A few weeks later I'm back at work, it's the middle of December and everyone is setting up for Christmas. Me and Eli are taking things slow, even though we both have expressed feelings for each other we don't want to say we're officially together yet. Work is dragging like always when I get a call.
"Security"
"Hello Jay it's Mr Williams
"Hello sir how's it going, been a long time"
"Yes it has, anyways I'll get to the point so you can get back to work. I need you to come to my house after you clock it's very important"
"I'll be there sir"
"Excellent, also don't tell anyone about this meeting it's a secret"
Hmmm a secret meeting, I wonder what's happening. Either I'm getting fired or they're promoting me, I don't know we'll see.
Soon my shift is over and I head over to Williams mansion. I'm let in by his maid and led to his office when him and Sarah are waiting for me.
"Jay! Please come take a seat we have a lot to discuss"
I walk over and take a seat in front of his desk, both him and Sarah looking at me with smiles.
"Alright whats this meeting about"
"Well Jay I've been talking with Sarah, we both agreed and decided that we want you to be more than a security guard"
"There's a higher position?"
"Well let's just say yes for times sake. We want you to join our society, do what we do"
"And what's that?"
"My personal business, running drugs. But you'll just start out as an associate, nothing too hard we'll go over things once it gets to that point. What do you say?"
"Thanks but no thanks sir, I'm ok with being a security guard"
"Well that's alright, you're free to go then"
"Have a good night"
As I get up to walk away I feel a sharp pain behind my head and everything goes black. I wake up in another room, strapped to a chair.
"Where am I?"
"Oh you're up… good. See Jay, this job opportunity I'm offering is not optional. You're going to do it. Sarah has told me a lot about you and you're perfect. You got the charisma, the looks, you can persuade and sweet talk your way into or out of anything even though you have one weakness but that will sort itself out. You're the perfect person to groom to be the next leader of this community once me and Sarah are gone."
"And if I still refuse"
"Well then I'll kill you and then your little girlfriend"
"You better not fucking touch her!"
"There it is, that's your weakness, that girl Elizabeth. If you want her to be safe then you do as I say."
"….. fine"
"Excellent now your first test starts now."
Sarah walks over to me and takes the straps off me and hands me a gun
"You've shot a gun before haven't you?"
"Yeah a few times with my dad"
"Good! Your first test is to kill this man"
Sarah brings in a man tied up with tape around his mouth
"I'm not a killer, I can't do this"
"You'll do as I say, remember what I told you"
I look at the guy on his knees in front of me, I put the gun to the back of his head and close my eyes as I pull the trigger. I drop the gun and put my hands over my head realizing what I've just done.
"YES! You passed the first test Jay! I knew you had it in you, don't worry first one is always hard but you'll get used to it. Now Sarah will take you home and then you'll get some information about your next step, goodnight Jay"
I look back at him as Sarah pushes me out the room.
Soon I'm being driven home by Sarah and I just stay quiet looking out the window.
Sarah laughs
"So Jay are you ready for your next test"
"Do I have a fucking choice"
"I suppose you don't. You know how John said Eli is your weakness"
"Yeah…"
"Well it's time for you to dump your little whore, we don't need anything distracting you"
"No… I'm not doing that"
She hits the brakes and puts a gun to my head
"You'll do whatever the fuck I tell you to do or I'll kill you right here and now then make my way over and kill that bitch too"
"FINE!!!…. Just don't hurt her, after I do it just leave her alone"
"Good boy Jay, just shut up, listen and learn. Soon you'll be rich and have everything you've ever wanted in life"
I'm not sure if that's how I would want it, this is wrong but I can't put Eli's life at risk…
