"Tell me he did not die for nothing," Aria said quietly.
Marcus did not answer at first. He stepped inside the safe house and held up the USB drive.
"He died to give us this," Marcus said. "And whatever is on it just made us the most dangerous people in New York."
Marcus burst fully through the safe house door at 3:47 PM, with the USB drive clutched in his hand as though it contained the secrets of the universe.
The team was already assembled.
"Did you get it?" Viktor asked immediately.
Marcus held up the drive. "Richard gave it to me right before he was killed, and he said it contains every communication from the mastermind, every instruction, and every payment authorization."
"Let me see it," Viktor said as he reached out.
Marcus handed it over, and Viktor immediately inserted it into an isolated laptop that was completely disconnected from any network.
