Chapter 9 - Chapter Seven: The Thunder That Hunts

ROAR!!

Ten voices merged into one.

The sound tore through the battlefield like a blade.

The air screamed as their power surged, compressing space itself.

Pressure slammed into me—heavy, crushing, relentless—like standing beneath a collapsing sky.

I answered with a growl.

Not loud.

Not wild.

Controlled.

Blue lightning snapped across my skin, crawling like living veins. My pupils ignited—bright azure. The ground beneath the orcs could no longer endure the pressure.

BOOOOM!

The earth collapsed outward, forming a crater nearly a hundred meters wide.

A light-green orc charged first.

Fast.

BOOM!

I leaned back—barely moving.

His fist missed my face by a breath, the displaced air stinging my skin.

BOM! BOM!

Two more followed instantly, attacking from opposite angles.

I vanished.

The space I stood in imploded under their strikes.

I reappeared behind them.

Punch.

Kick.

Tail.

BAM!

All three bodies were launched backward, smashing into jagged stone.

The dark-skinned orcs reacted immediately.

Four launched themselves into the air. Three remained grounded, their hands glowing as compressed energy blasts screamed toward me.

I twisted midair, slipping between blasts by inches, heat grazing my skin. Using the momentum, I surged forward—straight into the four elites.

BAM!

Our fists collided.

Shockwaves ripped through the sky and shattered the ground below.

I slid past the impact as two kicks swept through where my ribs had been.

Missed.

A punch followed from my blind side.

BAAAAM!

I crossed my arms just in time.

The force hurled me backward through the air.

Blue light flared.

Blades formed along my forearms—solid, humming, alive. Energy condensed, sharpening into a single weapon.

A sword manifested.

The sky lit up.

Energy blasts rushed me in a dense wave.

I swung.

BOOOOOM!

A crescent of lightning tore through the barrage, detonating it midair.

I vanished—

—and appeared directly before an orc still mid-attack.

SWISH!

He split in two.

Another lunged.

Blade through the skull.

The third swung desperately.

I raised my knee.

CRACK!

SWISH!

Blood flooded the shattered ground.

BOOM!

A massive energy sphere erased the space where I had stood moments earlier.

I was already above them.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Explosions tore across the battlefield, turning corpses into ash.

A blur crossed my vision.

A kick missed my head by inches.

A light-green orc charged—faster now, aura burning violently.

No fear.

Only resolve.

I met him head-on.

Lightning screamed.

SWISH!

His head separated from his body.

The corpse fell.

BAM!

A red fist smashed into my face.

Pain flashed white.

Blood touched my lips.

I was sent flying backward.

BOOM!

I twisted midair, narrowly dodging another punch.

The pressure alone carved a crater into the ground.

I kicked off the air, forcing distance—

Too late.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Blasts chased me relentlessly.

Ahead—

A red-skinned orc.

Massive. Dense.

Like a living mountain of muscle and stone.

I dodged a strike from behind and countered with a kick to its side.

It felt like striking solid rock.

BOOM!

A condensed red sphere slammed into my chest.

BAM!

Another fist followed.

BAAAM!

I crossed my arms—

—and was driven downward at sonic speed.

I twisted.

Landed.

BOOM!

The ground collapsed beneath my feet.

Instinct screamed.

BAM!

A massive fist crashed down.

I blocked.

My body bent like a compressed spring, legs spread wide as I absorbed the force.

A kick followed.

I blocked it with my tail.

ROAR!!

The red orc's power surged again.

The ground cracked violently beneath it.

Another punch—

I dodged backward, finally gaining space.

I smiled.

Slow. Sharp.

This wasn't a walk in the park.

This—

was a hunt.

I powered up as well.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Fists and kicks collided in rapid succession.

I dodged and countered—every strike precise.

BAM!

A punch slammed into the ground behind me, the impact shaking the battlefield.

I countered—uppercut to the jaw, solid elbow to the ribs.

The red orc skidded backward.

No damage.

Only fury burning in its crimson eyes.

ROAR!

It charged again.

I dodged and countered—flame-coated fist to its gut, lightning-driven punch toward its heart.

The blow landed.

It staggered—

—but a fist was already coming.

I shifted slightly, redirected the punch sideways, and countered with a lightning-coated fist to its face.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

A barrage of attacks followed—dodged and countered in a blur.

The ground became a cratered wasteland as energy tore through stone, melting rock into magma.

BAM!

My punch missed.

A knee drove toward my chest.

I bent backward like a spring, dodged, and countered with a kick to its chest—using the recoil to create distance.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Blasts.

Kicks.

Fist against fist.

Neither gaining the upper hand.

ROAR!

The orc's power surged to its limit.

Its already massive frame grew larger, denser.

I raised my power to match.

Blue lightning danced wildly around me.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Each collision shattered the ground beneath us.

BAM!

I landed a punch on its face.

It answered with one of its own.

BOOM!

We both skidded back, creating space.

We smiled.

Its tusks and crimson skin made it look like a demon grinning from hell.

Then—

ROOOOOAAAAARRRR!

Its power exploded again.

A sonic shockwave slammed into my body like a wrecking ball, driving me backward as my feet carved deep lines into the earth.

The already ruined landscape was stripped bare—vegetation vaporized, stone scorched—but the land itself still endured.

Unexpected.

The orc's body became wrapped in a glowing red cocoon.

Heat surged.

The ground melted into magma.

The shell cracked.

BOOOOOOM!

A ring of sonic force erupted outward.

Pain ripped through my organs.

I used the recoil to launch myself hundreds of meters away, barely escaping the heat that threatened to melt me alive.

Hovering above the ground, I watched.

The shell shattered.

The red orc emerged—slimmer now, more humanoid.

Its energy was no longer wild.

It was condensed. Focused. Lethal.

Then—

It vanished.

Its presence disappeared from my senses.

DANGER! DANGER! DANGER!

My instincts screamed.

I tilted my head—

A glowing red fist missed my skull by a hair. Heat scorched my cheek.

I moved purely on instinct now.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Sonic waves rippled outward as I dodged relentlessly.

I growled and powered up further.

Blue flames coated my body.

BAM!

Our fists collided again.

I struck—

It tilted its head.

My punch grazed its neck.

A counter came—

I blocked with the back of my hand, redirected the force, and used it to retreat.

But it pressed forward—blasts and a punch aimed at my chest.

I deflected the blasts, twisted my body, and landed a kick to the side of its head.

The force sent it crashing toward the ground.

It landed on its feet.

Then charged again—

Like a raging bull.
