. Later, for various reasons, this banquet became a tradition that was preserved."

Yu Deng seemed to understand, but only vaguely.

"Young master, werewolves are cunning creatures, and have always been," Wen Luo emphasized again. "Of course, many vampires are the same."

Yu Deng quietly listened to the butler's words before slowly drifting off to sleep again.

However, this time, his sleep was restless, and he woke up early the next morning.

With the butler's help, Yu Deng changed into his clothes and drank a little blood. He didn't have much of an appetite this time and stopped after just a small sip.

By now, many guests had already gotten up and were gathered around the door to one of the bedrooms. It was clearly the room of the player who had been killed last night.

"Young master? Would you like to take a look?"

Yu Deng felt some fear but nodded anyway, "Let's take a look."

As the young vampire approached, the others naturally made way for him. Only Anders squeezed in beside Yu Deng.

The room was in complete disarray, with chairs and tables knocked over, as if it had been through a violent attack.

The deceased player had reverted to his original appearance. He was a middle-aged man with a square face, his throat broken, lying in a pool of blood.

Yu Deng lowered his eyes, not looking further.

Both the butler and Anders looked somewhat disdainful of the scene, but the other non-humans were visibly excited. The werewolf hunter's size seemed to have swollen even more, and he appeared quite pleased with himself.

Yu Deng glanced at the noisy crowd of onlookers, fell silent for a moment, and instructed Wen Luo, "You... have them take care of the human. Find a place to bury him."

The butler nodded in acknowledgment.

---

After a few hours of recovery, Yu Deng managed to regain some energy.

He decided it was time to increase his combat strength. The higher his strength, the better his chances of defending himself in case of danger!

Let's see... In this dungeon, his special identity was that of a vampire, and his power was linked to that.

At the moment, the only noticeable change Yu Deng felt was that his eyesight had greatly improved, but he didn't feel any difference in his movement speed yet.

Not far off, the little bat responsible for looking after Yu Deng flew over, holding a few fruits in its claws, and diligently placed them in his palm.

—The young master seems to really like fruits, so I just went to pick some delicious ones for him!

"Hm? You brought me something to eat? Thank you."

Yu Deng tasted one of the fruits the bat had brought him, then stuffed the remaining two into his pocket. Watching the little bat fly away, he suddenly had an idea.

Right, he still had a pair of wings! Everyone else's bat wings could let them fly, so his should work too, right?

Yu Deng thought for a moment and decided to give flying a try.

If nothing else, learning to fly would greatly improve his chances of escaping if something went wrong! Perfect, he had made up his mind—he was going to learn how to fly!

He found his butler and proposed his grand goal: "Wen Luo, I want to learn to fly."

Wen Luo's gaze lingered for a while on the small wings behind Yu Deng, before he gave a symbolic nod of encouragement. "Of course, young master. I'll teach you the techniques of flying."

Following Wen Luo's instructions, Yu Deng was led to a semi-outdoor room in the main building. The high ceiling made it an ideal space for a beginner to practice flying.

"Try flapping your wings quickly, young master, and feel the flow of the air."

Since this was Yu Deng's first time with wings, his flying skills were essentially nonexistent. He awkwardly attempted to flap the small wings behind him.

His soft wings flapped eagerly, trying to lift him into the air, but sadly, Yu Deng remained firmly grounded.

Yu Deng frowned in frustration: "?" Were his wings just for show?!

Wen Luo's lips curled up ever so slightly, barely noticeable.

Not willing to give up, Yu Deng, with the firm belief that he could fly, concentrated and continued flapping his wings with determination.

---

[Can't take it anymore, I'm completely smitten by this adorable little one!! How can such a cute baby exist?!]

[The baby trying to fly is amazing! Let me give him a kiss!]

[Sob, sob, sob. Another day, and my heart is completely emptied by my wife's cuteness.]

