Inside the van.
"Click…"
After seeing Linen and a woman he did not know — someone he couldn't even find online — get into the car, a woman raised her camera and quickly pressed the shutter.
After finishing the shots, she immediately sent the photos to her companion.
After doing all this, she gathered her hair, put down the camera, and prepared to get into the driver's seat.
But before she could enter, the door was suddenly pulled open.
The unexpected movement startled her.
When she clearly saw that the person opening her door was Linen, who should have just driven away, she froze.
Skye raised her hand awkwardly and waved. "Hi…"
At the same time, in another universe.
"Oh my god, Mr. Reed, this is really amazing. You may not understand. There are some things I can't say, and I can't even write them down, or I'll lose something very important."
"But Mr. Reed, do you think our universe will be invaded by aliens?"
"If a purple-skinned, extremely powerful alien invades Earth, what should we do at that point?"
"I mean, if that alien is so powerful that even if we join forces we can't beat him, and he can wipe out half the life in the universe with a snap of his fingers."
Listening to Peter Parker excitedly say a bunch of things he couldn't make sense of, Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards, stopped his work.
"So Peter, what happened to you?"
"Uh… I can't say!"
Faced with Reed's question, Peter Parker shrugged apologetically.
"Well, you don't have to speak. When I ask, you can just nod or shake your head, or tell me with your eyes, okay?"
"Hmm… it doesn't seem possible. Sorry, Mr. Reed. It's not that I don't want to say it, but once I…"
"Okay, okay, I get it."
Seeing Peter unable to explain, Reed shrugged. "Just treat it as your own adventure."
"Peter, some people live entirely ordinary lives, but others encounter things far beyond what normal people can imagine."
"Just like how Susan and I gained powers in space, or how you were bitten by a spider and gained abilities."
Putting down his test pen, Reed spoke very seriously: "This is your adventure, so I think you'll gain a lot from it — even if not right now."
"You mentioned aliens invading Earth. Yes, in the vast universe, Earth isn't alone."
"But no matter which alien species wants to invade and occupy Earth, we will fight to the end, even if it costs our lives."
"And since this is your adventure, you need to truly feel it and take it seriously. Otherwise… maybe one day in the future, this adventure will bring you an unexpected gift."
Listening to Reed's serious words, Peter Parker thought for a few seconds and nodded.
"Thank you, Mr. Reed."
"You're welcome. Also, I've destroyed your blood sample. Don't worry — what happened with Dr. Octopus won't happen again."
Hearing that, Peter Parker finally relaxed.
A few seconds later, Peter suddenly asked, "Mr. Reed, can I see them again?"
"I suggest you don't."
Faced with Peter's request, Reed explained, "Even though I've removed their abilities, they still come from you."
"When they see your news on TV or in the papers, even though it makes them uncomfortable, they're trying to integrate into society and live as ordinary people."
"But if you show up in front of them, they'll definitely feel unbalanced."
"You know how cruel Otto was."
Hearing Reed's words, Peter Parker fell silent.
He looked toward the nearby lab before nodding.
After Peter left, a tall, blonde, very sweet-looking girl walked out of another laboratory.
"Peter Parker left?"
Reed nodded. "He probably sensed you before leaving. Jessica, you know how powerful spider-sense is."
"Of course I know. After all… I'm also Peter Parker."
With a faintly melancholy tone, she glanced in the direction Peter had left.
Then Jessica Drew said sincerely to Reed, "Thank you, Mr. Reed."
"You're welcome. I just want to prevent turmoil in this world."
"After all, so many Spider-Man clones had Peter Parker's abilities and memories, and they were brainwashed into killers. It's terrifying."
"That's why I removed their abilities."
Reed looked at the beautiful, cute girl whose soul was still Peter Parker. "Jessica, you're the only clone Otto never fully controlled. What are you planning next?"
Jessica hesitated for a few seconds before giving a bitter smile. "Mr. Reed, you know my soul and memories tell me I'm Peter Parker… but now my body is a girl."
"If I stay in this universe, I'm afraid I'll do something reckless toward Gwen… or even harm the real Peter."
"When Peter came here earlier, he suddenly asked if you believe in parallel universes, right?"
Jessica looked at Reed with hope in her eyes. "Mr. Reed, I've seen the multiverse shuttle you made these past two days."
"So please send me to another universe… let me start a new life there."
Hearing this, Reed frowned. "Jessica, I have to remind you — even though I created the multiverse shuttle, we don't fully understand the multiverse. We can't guarantee the shuttle will send you to the universe you want."
"What if—"
"It doesn't matter!"
Looking at Reed with determination, Jessica — or Peter Parker in Jessica's body — spoke firmly:
"At least in another universe, I can become Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew."
"Instead of being just a clone of Peter Parker in this universe."
"And I believe the real Peter Parker will protect Gwen."
Seeing her force down her fear and appear resolute, Reed pondered for a few seconds, then nodded.
