"Typhlosion!"
The young man panicked and rushed forward to check on Typhlosion's condition.
"Don't worry, it's not dead. It's just too injured to fight. My Pidgey is much more humane than you are," Jack reached out and stroked Mew, who had returned to his shoulder, not forgetting to butter it up.
"Pidgey~"
Mew chirped happily.
"Why? How can your Pidgey use a move like Hyper Beam?"
The young man retrieved Typhlosion into its Poké Ball, then stood up and looked coldly at Jack.
He couldn't understand how a Pidgey could use an ultimate move like Hyper Beam.
"Guess," Jack said mockingly.
"You!"
The young man was instantly furious.
Jack continued, "Stop with the nonsense. If you're not brave enough to continue fighting, then transfer the money to me immediately and get lost."
The young man gritted his teeth and turned to look at his companions.
Although he didn't want to ask for help, he only had one Croconaw left. He didn't believe his Croconaw could defeat a Pidgey that could use Hyper Beam, so he could only team up with other Pokémon.
More importantly, he didn't believe that Pidgey could use Hyper Beam multiple times in a row under a siege.

Croconaw opened its huge, fanged mouth, waiting to swallow the enemy whole once it landed on the ground.

In front of him was Mew, transformed into a Pidgey. One person and one bird, they looked at the three Pokémon opposite them with utmost composure.
"Croconaw, Scary Face!"

"Charizard, go help Croconaw! If that Pidgey uses Hyper Beam, use Flamethrower on it," the young man's companion, the man named Alex, quickly said.
Charizard roared and flapped its wings, charging forward.
"Venusaur, Solar Beam! As soon as that Pidgey attacks, you and Charizard attack it together," the young man's companion, the girl named Lily, also quickly followed up.
The giant Venusaur nodded in understanding, and then the sun's rays began to visibly gather as a tangible force into the huge petals opening on its back.
Looking at Charizard and Venusaur, accumulating power and preparing to attack his Mew, Jack's mouth curved upwards. He first whispered a few words, then began to give commands loudly.
"Pidgey, Double Team, rush towards them separately."
Mew chirped, and then its body split into three, rushing towards Croconaw, Charizard, and Venusaur respectively.
"Croconaw, Water Gun!"
"Charizard, Flamethrower!"
The young man and the man named Alex quickly gave orders.
A jet of water and a stream of flame instantly scattered two of the Pidgey.
A Substitute!
Everyone immediately turned their gaze to the Pidgey rushing directly towards Venusaur.
Since those two were fakes, the real one could only be this one.
Then they heard Jack's voice.
"Pidgey, Hyper Beam."
The young man and the man named Alex quickly looked at the girl.
"Lily, quickly command Solar Beam, while it's still gathering energy," the young man said.
"Brother Ethan, don't rush. Solar Beam takes time, but I promise it will definitely be faster than its Pidgey," Lily said, wiping the cold sweat from her face.
Two seconds later, Venusaur condensed a ball of light like a small sun.
"Venusaur, Solar Beam, now!" Lily quickly commanded.
The next second, a powerful, dazzling beam of light rushed towards the Pidgey gathering energy in the air.
In an instant, everyone seemed to see the image of Pidgey being melted away by the light beam.
"Ah, what a pity. Such a powerful Pidgey is just gone. It's only to blame for following the wrong master," the onlookers sighed one after another.
How great it would be if such a Pidgey was theirs. They would definitely worship it like an ancestor; the position of master and pet would undoubtedly belong to it. It could learn a divine move like Hyper Beam without evolving, and even fight the final evolved forms of the Original Three Starters to such a degree. What if it evolved later? It might even be able to fight a Legendary Pokémon, and perhaps even win.
"Hahahaha, it's over! Your Pidgey is gone. According to the bet, you should transfer all your money to me." Seeing the annoying Pidgey vanish into thin air, although he felt a little regretful, the young man still laughed loudly, taunting Jack and extending his hand for him to fulfill the bet.

After that, all they saw was a Venusaur lying on the ground, its fate unknown.
"How is this possible? Why is it up there?" Ethan was horrified, unable to understand why the Pidgey, which had clearly been melted by Solar Beam, would rush out from above.
"Because the Solar Beam just hit a Substitute," Jack said with a mocking expression.
The whispered words he had spoken to Mew earlier were to have it use the Substitute move when using Double Team, creating a fake body that could withstand damage, achieving a deceptive effect. The real body, Mew, would use its own invisibility move to lie dormant in mid-air, waiting for his command to unleash Hyper Beam.
"Substitute! It can even use the move Substitute!"
