Chapter 1: Rebirth in Shadows
Eren woke to a world that wasn't entirely new, yet nothing felt familiar. Memories of his previous life lingered like smoke, whispering the truth he had long denied: he needed no one. No friends, no allies, no false bonds. Only himself.
But fate, as always, was cruel.
Reincarnated into the body of a boy in a novel's world, Eren's first test came quickly. His older sister, Lyra, had been kidnapped by an underground network of criminals. His organization, a secret group he had built from whispers and shadows even before he was reborn, retrieved her but something felt off. They treated it as if it were a game, a chessboard for their amusement. Eren didn't trust them.
He would not forgive anyone who toyed with him.
The Shadows and the Organization
Eren founded his own covert organization: Noctis Veil. Its members were shadows in the night, unseen, unstoppable. Their creed was simple:
"We lurk in the shadows, and hunt the shadows."
Noctis Veil operated in silence. At night, Eren and his seven elite shadows struck at the hearts of evil organizations, rescuing the innocent and punishing the corrupt.
His seven shadows were:
1. Kaelen – A stoic werewolf with claws sharper than steel.
2. Aeryn – An elf archer with unmatched precision.
3. Lyssara – Elf mage, master of elemental storms.
4. Thalen – Elf warrior, whose blades could cut through the air itself.
5. Sylveth – Elf illusionist, bending reality in shadows.
6. Orion – Elf rogue, stealth incarnate.
7. Vaelith – Elf cleric, healer and seer.
Together, they were a storm cloaked in darkness.
Magic Academy
At fifteen, Eren entered the prestigious Magic Academy, where his older sister, Lyra, had been studying a year before. It was a world of brilliance, arrogance, and power but Eren saw it all differently.
He saved seven powerful elves who had been targeted by the same evil organization that kidnapped Lyra. They swore loyalty to him, completing the formation of his shadow team.
By the end of the first day, Eren had been tested, challenged, and leveled beyond the expectations of the Academy. But he didn't celebrate. He suspected everyone, thinking they were still playing games with him. To the world, he was just another background character, unnoticed but in the shadows, he was far from ordinary.
At night, Eren and his shadows hunted their enemies. He wore black, face obscured, announcing:
"We are Noctis Veil."
Every strike precise, every mission deadly.
The Princess and the Shadowed Heart
The princess of a neighboring kingdom, Elaria, approached him with a proposal of alliance and something more. He said no, claiming it would ruin his "background character" status, but she insisted, smiling with a confidence that unsettled him.
Then tragedy struck. Elaria was kidnapped. Her older sister accused Eren but Noctis Veil tracked the captors, rescuing her before the accusations could hold weight. That night, they discovered she had been murdered by a powerful monster, leaving Eren enraged and unyielding.
He confronted the remaining threat, clad entirely in black, announcing:
"We lurk in the shadows, and hunt the shadows."
When he finished, he left the battlefield, his presence enough to carve a literal hole in the kingdom's sense of security.
The Persona: Atomic
From that moment on, Eren embraced his true identity in secret: Atomic. A force of nature, the world around him bending to his will but he concealed it, appearing weak so that the unworthy would underestimate him.
At school, he allowed others to shine, losing duels purposefully. Yet, when provoked or threatened, Atomic rose, shattering expectations, leaving devastation in his wake.
And the game had only begun.