[When will the official Infinite Worlds release the streamer merchandise?! I'm going to buy all of Yu Deng's merchandise!!]

Yu Deng had no idea that his audience had already been enchanted by his cuteness. Perhaps his determination was too strong, but those delicate little wings actually lifted him into the air.

Yu Deng: "!!"

His eyes brightened, and he held his breath, nervously trying to continue flying.

A few minutes later, Yu Deng figured out the trick and started wobbling upwards.

Heh heh, he could fly now!

Just as Yu Deng was feeling proud, he looked up and saw the ceiling was so close: "Wait, huh? Oh no?!"

There was one fatal problem—he didn't know how to land!! The ceiling was about seven or eight meters above him!

In a panic, Yu Deng flailed, flying higher and higher, even beginning to spin in the air.

Ugh, so dizzy...

If he flew any higher, he was going to crash into the ceiling, sob sob.

The fruit that had been casually placed in his pocket fell out due to gravity, and when it hit his cheek, it exploded with a puff, splattering sweet jam all over his face.

Yu Deng: "?!"

[Ahhh! Baby, you're going to make me kiss you!]

[Your face is dirty, let me lick it clean, heeheehee.]

[What a clumsy, beautiful baby... so cute, sob sob sob.]

Yu Deng, frustrated, shouted: "Wen Luo! I'm going to crash into the ceiling!"

In an instant, the butler appeared next to him, grabbing Yu Deng and holding him securely in his arms. He gently adjusted the little flapping wings, finally bringing Yu Deng out of his flying mode.

Yu Deng was too exhausted to move, but he still managed to reach up and wipe the jam off his face. However, since he couldn't see his face, the more he wiped, the stickier it became, leaving sweet, gooey fruit juice all over his cheeks.

He looked both pitiful and adorable.

Yu Deng continued wiping for a while, but then lost the will to continue, giving orders to his butler: "Wen Luo, clean the jam off my face."

Wen Luo reminded him: "Young master, I'm currently holding you."

Yu Deng, confused, replied: "I know. Hurry up and clean it off, it's all sticky and uncomfortable."

"Is just cleaning it enough?" Wen Luo asked, confirming.

Yu Deng nodded.

The next moment, the black-haired butler lowered his head, his emerald green eyes gazing at Yu Deng as he gently licked the jam off his cheek.

Yu Deng was momentarily stunned: "Eh?"

"I'm cleaning you up," Wen Luo said with a sigh. "The jam is quite sweet. Would you like to taste it again?"

As Wen Luo spoke, he took the jam-coated lips into his mouth.

Because Wen Luo had mentioned tasting it, Yu Deng unconsciously licked his lips. But by that time, the butler had already captured his lips, turning the action into a deeper kiss.

Wen Luo patiently waited until Yu Deng, flustered and unsure, had licked a few times before gently pressing his hand on the back of Yu Deng's head.

They were both vampires, possessing a low, cool body temperature. But their lips and tongues entwined, as if the air itself was becoming scorching hot.

Wen Luo, as always, was patient during the kiss. His movements were gentle yet undeniable, sucking on the little vampire's lips and tongue, sweeping across every inch of his flesh.

Yu Deng's eyes quickly became wet, a blush spreading across them.

".... Hmm."

Wen Luo thoughtfully gave the young master a moment to breathe, releasing his grip, his voice hoarse.

"Young master, are you comfortable?"

Yu Deng, dazed, replayed the kiss in his mind. Something felt wrong, but he couldn't say what.

However, the butler was indeed more patient than the others, his kisses were not forceful, he could barely say they were comfortable.

"Um... I guess it's alright."

The black-haired man's eyes twinkled with amusement.

Yu Deng, kissed dizzy, realized with a start: "N-no, why are you kissing me...?"

Wen Luo's smile deepened. The young vampire's expression remained steady, but the massive bat wings behind him couldn't help but flutter excitedly.

He said softly,

"I am carrying out your orders, young master."
